I booked a twin bed, on arrival got a single and told I could pay for an upgrade. My room was right next to reception and very noisy. The room was freezing and I had to sleep with a sink about 6 inches from my head

The room was clean and comfortable. Access to the surrounding areas such as Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens and Palace and Buckingham Palace are in easy walking distance. The only issue, and I didn't raise it was the shower drain didnt drain. As such we had to have a very slow running shower to avoid it flooding the entire bathroom.

Don't book this hotel. The room carpet is dirty. There could be something in the bed that made me skin allergy after slept the first night. They did not provide the towels every days. Actually no new towels when we stayed there for four days. The most terrible thing was that the shower was not working, it was either extremely hot-burning hot, or extremely cold. We asked for a room change, the agent refused to do so, instead, he came to the room trying to fix it. He spent about 30 minutes, and seems to fix it, but it only worked for one shower, and it stopped working when the second one tried to take the shower. So we did not have any shower during the stay. The manager told us they actually could have changed the room for us, it's too late, but why their agent refused to do so? Staying in this hotel is a nightmare!!!

A Lovely Stay near Paddington Station

I booked this hotel last minute and was really impressed with the value for money. I arrived quite late in the evening (close to 11pm), but there was friendly staff on hand straight away – it’s reassuring to have a 24/7 reception. Although I had booked a single room, I was kindly upgraded to a spacious double room on the ground floor, which was a lovely surprise. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of bedding, complimentary tea and coffee, and even a fan provided. The bathroom looked freshly modernised, and the double doors helped keep the room quiet and peaceful. Both check-in and check-out were handled with genuine friendliness, and it really felt like the staff cared about their guests and the business. Overall, a very refreshing and enjoyable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again – highly recommended!

Good Value for Money, but Room for Improvement

For its tier, the hotel is good quality for the price. Two small issues, however: (1) The hotel's listing on Hotels.com advertised a 2 PM check-in. Upon arrival at ~1:45, I was told that they add an hour to the check-in time to prepare the room, and to come back at 3 PM. Sheer misrepresentation. (2) In the room I eventually received, there was no hand towel, the free-standing fan only stood when delicately balanced on its collapsing base, and the nightstand drawers were falling apart. Otherwise, the room was serviceable for the two nights I spent there. The area is a touch noisy with tourists, but it wasn't intolerable.

Always book through hotels.com or other external sites. The manager makes up higher prices (50% higher) when you try to book directly. This is even when you show him the listings and prices on sites like hotels.com. Doesn't have an good answer. Just ignores. Very strange. Otherwise good value.

Steer clear of the 'Budget Room.' It's in the basement between the dining room and the desk in the hallway used as reception. The room is tiny. I could lay in bed, reach out to the side and turn the tap on the tap in the sink. No exageration. Stains on the towel. TV remote didnt work (the staff tried his best, going through a handful of clearly dead batteries). Bed is crazy soft: my back was killing me. The other rooms might be nice but definitely not the budget one. Staff were very nice. I stay in London every week for business. Will be avoiding this one.
