To be perfectly clear I am unable to rate this property other than the communication which is ABSOLUTELY horrible. Explanation: We were in Havana and leaving one casa to stay at the Casa Hanan Vieja. We made MULTIPLE attempts to contact the owner/property manager to get directions on the check in, both through Expedia and Whatsapp. We received no response. So, we decided to walk to the property to see if we could speak to someone. When we arrived, we were lucky to meet a person who also had a reservation and was waiting for a person to show up to check him in. When the check-in person arrived, we were told that they had double booked the room and our reservation wouldn't be honored. Obviously, my family was left without a place to stay for two nights. What makes this a horrible situation was that the owner of this property absolutely made no attempt to contact us ahead of our reserved dates. And obviously would not pick up on attempts to contact them. I would avoid this situation if possible.

WONDERFUL !!! This property is in the HEART OF HAVANA ! The host Janhna and her husband are extremely attentive to your needs . I’ve been to Cuba 3 times and this is by far the BEST property of ALL.!!!!! I wanted to buy the place !!!! Thanks for everything!!!

apartment close to sights and restaurants

This review is for another apartment where the owner put us upon arrival. It is very similar and in the same zone but larger, and recently renovated. We asked the owner to arrange the airport transfer and he did. The owner is very reliable, and he checked if we needed anything throughout our stay. We are a family with two kids and we felt extremely safe in this neighborhood and throughout the city. The apartment is on the second floor, clean and spacious, two queen beds, internet, the air conditioning (two units) worked great, the bathroom was spacious. There were some complimentary water bottles in the fridge. If you want to stay in this part of Havana, everything is close by. You only need a taxi for Plaza de la Revolucion, Castillo de los tres reyes del morro, beach and Hemingway house. All sights in Old Havana, Central park and Malencon are very close. The cathedral is just down the street, and the other end leads to El museo de la revolucion, which unfortunately is closed for long term renovation. There are many restaurants, even across the street. Some of them are open for breakfast. There is a nice kitchen, fridge and freezer. There are no supermarkets in the area, just small snack shops in people's houses, and a bakery close by. Fruit carts are at every corner. The Old Havana is charming but can be very noisy if you are not used to city life, but if you'd like to be part of real Old Havana life, this is the right place to stay, and we recommend it.
