it´s a basic hotel, but it´s clean and comfort and they offer a very competitive price. a luxury if you attend any show at Shepperd´s bush 02 which is just 2 minutes walk. stuff very nice and helpful. a sainsbury just in front of the hotel, and don´t miss the pub next door the Richmond, genuine pub.
Me and my bro stopped here for 2 nights as a base for the footy. The 'hotel' is very average to say the least! The staff were friendly enough and its in an ideal location for the tube, but everything else was a bit poor to be fair. We were staying on the top floor in a room for 3. The shower didn't work, the tv didn't work and the beds weren't comfy at all. Breakfast consisted of strange looking fried and scrambled eggs, cold chewy toast and warm yoghurt. Although it was cheap I wouldn't recommend it.
Shocking dirty very very outdated tired disgusting filthy unwelcoming over priced even if this place was £10 per night it would be £9.99 too much holes in the wall covered up by posters plug sockets over loaded it's a disaster waiting to happen how this place is still open is beyond belief showers don't work nothing electrical should be used carpets worn out its got mould growing in rooms smells are unreal please stay away from this he'll hole iv given it a rating of one but in reality it should be minus 5
We had a big hole in the wall in our room, half covered with a poster ducktaped over it. The outer wall had lots of damp spots and the bedcoveres were more than worn. Breakfast was not to our liking and very spartan.
This horrid hell hole of a hotel was the worst place I've ever stayed. A disgusting cardboard shower loomed beside my grotty bed and made me feel grubbier than I was before I showered. I thought I could let the vileness of the room go as it was cheap BUT THEN I saw a mouse scuttle across the putrid carpet on my final morning. After phoning reception on the number listed on Google I discovered I had phoned the wrong hotel (?!), so I had to sit in utter shock and disgust until I finally got the attention of a member of staff. Said member of staff didn't believe I saw a mouse but promised I would be compensated nonetheless. Of course, I did not get any compensation and then later discovered, by the power of Internet reviews, my room was not the only to have an extra furry guest loiter amongst the floor boards. VILE, YUCK, not even worth the budget price. Pay a little more, I implore you.
We were three Ceroc dancers from Somerset who decided to come to London-Hammersmith for a Ceroc Dance Freestyle at the Town Hall, King Street last weekend. We looked at the website 'Booking direct.com for an accommodation. We did not want to pay too much money as we were staying only for one night. We just wanted a basic accommodation but when we arrived at the Hotel Plaza in London-Hammersmith, we did not expect to see an accommodation "worse" than the basic... First impression, the Reception office desk was situated in a lounge, few tables were there for breakfast. The staff was very ignorant at our arrival and we did not feel welcomed at all. We were located on the roof-top in a room for three people, among us two female dancers and a male dancer. As we were different genders, we needed some privacy as "women" but it worked between us. We had to share a shower boxed as if we were going into a telephone box, so tiny with a shower holder and a shower flow which did not work properly, we noticed outside the window, many cigarettes ends, the room itself smelt whatever...the bedding sheets were clean but the blankets were pretty old. We got ready as fast as we could, avoiding to stay longer in the room. Breakfast: We went down for Breakfast the next day and we were looking forward to it but we were shocked when one of the staff directed my friend to the breakfast saying with no smile or enthusiasm: " it's there!!! pointing to a chest-drawer. The breakfast contents was fried eggs, scrambled eggs and cold toasts then warm toasts added on top, the yoghurts were warm, the butter was displayed in a pot which did not look clean, the jam did not look jam...so after seeing this, we could not stay no more and we decided to have breakfast elsewhere. Absolutely not recommended. No manners.
The room was clean, neat and tidy. Our room was ensuite and towels, soap and shampoo were provided. We contacted the hotel the day before we arrived to enquire if we could leave our luggage earlier than the check in time of 2pm, we arrived at 12ish and the room was ready and waiting for us. The staff were nice and friendly. I would stay here again.
We booked this as a Base whilst watching a concert at The Eventim Apollo. Morrissey 20th and 21st September 2015. The price was reasonable well perhaps very good at 185.00 for three nights. We had to wait 10 minutes for the landlord to return and then when we entered the lounge, it didn't look too bad. We were then told room 39 on 3rd floor. NO LIFT and 54 steep steps up to our room. Now I suffer from asthma and copd and when I reached the room I could have done with oxygen ! Upon entering the room it was clean. But emitted a strange musty smell. The shower was basic and was the source of the smell. The sink and fridge was OK. The toilet which was a shared one across the landing was OK and clean. I suffered from a constant wheeze whilst in London for the three days and we found ourselves staying out later than we normally would have done so we didn't have the steps to climb at the end of the night. Its a cracking location for the theatre and tube into London, but I wish I had done my homework first. Breakfast is also continental. Cereal, scrambled or poached egg and toast. Don't expect a fry up.
Sorry but yes it was cheap but that doesn't mean it has to be the pit it is! We were at the very top! It was beyond freezing we got no sleep at all! Shared toilet which backs onto neighbouring property's, no blind so no privacy! Our room had no curtains the bed covers stunk and obviously hadn't been washed! There's some weird shower cubicle in the room complete with soaking wet bath mat from the previous occupant! The one plug socket was dangerously over loaded! I wish I'd booked into a hostel as 10 pound more we could have stayed in a travel lodge! The only good thing is its a short walk to the Apollo never ever again!!!
I booked this hotel originally for myself for a 5 hour stay just to rest my head before an audition at Disney Headquarters down the road! I had asked if I could check in during the early hours of the morning due to a late night drive from Devon and the guy I spoke to on the phone happily said "yes that's fine, I'll make sure someone is here for you" which made me feel very welcome! On the day of arrival I actually ended up being able to check in a lot earlier than planned and with my partner too. So I rang ahead to upgrade to a double room and to let them know about my earlier check in and they were so helpful and friendly about the whole exchange! I paid £60 for a room for two in central London and got exactly, if not more than what I expected! The rooms weren't posh or fancy, but it had a (slightly small!) double bed and a single bed with a TV, dining table and lamp and a fridge too with convenient hanging space for my interview clothes the next day. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from Hammersmith tube station which was really handy, they offer a free basic breakfast the next day of eggs on toast which was a very nice surprise with tea, coffee, cereal and yoghurts too! The only complaint would be about the shared bathroom facilities and that if you stayed on the ground floor you had to go upstairs to use the bathroom in which there was no shower, just a toilet, sink and a bath. Other than this the hotel was perfect for what we needed! Don't pay way below London prices and expect a posh hotel, because this isn't at all a posh hotel! If you want somewhere fancy to stay book the Novotel down the road at £200+ a night!!
