Super 8 Monee

I made a reservation at Monee Super 8 on my way to Champaign IL. The only thing I did not like about the hotel was the bathroom toilet and the shower. I think that the shower head pressure was limited. I'm sure this is not the first complain about this but it was difficult to rinse off. The toilet and shower needed more cleaning. I could tell both had stains that could be easily removed with a bit of Ajax.

It was okay. Easy to get to. Towels and wash cloths appear to de dingy. This appears to be the same concern the last time I stayed there.

Hotel was well kept and worth the value. Staff was Friendly and helpful. Should over more fruit with the continental breakfast.

Everything was great except for the lady that was working the front desk. She wasn't inviting or friendly. She was borderline rude and seemed irritated when I checked in. Even though everything else was great; unfortunately, her attitude alone makes me question of I'll ever stay there again. I'm not sure if I'll even recommend this hotel to others either.

We stopped here on out way to Michigan. It was right off the interstate so that was nice, but the hotel that night cost us way more than what I would have liked to have paid. Very voncient location tho.

The ice machine was rusty around the dispensary. Lack iron board and iron in the room; Complimentary breakfast was okay; Staff was very friendly and helpful; The sink was missing the valve to hold water in the sink. The refrigerator and microwave was a +.

The room itself was clean (as was the entire building), the staff quite pleasant and helpful, and the price very reasonable. However, the bed was rather soft (I need a firm mattress), and the design of the shower left a lot to be desired. There was only one flimsy curtain instead of an inner and outer liner, and it was far too short for the length of the bathtub. Instead of a shower curtain rod, there was a flimsy strip of thin metal. The interior of the shower had one tiny 4" rod on which to drape a washcloth, no shelf or ledge on which to place soap or shampoo, and no safety bars or anything else (such as a shower curtain rod) that one could grasp to brace one's self in a slippery tub. I don't know who dreamed up this shoddy arrangement for Super 8, but the chain had best get rid of it fast. If you can put up with that inconvenience, then this motel is a very worthwhile bargain.

I expected less when trying to find a cheaper hotel. I didn't go too cheap, because I didn't want a bad experience. However, there were still some disappointments. The worst issue was that my bare feet discovered that the threshold strip between the hall carpet and the bathroom tile was missing, allowing the tack strip (not visible) for the carpeting to almost injure my feet! That was inexcusable -- between housekeeping and maintenance depts, that should have been fixed ASAP. The elevator to the second floor was not operational, and I think I noticed an "out of order" note on an ice maker. Other than those issues, and a lot of cracked floor tiles in the bathroom and a general feeling of becoming run-down, it wasn't the worst cheap hotel experience I've had (a 2008 night at Motel6 in Merrillville, IN was the WORST).

Nothing special but a good value for the price and the location was great to access downtown Chicago by way of Metra Train system.

elavator was not in use during my visit had to drag our luggage up and down the stairs. there was however a nice restaurant next door and the staff was very good.

I like this hotel, it's nice an quite, in good location! It has place to eat nearby, a place to get gasoline.

At 5:30 am no hot water. Should have requested discount because of not having hot water. Rubber mattress protector undersheet gobbed up and uncomfortble to sleep on Hotel staff were not very knowledgeable about places to eat. Great location for conference I was attending. Overall, would not stay there again.
