We went on a short holiday getaway and stayed in the Grand Tuscan suite - it was gorgeous!! The bed was luxurious and super plush, and the fireplace was a nice addition on a cold winter night. The bathtub and steam shower were to die for - my husband never wanted to leave! The villa itself was beautiful, with stunning decor and superb service. Cathy, the hotel manager, was super helpful and friendly - as was all of the staff. They made us feel like we were at home. Having 24/7 access to the gourmet kitchen was definitely a plus - we were able to snack at our leisure and even took some panini sandwiches with us to go! We have been to Bed and Breakfasts up and down the east coast, and I can say for sure that is by far the nicest! We will definitely be back this spring!
Recently stayed at this beautiful quaint B&B while in Chicago for my sons' wedding. The property is like a small escape into a romantic Italian hideaway, right in the heart of Lincoln Park! Our stay was very comfortable and inviting, thanks to Kathy!! Kathy is a warm welcome for the forlorn traveler, welcoming us into her comfortable retreat. Walking through the doors, and you are transported to an Italian estate with the comfort of elegance. The prepared breakfast in the morning was delicious (custom dishes) and the stocked refrigerator a comfort to have available, in addition to the custom coffee blend and wine vat. The bed was very comfortable with the accents of branded robes and slippers I have stayed in resorts throughout the world, and I must say, this ranks among the best. Great job Kathy! We will be back.
Villa D’Citta is a special place. From the Tuscan ambiance to the friendly attentive service, to the outstanding amenities, this is a world-class bed & breakfast. We visited with friends and held a very intimate wedding ceremony in the Villa’s courtyard. Based on the experience, I am confident that it would exceed any traveler’s expectations, even if not for a special occasion like a wedding. We stayed in the Grand Tuscan Suite, which includes a master bedroom, a second bedroom, and an oversized, sumptuous bathroom area. This suite is larger than many of my former apartments! While a romantic experience for us, the suite would also be great for a group outing or girlfriend’s getaway. The décor was beyond tasteful, the beautiful fireplace was a nice touch, and the sunken tub/steam shower a great experience. We enjoyed the breakfasts immensely, both for the food (great breakfast entrees and fresh fruit) as well as the interaction with other guests. Cathy and her team work extremely hard to ensure the guest experience is delightful and hassle-free.
After many trips to Chicago, we had the good fortune to be at the Villa D,Citta for a private wedding that was held there that we were a part of.. The rooms were exquisite and the attention to detail was second to none. Cathy Hartmann and the staff made the experience divine. Doug and Dianne Crusan highly reccomend this beautiful bed and breakfast.

An amazing Villa with a luxurious old world Tuscan style, in a prime location. Nestled in the heart of Chicago's trendy Lincoln Park neighborhood. Such a lovely location, we were able to park two doors away from the hotel. Never having to move our car the whole stay. The entrance to the Villa was rich and magnificent within itsself. As we entered the hotel, the character and the welcoming atmosphere were charming and appealing to all the sences. We were met by Cathy, an amazing warm, kind and compassionate woman.A great conversationalist and very helpful in navigating us around Lincoln Park. Cathy upgraded our rooms without any additional fee and made the whole experience very lovely and easy. She gave us a tour of the Villa. The quality of the accommodations facilities were amazing! She led us into the Chef's Kitchen fully stocked for guest to make afternoon or evening snacks. There was Ice tea and lemonade,Orange juice, and Apple juices,Apples, bananas and oranges.there was yogurt and granola, there was Italian bread and several types of Italian cheeses and salami and pepperoni and Ham,a panini maker...and a wine tap...with quality red wine for a glass of wine or two,all for our use and our pleasure durning our stay. The hotel and our room was stunning and impeccably clean with beautiful wood flooring Our room was exquisite and had a luxurious ambiance...quiet and comfortable, with a fire place and French doors, that led out to the balcony (over looking the Old world style grotto ) and sundeck and hot tub, which we made use of every night and every morning! Our bed may have been the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. The room was equipped with plush robes and slippers for ouruse. Cathy made us the most delicious mouth watering omelet with fresh fruit on the first morning And a wonderful homemade quiche with homemade potatoes... absolutely delicious!!!! We visited the Lincoln park.zoo, which is cute and quaint and the conservatory was filled with the most beautiful plants,we had so much fun! Cathy suggested a couple wonderful places for us to dine at if we wished, in walking distance an Italian resturant,Sapori...cosy with delishous appetizers and good Italian entrees, A Toppas cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba that is fun and hopping. We enjoyed dining at both! On the first night, after dinner We made ourselves ,just a few doors down to the Kingston mines live Blues music club, for some Authentic American blues and dancing...and back to the exquisite Villa D Citta to relax in the hot tub! A prefect evening! There were so many great little shops and different restaurants we truly enjoyed ourselves immensely! Our stay at Villa De Cita was an amazing experience, exceeding our expectations! God bless you Cathy for your kindness! You made us feel at home..We feel so blessed! We are already planning our next visit back and looking most forward to it! Greg and Deborah Wirtley WestChester, Ohio
Great Time. Thank You Cathy We where visiting our son in Chicago last May , I am sorry Cathy for the late review, I apologize!!!! We couldn’t fine any hotel in the city and thanks God this home away from home appeared in my ipad! Thank you Cathy for letting my son have breakfast with us and stay in the living room playing cards with his girlfriend and my niece in the afternoon. We had a wonderful weekend. thanks again Maria From Miami Martina ( the niece) Alvaro (the son)
Cathy is a superb host. The location was perfect. Our first but not last trip to Chicago. City plenty of things to do and see. Cathy was so helpful in giving us top notch places to go for food. The actual Villa Di Chita is in the perfect setting, Cathy made sure we were always taken care of. When we wanted specific oatmeal cookies they were there. We had to leave for the airport early and she made arrangements to have breakfast early. The joy she added to our trip was a highlight. Very kind and extremely helpful and accommodating. Book here to get the best and meet a sweet host. One thing would be to get memory foam mattresses just our preference.
“Wow! What a Surprise! (says Carol B) “My son always finds the best for me” what a beautiful 78th birthday! Cathy welcomed us like family, she went out of her way to give me a memory I will cherish forever. Villa D’ Citta is Beautiful... also, I slept better than ever! I would most certainly recommend!! 5 stars!
I am so sad I didn’t find this place sooner in all of my Chicago travels! Cathy is a wonderful host, so accommodating and kind! The pictures are accurate on all sites. It’s beautiful & immaculately maintained.
I booked a room here with the intention of attending a concert at Park West. Unfortunately, the concert was canceled. The plus to this was I found out how centrally located Villa D’ Cilla is. It is next to DePaul Unversity. Minutes from downtown or Wrigleyville by car,and within walking distance of Kingston Mines. The house was awesome. Kathy very knowledgeable of Chicago and very hospitable. The only minus was the room temperature. It was a humid midwestern night and the air conditioning didn’t seem reach the bedroom at all.
