Tranquility Bay Beachfront Hotel and Resort

Nothing much to do in the surrounding area, ugly area with broken down buildings, little beach is covered with seaweed and smells like rotten fish. Not swimable. Restaurant is nice and cottage was nice but thin walls. Not a place to take a family, poor facility and nothing to do.

Property is very attractive, well maintained and the grounds are nicely manicured. Beach is a nice feature and the Tiki Bar a welcome respite from a busy day. Service has been excellent and the staff very friendly. Highy recommend this hotel/resort.

With a name like Tranquility Bay they should better consider when scheduling maintenance and construction work. There were power tools and hammering during our three day stay that was far from tranquil. There were a few broken chaise lounges and a few tattered umbrellas. The units nearer the shore were nice, the units nearer the road, not so much.

This hotel is very nicely located and has very nice facilities including beach area, pools and water rides. Tiki Bar is really nice. People at the front desk were nice and helpful!

Great Hotel and location. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Only down side, beach is limited to very shallow area, great for small kids but older kids and adults probably not interested. However, there are beaches close by that can fit that bill. We had a wonderful time.

We had a lovely 4 night stay with a beautiful waterview from our porch. The resort was peaceful and quiet with lots of spots to enjoy the views. The condo was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. Local restaurants were great too.

We drove to The Keys....beautiful drive but it's not what it's made out to be. I am SOOOOO glad we stayed here just wish there was a hot tub a more of a beach. Awesome food! No smoking anywhere which was kinda annoying. Very clean, quiet and great!

Just a stop over on our way back from Key West. Wish we could have stayed longer. Perfect place to relax and unwind.

I rented two villas. One waterfront and one waterview at the same time under the same name. I was given two villas at each end of the resort which made the commute a little difficult and separated us a bit instead of uniting us. I spoke to the front desk regarding this, which nothing was done in regards to this. The villas themselves were very spacious and over clean. There were a few little things unclean and some broken, but in all I would stay there again and many of my family members would agree. The beach and pool access was amazing. Truly had a memorable time with my family.

I booked a three bedroom townhome on the waterfront at Tranquility Bay Hotel for a long weekend getaway with three girlfriends. The property is gorgeous and we were basically about 15 steps from the water (there is a long board walk in front of the waterfront townhomes). The interior finishings of the townhome were nice but not over-the-top. Everything was in good working order. There were deep covered porches on both the first and second floor overlooking the water, which were perfect for gathering and watching storms roll in or watching people fish of the boardwalk (we tried our hand and caught two little guys that we threw back right away). The water is so clear that you can see lots of varieties of fish swimming around near the shore. We had dinner at the Tiki beach bar the first night and it was very good. I can't comment on the pools or other restaurant on property because we spent our time on the beach or sitting on the porch of our townhome. We met several of our neighbors and they were all interesting. I have stayed at other properties nearby and this was by far the one I would recommend--it's not as expensive as Hawks Cay but I think the property was just as nice, if a bit smaller.

Hotel was on the ocean with a beautiful pool. The access to jet skis kayak and other water sports on the premise made it so convenient. The Butterfly Cafe was outstanding. Highly recommend this hotel to families

This was the best hotel so far that Ive visited at the keys. The mini town home was beautiful all pools were heated (cold weather) and the rooms were spectacular.

Disappointment for sure, all the one star ratings are unfortunately true.

What a wonderful place to stay!! Location, location, location is awesome, great sun rises - just perfect!

Very expensive for little to no amenities. Charged a daily resort fee for what? There were activities on site but very costly compared to offsite businesses offering same thing. The tiki bar was expensive on drinks and then a 18 gratuity automatically added onto bill. Granted the drink was amazing and the bartender was very pleasant. We had ants the entire time and I have bites all over. We did not get a townhouse just a regular hotel room. No closet and we were supposed to have a garden view. Instead had a view of other townhouses. As others mentioned, there is the smell of turtle hospital next door. The best part of resort is the access to beautiful sunsets.

The hotel was awesome for a big family or group of friends. Perfect spot with everything at your finger tips. The room itself could have been a little cleaner, but overall great spot. I would still come back for another trip.

Very nice resort! Views are gorgeous from every angle. It's great to sit on the porches for breakfast or lunch. Very satisfied with our stay. Would definitely recommend and plan on staying here again!

All the comforts of a rental house without the hassles.

This property is beautiful! However the beach is not a nice area. We had the three bedroom villa and it was perfect the only thing I would change is I would put a television in the third bedroom? Also they should designate an area for smokers as one of the people in our party was a smoker and had to sit in their car to smoke. Overall an excellent place to stay!

Only upon arrival did I learn that this hotel does not offer any accommodations whatsoever for its smoking guests. You are notified by papers that you sign during check in that there will be a 500.00 fine for any smoking in their rooms, ridiculous at best, but that is just the beginning. The placards in the room go on to state that not only are you not allowed to smoke in the rooms but the balconies are off limits as well. There was a placard that said to visit the front desk to inquire where the designated smoking areas were, so my wife who was already a little upset by the idea that she would have to be Inconvienianced by going away from our unit, instead of staying on one of the three balconies that the unit had, went to the front desk and was told " There is NO smoking allowed ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY". This includes the beaches, grassy areas and parking lots. Literally, you must leave the resort to go a have a smoke. When we arrived, our room was not ready, we had bought a fishing pole and some bait and had gone to their pier to do some fishing. It was a fortunate thing that we had not checked in at this point, because my wife had been smoking while we were fishing there but as a courtesy because we were not aware of their policy at that point, they let it slide. So we enjoyed our pre-stay at The hotel, but after check-in, when they already had us by our shorts, paid in advance and having driven over 300 miles to get there, I watched my wife grab her purse almost in tears and walk off hotels grounds, stand on highway 1 where cars are flying by at 50 MPH, no benches, or any other amenities whatsoever offered out there as in ashtrays or windbreaks or weather protections of any kind. We have travelled all over the world, and never have we encountered an experience where my wife was made to feel like a total pariah, unwanted on property, for enjoying a legal product. I would like to point out the obvious. By implying that you visit the front desk for the designated smoking areas, there should actually be some on property, so that in itself is dishonest on the hotels part, why not be upfront about their, loud and proud about their Anti-Smoker Rules? Booking websites should demand that this resort prominently display their smoking policy in their advertisements as to avoid unwary travelers the discomfort of having to endure a stay in this otherwise appealing Hansel and Gretel Candy House that from the outside draws you because of it's inviting beauty and charm, and trust me, the unit itself did not disappoint and was everything that was advertised, but if you happen to be a smoker, or traveling with one, forget about it. We passed many other venues along the way which I am sure would have considered a smoking guest to be just as valuable as a non smoking guest and made some sort of reasonable accommodations, and not just kicked them to the curb, so to speak.
