We had a two night stop in London on route to our honeymoon and the CQ Covent Garden was the most advantageous for us to see family before we left. But we should have taken some difficulty in finding another hotel because we were not a fan. From the size of the hotel, facing the A4200 in the AM when sirens and traffic were blaring, to the safe not functioning, power in the room not functional bedside, and worst of all, the shower drain stinking like raw sewage whenever we heard someone flush or using the pipes. The only glimmer was the late checkout email we got day before we departed. When we spoke to the front desk to secure it, they informed us this was not possible. After a lengthy argument with the front desk we learned the hotel would contact hotels.com to secure half our stay back as a refund. No question I'll be double checking to make sure that happens. If you need a bed and the rest is moot, book away. Otherwise, stay away.

We were given a subterranean basement room with no window. So no natural light. Noisy early in the morning. Hotel unable to provide another room. All in all disappointing. Would not recommend.

Great place to stay after the theatre.
A great place to stay for central London and especially the theatres and the Royal Opera House. We were allowed to book in early and they have a very generous book out time of 12:00. Lots of nice free coffee and tea in the pleasant lounge. The room was compact but very well fitted with many nice touches. No food on site (although they do offer breakfast nearby) but in this area you'll have no problem finding many excellent places to eat.

The location in Holborn is fantastic, though the hotel itself is a bit outdated in the rooms. The cleanliness was average but I felt the lack of amenities (e.g., not even a spare roll of toilet paper in the bathroom, or hand soap) made this more a 3 star hotel than a 4. The 4 star rating must come from the great customer service of the front desk and hotel staff. The beds were very stiff and needed a mattress pad or other layer to provide comfort. It would have been great for those who enjoy a very stiff bed. The hotel TV also has few channels, but this was fine as we didn't spend much time watching the telly. Overall, my stay felt more like 3 stars than 4. The cost was worth it for the location and the great customer service, but not for the hotel itself.
