Harrah's Metropolis Hotel & Casino

When I went back to the front desk after checking in and said there was no microwave or TV in my room I was told they would rather that I dine in one of the restaurants. .....And the TV is hidden behind louver doors. The room was clean and spacious, but I do not gamble and like to have the convenience of a microwave oven. $20 buffet was not what I desire that night so I had a light dinner in room.

2nd time staying at this hotel. We found it last yr while taking son to college on our road trip. Wifi for two devices is free and room and bathroom are very nice clean and quite. We never got to the casino because he had to be 21 and I was so tired.

I was traveling, Metropolis happened to be about halfway during my journey, so I stopped for the night. I got in late in the evening, got checked in quickly and efficiently, and spent an hour or so in the casino before calling it a night and getting some sleep. I didn't get a chance to see the other facilities in the hotel, but what I saw looked good. Overall, it was a great room at an inexpensive price - assuming you don't count what I lost in the casino.

Everything was all in one place. Very nice. I would stay there again.

No maid service until 4:30pm! Were expecting a made bed, empty trash and clean towels when we got back from a long day. When she did knock, she was very nice etc no complaint there.

Although the staff was very friendly and the rooms clean, it was very sad to see the state of the actual hotel grounds. It was unbelievably dirty and neglected. Never in my life had I seen so many cigarette butts littered everywhere, thousands of them in bushes, grass, trees, sidewalks and the parking lot. There were ash trays overflowing, paper cups and plastic bottles everywhere, light bulbs out all over in signage. I know it has no impact on the clean rooms and friendly staff, but it really shows that no one cares, straight up neglect.

Great hotel for a great price . Room was nice, big and clean. Bathroom had large towels and a vanity mirror. Also everything was clean and quiet.

Good facilities, close to Paducah to see sites there since Metropolis is a dying town.

The room was really nice and modern with a great sitting area (refrigerator, microwave and sitting area). On the downside however the hotel is kind of the middle of nowhere (if you want to do other activities), there is an internet charge per device activated ($10 I think) and there is no breakfast. None of those things would cause us not to stay here as the room amenaties far outweighed any of the above negatives. This has become our preferred stopping point as we come back from Florida (assuming we are able to get the same rate)

Room was very clean, and that is my main concern. Bathroom spotless. Mattress was far too soft. No microwave, which is odd since there was a fridge. TV was in a cabinet which was cool, but you couldn't see the TV from the side because of the cabinet doors. Roomy room. Place just looks a little worn. Not a lot, just a little. Nice safe included in closet, which was very helpful.

Have stayed at many other Metropolis hotels over the decades and this one is by far the best, and certainly the most entertaining with the casino. Outstanding room, clean everything, comfortable bed, delicious fancy breakfast choices in their restaurant. Super easy check-in for us, easy parking for us, and easy check-out. We will absolutely stay there again the next time we pass through this area which is about once a year.

The hotel and casino provided a nice overnight experience during our long road trip. The hotel staff were very nice, especially the bell and housekeeping staff. Although we didn't do well at the casino, it did provide some entertaining down time from driving. The late night food choices were disappointing, but we were able to have some good appetizers and drinks in the casino bar. The room had a good view of the river and was quiet and comfortable. The town of Metropolis doesn't offer much for food choices. If it wasn't for Superman, the town would probably be even more run down. Basically not much outside of the hotel. It provided what we needed.

Rather than staying in Paducah where rates are ridiculously high for 2-3 star hotels, I decided to give Harrah's in Metropolis a try. The room was clean, large and comfortable. The only negative is the $11.09 "resort fee" the hotel requires. You get absolutely nothing for that. Even the desk clerk said it was a ripoff. Just add the money to the room rate! Anyway, it was a good overall experience and I'd stay there again while on the road.

We were driving from Florida to Wisconsin and made this our overnight stay. Our room had several problems such as broken tub and broken showerhead. We ended up moving rooms. It was inconvenient and exhausting as we had already unpacked. In the end the quick action of the front desk manager saved our night.

Really had a nice room. Room was clean. Breakfast at the restaurant was really good as well.

It's a nice hotel for the money. I would stay there again.

My new bride and I went on a road trip from Illinois to Tn. We decided to stay at Harrahs in Metropolis. The staff was amazing!!!! They not only upgraded us to a honeymoon suite, they brought chocolates, water, and soda to our room to congratulate us! I highly recommend this hotel and the cost was very low for the expensive taste decorated in the room. I give 2 thumbs up!!!!!

In town on business, convenient location, good room prices.

We will stay at Harrah's on our next visit to the Metropolis/Paducah area.

Making a quick trip thru this area and was surprised by this property. The room was very large and comfortable. It is a little ways off of the interstate but easy to get to and the area is very pretty. Had some trouble getting on to the WIFI but their service overrode the problem. Will stay here on future trips thru this area.
