It would be a great stay if the restroom doesn't smell bad. The hotel uses reclaimed water in the toilet so the water still smells. If you don't leave the bathroom vent on constantly, the entire room smells like sewage. Also extremely small room, absolutely no place to unpack, no cabinets, everything stays in luggage.
We reserved a double bed, when we arrived the beds were two singles, when we talked to the front desk, they said they could push the beds together for us. The hotel staff took a long while to come and adjust the beds. The beds had a hard rim around them, impossible to feel like it was 'one bed'. The whole hotel was pretty cheap and we wanted to leave right after arriving, as it was non refundable we stayed one night and looked for a better option. Iclub was a nice hotel in that same price range and we were happy with our experience there. Just don't stay here - the branding and online photos make the hotel look nicer than it is. In really life it is tacky and just horrible.
well. its only 2 subway stops from Hong Kong Central, and actually quite easy to walk there too. good location. zero security. seems like any one could go up elevator from street to any floor. no room card validation needed. and room is decent but mattresses were box mattress that have long been gone in USA. uncomfortable to sleep in. limited TV channels. cant compare to other pricier hotels, but this one is NOT up to Best Western standards, but price is decent.
Very convenient subway, bus, tram, and ferry access, very hot shower water, and the maid still cleans my room when I sleep late and don't leave my room until 2:00PM. Unfortunately, the hotel and the furnishings are a little old, but I have not found anything at a better price. I would rather save money and stay at this Best Western than paying twice the rate to stay at the Courtyard Marriott just north of this hotel. Unfortunately, Orbitz has ruined their website, and it is now impossible to search within neighborhoods in Hong Kong. Previously, one could type 'Hong Kong Island' and the results would only be for Hong Kong Island. Now, the results include everything including Kowloon. One cannot even select specific neighborhoods.
The matress was old and uneven and the staff was not very helpful nor friendly (although it may be due to low english level/understanding)
Overall, this is probably one of the best lower-priced options at a decent location in Hong Kong. The hotel is not fantastic, but the price is good and it has quick access to the subway.
Very convenient location, close to everything, but the room is just too small, can't even fit in any large luggage
Conveniently accessible by free shuttle from airport express Hong Kong Station. However, check-in counters are on the 5th floor, and getting to it by elevators is quite difficult as the elevators are always busy. After check-in, the wait for the elevators is again painfully long.
Its price, facilities and location beat lots of other hotels in Hong Kong.
Just a value hotel in a convenient location. Nothing more. Rooms are very tiny, dark, and not that clean. I could not adjust the temperature in the room. Soaps and shampoos are of very poor quality. Elevators are very slow, and often very crowded. The only good thing about the hotel is that it is located very close to the SYP MTR stop which made getting to anywhere in HK very convenient. If you are on a very tight budget, this is a good hotel. Otherwise, I would recommend spending a few bucks more and staying at one of the other area hotels.
I stayed for 4 nights in this hotel. Got a room with harbour view in the 36th floor. The view is fantastic! The room is not spacious, no cabinet and even no space for a chair. But it is nicely decorated, and very clean. I stayed in other hotels in HK before, and they are all not big in size, so it was ok. If you get a room in a lower floor, go to the rooftop terrace - great view! Specially after sunset.
This was my first time staying in this hotel and got pretty disappointed by the size of the room !!! It was THE SMALLEST HOTEL ROOM THAT I EVER STAYED IN !!! But view of Victoria harbour was so-so
The bathroom is VERY tiny. The bathtub and stall nearly glue together, uncomfortable. HK is an expensive place. But the standards of hotel amenities are far behind from the Japanese. The hotel room interiors reflect HK's streets. It's slightly lower than we expected. The hotel also asked for deposit or credit card information while checking in, although everything has been prepaid. Kind of surprise. I still will book any hotel reservation through your company as a reliable and trusted travel agency for foreign trips.
I stayed in the hotel for one day before moving to my new apartment. The hotel is very clean and stuff is very friendly and helpful. Although the room is small, it has everything needed and I managed to put all my luggage in the room. Bed is very comfortable too.
Every hotel room in which I have stayed in Hong Kong was small. This one was exceptionally so. The gym is the poorest one that I have seen in my worldwide travels. The equipment was cheap with limited capability. I probably literally spent 25 minutes waiting for the elevator over the course of my one day stay. They have a good viewing deck on the 38th floor but they don't open it until 11 AM. Since checkout is at noon, it would help (also with the elevator) if they would open it earlier. On the positive side, it is close to the Macau Ferry terminal and the staff was friendly & efficient.
The hotel stay was fine. Reviews complained how small it was, but many hotels in HK are like that, so it's something you have to deal with. It wasn't unbearable, and after a night, it already feels home-y. Wifi sucks when many people are using it at once, but at wee hours like 5AM, it's pretty good. The showers are small though, and the water falls out so its pretty wet everywhere. Besides that, everything else was fine. Free water everyday was a plus. I'd recommend to any budget traveller!
Decent location and great for business travelers who don't spend very little time in the hotel/room as rooms are small and hotel decor is terrible. Possibly loud at night and in the mornings as this is the haven for massive mainland Chinese tour groups. Despite this, good value and gets the job done. There is also a small gym.
Pretty bad hotel - wifi never works with decent speed. size of room and shower is so small that you can stand and touch all walls. WORST are the lifts that take forever. And the hotel doesn't have heat... they told me to get extra blankets if its cold
After reading several reviews, I was skeptical about Best Western. But you surprised me. I have a very comfortable room on the 27th floor looking out at the harbour (gloomy 2 days though). Bed was comfortable, loved the pillows. Although room was small, it was cosy and very clean! That was exceptional! The staff were very polite - even the shuttles!
Every thing is from fair to good as compared to the rate. Yet the location is a little far from the MTR station. I need to walk 20 mins every time when I want to take the MTR. Yet it will be better once the close by MTR station is opened and it will be only a block away. As the harbor view concern, it is a little bit misleading cause there are two high rise building blocking the view to the center of the Victoria Harbor.
