Terrific location just steps from Harrods. The staff seemed to be always smiling and helpful. Housekeeping never seems to get the recognition but they were so accommodating and worked with our schedule. Hats off to them (stayed in 223). Graham, (Concierge) was most helpful in securing tickets, giving directions, and obtaining transportation to and from Heathrow. The morning waitstaff were very pleasant for early morning risers. Dining at Outlaw's was superb and the young man who made the wine recommendations was most knowledgable and very impressive. Whiskey tasting at The Capital Bar was quite enjoyable and educational. Very good way to learn from the experts. The ladies at Reception were always ready to assist with a smile. My only regret was not getting to meet Kate Levin.
room - perfect (after a thoughtful upgrade) staff - helpful and pro-active location - ideal for shopping, entertainment and excercise in Hyde Park Breakfast - absolutely first class Restaurant - really outstanding. Outlaw is a master chef, and as a vegetarian I was blown away by the dishes he prepared for me.
My first stay at The Capital Loved the decor and closeness to Harrods and Hestons The staff were excellent Bruno and clive were amazing as i had to rush back to Australia cos my 97 year old mum had fallen and broken her hip Clive sent me back with a bear for her and posted wedding presents for me Will definitely stay here again Breakfast i also enjoyed Thankyou everyone 😊
The Capital is small in scale but big in what it delivers. It has an incredibly attentive staff and a great restaurant and bar. The rooms may be somewhat small, dark and little dated, but they are very well appointed and quiet. At the Capital you are attended to by a great staff, have your meals in an extremely good restaurant, have a drink at a superb bar with knowledgeable tenders and get a very restful sleep. Who can ask for more?
Excellent location if you want to be in Knightsbridge however the rooms were dark and heavy. I did not visit the restaurant or bar as I was ill, which brings me to room service. Having stayed in many top hotels in the world, I found this to be lacking in finesse. I received exactly what I ordered, nothing more - not even a glass of water. Soup arrived with a bowl of soup - a tray with a spoon and a bowl of soup. Breakfast was a bowl of porridge - nothing more. May I suggest always including a glass of water. Did not make for an appetizing meal. Service was generally very good, staff very friendly and helpful.
We have been using the Capital for several years on our annual visits from Australia. Its small, intimate, comfortable with first class Fand B accompanied by friendly and efficient staff. The bar is delightful. All this with Harrods as the corner shop!
Excellent location, professional staff, friendly approach and highly recommend the hotel. The breakfast was delicious! Restaurant for afternoon tea and dinner is lovely. If you are looking for a reasonable hotel with a great location, that is close to all shopping, then this is the one.
First and foremost, the staff at this hotel is outstanding! They will make sure all your needs are met. The rooms are uniquely decorated, comfortable beds, air conditioning (although that can be a bit loud when trying to cool down from a rare hot day in London), nice bathrooms, and great amenities. Internet works great. Downside is the my room didn't have a chest of drawers, just smallest closets and a small built in desk where the coffee service was. It was okay as I was there for a pleasure trip and didn't need to work, but I don't think a business traveler would find that desk useful. The other thing is that the in room coffee is instant (only Nespresso in the suites), which I don't care for. Plus side is that coffee downstairs and in the restaurant is delicious. Some limited choices for breakfast, but the buffet was satisfactory for me, but lacked hot dishes. Overall, pleasant stay, great value for the price, and the Outlaw restaurant was superb!
We have just had the most wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff were superb. Graham and Clive made sure we knew where we were going and what we might want to do. The front desk staff always greeted us with charm and a smile. The staff executed several special and unexpected touches for our granddaughter and us. Breakfast was always tasty and the cocktails were super. Of course it goes without saying the room was very comfortable and clean. The location is the best. This was our second time at The Capital Hotel and there will be a third and fourth.
I strongly would like to recommend this British small luxuary hotel to anyone who wish to stay around Knightsbridge. Quite close from Harrods and it takes only a few minutes' walk from Underground Station Knightsbridge. I had not been London for over ten years so a little bit afraid to visit to after very horrible terrorist' attacks occured a little before my visit this time. But now I do recognised that such a fear was totally meaningless after experiencing an extraordinary comfortable stay at this hotel with a very pleasant warm welcome and splendid hospitality given by all the people at the hotel. First of all, upon my arrival on rainy day almost being at a loss near Harrods, a very handsome gentleman came near where I was and kindly escorted me to the hotel! I am so grateful for his gentle support. And in addition, I really would like to express my appreciation to a lovely lady at the reception who kindly helped me asking a restaurant to heat my food which I purchased at Harrods. As I traveled alone, a little tired from move from Paris, I felt like having a light dinner in my room...So her kind help was quite helpful to me, too Also, I will never forget to have very wonderfully sophisticated afternoon tea again. It's porsion was just appropriatme with my appetite, cakes were very beautifull to look and tasted very delicate and not too sweet. I really enjoyed to taste a sandwiches of cucumber on Matcha Tea Bread since I am a Japanese! Lastly, deep appreciation to all of you for your warm and kind hospitality during my stay in London. Definitely, I will return to stay at your hotel again possibly this Autum. I do miss London and all of you!
