Upon check in the person working gave me a gift bag that was for a wedding party even though i said i was not with them. "You should have said yes"he tells me. I was told the sauna was only for men? "Let me give you directions on the parking ramp so you can tell your husband" this was VERY insulting to my gender, are you assuming I am not driving or not able to comprehend directions? The room was WAY to hot when heat was off and window open in Nov. It was 80! I tried turning A/C on it didnt work. There was only sheets on the bed (no quilt or spread). The linens where all overly bleached so towels felt like sandpaper. Police sirens woke me up almost every hour.

The lobby was nice but the rooms are very dated and in poor condition.

Great location and staff. The hotel itself is definitely on its last leg but I heard they are beginning restoration soon. I really liked my stay here.

The amenities were a definite draw but the rooms were very outdated and smelled musty.

Wonderful location, but the hotel is terribly old. The room was a good size, but doesn’t appear to have had any updates in the last 40 years. Pluses would be the gorgeous view from the rooftop bar and the staff was friendly & accommodating.

For a 100-year old historic hotel, this facility is amazing. It still holds every bit the charm and elegance as its first patrons. The hotel staff were neat, professional, and efficient. I was surprised but not disturbed by the gender-segregated fitness facilities with men and women's access to separate fitness areas on different floors. I wish i had allowed more time in my schedule to stay at and explore the hotel. Not only would I stay here again, but I will look for more reasons to visit and stay in Milwaukee so that I can experience more of this hotel.

Good location, staff was pleasant but our room had no air conditioning. It took the staff a half hour to find a room that had the air conditioner working properly. Otherwise, for the price we paid it was ok.

This hotel was terrible. Upon checkin we were on the 11th floor. Our room was nice but very out dated. It was 84 degrees in the room when we entered. We tried the air conditioning but it did not work. So we turned off the entire heater. But the heater would not stop blowing extremely hot air. We opened all 3 windows and it did not cool the room lower than 77 degrees. So the entire night it was unbelievably hot. Then because the windows were open, we were awoke by 6am with traffic, loud people, loud wildlife, and other very loud noises. The rooms to this hotel are paper thin and you can hear everything other people do in their room. Terrible stay. Huge waste of money. Never again

Hotel lobby is nice but the rooms are a disappointment. Beds are decent, furniture is ancient , laptop screen bigger than the TV's in the room. Bathrooms are ancient, no shampoo, toilet paper. Pretty poor management. Restaurant and bar is centered around weekdays for members not for hotel guests. Would never stay here again. Too many other options available in Milwaukee for same price with much better amenities.

Stayed here before and the room thermostats never work--maximum heat is 72 degrees which is cold in the fall and winter. Rooms also need updating.

We stayed here because the description said there were pool and hot tubs. So the first night we arrive we get ready to go swimming to find out men and women have different swimming facilities? Not really what we had in mind for our vacation.

Walking into the hotel was like going back in time to a place where form and finish really mattered. The decor is 1960's with quality materials and a classic look. While the room decor is dated the bed was very comfortable and the linens were of the highest quality. The two greatest take aways were the quality of the staff with their focus on customer comfort and the food is the best I have enjoyed in many years.

I reacted to mold/mildew odors in bedroom. Woke up early to get outside and away from the odors.

Although it appears this property was quite the swank pad in its day, the Milwaukee Athletic Club is in need of an overhaul. The entrance and lobby are beautiful, as is the first floor lounge. However, as soon as you get on one of the three elevators, you begin to appreciate that the facility is quite antiquated as the elevators jerk and whine all the way to your destination floor, leaving you to ponder if you are going to get a quick and unexpected trip back to the lobby courtesy of gravity. The rooms themselves were nice and clean, but were sitting at a balmy 79-80 degrees Fahrenheit when we arrived. Tried setting the AC to cool the rooms, but were unsuccessful. Called the front desk, and they advised they'd work on the issue. Went to the first floor lounge for dinner, and it was very good! I enjoyed an excellent steak, while my colleague devoured the Signature Burger, which looked amazing. Though, while eating, I did overhear another hotel guest complaining to someone that her room was frigidly cold. Upon returning to our rooms, the temperature was still about 79 degrees, so talked to the front desk again and they sent up someone with some portable fans to help cool us down. Windows only open a little bit, so cooling from the outside air was unsuccessful. Needless to say, didn't get much sleep. Conversely, upon getting up in the morning, my associate discovered that he had no hot water for a shower, although I did in the adjacent room. I guess this may have be

Very nice for the paid price in Downtown, I recommend this afforable place

Went to MAC for a night out with my girlfriends...we got a 2 queen bedroom. Beds and pillows were super comfy. Tons of room for hanging out. great view of downtown. Had a fridge and coffee maker as well. Hotel staff was super nice as well. Didn't have a chance to use the pool or anything but it was perfectly located too!

The shower was difficult and the tub drain was very slow.

I stayed here for one night and it was a great experience. The location is close to bars and restaurants and within walking distance from downtown areas. Even though it is a old hotel, the main areas are very clean and updated. The room was definitely bigger than regular hotels and very comfortable. Overall, this is a very nice hotel to stay in and I will be back soon.

At the beginning of next year we will be shutting down and doing a complete renovation of the entire building that should last about a year. Please try us again in 2020. It will be worth it.
