Hotel staff was very friendly, room was clean, nice bar with some cool drinks, elevators were fast and never an issue waiting for one (and we stayed on top floor). Location was great, several restaurants right outside the hotel and shopping extremely close. Michigan avenue is a block away and you're right on the northern end of it. Would definitey stay again, great overall stay!

My fiance and I stayed here for one night and we absolutely loved it ! It was his first time in Chicago and the view from our room was gorgeous=)the hotels location is great and close to many restaurants also the staff was so friendly and accommodating to all of our needs. We would have gladly stayed here another night.

First visit to Chicago and chose the Thompson randomly from among top rated hotels. Great choice! Staff couldn't have been nicer and I was upgraded to a penthouse suite at no extra charge. Now that's a hotel that goes the extra mile!

My boyfriend and I decided to stay here for our 3 year anniversary. The hotel was beautiful. Perfect location for our plans, beautiful lobby, friendly staff. We booked a corner king suite which was just as beautiful and modern as the rest of the hotel. The view was breathtaking. We were discussing if we were going to stay an additional night because of how much we liked the hotel. That was until we slept on that rock hard bed and pillows the were all air. My boyfriend and I woke up every hour in pain. Today, we are suffering from terrible back and neck pain. Needless the say, Thompson Hotel did not get another nights stay our of us. How could you charge 350+ dollars for a room with a bed that causes your guests pain and sleeplessness. Thanks Thompson. We cannot explore the city like we wanted to today. Instead, we are making our way home to a real bed.

Hotel is clean and comfortable. It is also very walkable (if you're a walker!) to Navy Pier and various neighborhoods. Would stay there again.

For a 2-night stay in town, this was an excellent choice -- great location, comfortable room, and hip vibe. My 9-year old daughter especially enjoyed the milk and cookies late night snack (complimentary) when we arrived.

I've stayed in Chicago a number of times, but this was my first time at the Thompson. It's definitely the best place I've stayed in the city. Convenient, modern, and wonderful staff make this hotel an amazing place to go.

very handsome, clean hotel. nice restaurant too. great friendly front door/valet staff very walkable to attractions, restaurants, etc.

Beautiful room, great bathroom with huge rain shower, everything was in impeccable condition and great wuality. Very nice personnel. The restaurant downstairs is excellent (Nico), highly recommended!

We spent four days at the Thompson. We were on the ninth floor, and the view was nice. The hotel staff was great, very attentive and responsive. The restaurant was fantastic. We love to walk, and we were able to do so to every place we wanted to visit, such as the museums, Navy Pier, etc., never walking more than about two miles or so...

The room was great, with a terrific layout and wonderful view of the city and some of Lake Michigan.

Overall, really nice boutique hotel with a great vibe. Nice change from the "corporate" hotels you end up staying at for business travel. Only thing I would critique is I wish their desks were a little bit larger - felt like an afterthought.

Treated like royalty on our first visit (anniversary) and decided to come back this past week for the same occasion. Nothing fell short of our expectations- if anything, they raised the bar even higher! Every trip to Chicago for the rest of my life will have me booking a room here. Get yourself a corner king and grab a bite at Nico while you're in town. You may also want to start saving for a full bathroom remodel- after using theirs, yours will feel like a locker room. Endless praise for this entire establishment- we'll be back soon!

Everything was perfect this weekend. Our first room was noisy and the staff was very sympathetic and moved us to a quieter room on a higher floor. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating and the rooms are very comfortable. The location is perfect! (I grew up one block from here.) This is my second stay at this hotel and I will be back.

The Thompson stay was fantastic. Location excellent, staff extremely helpful and restaurant delicious. Our corner room on the 21st floor was beautiful.

Very nice Room design and architecture, fancy, perfectly well located - bar is great..., etc.

Love coming & eating on Rush Street! Relax in the park or go walk tithe beach, perfect hotel!

This hotel was in the perfect location. We shopped and dined at the best places in town and it was all walking distance. We took a cab to millineum park and the Willis tower. The original pancake house is right across the street and a great start to the day! Some good dinner options are Gibsons and Hugo Frogs also right across the street. The Thompson hotel was great! The staff was friendly the room was clean and we loved the decore! We heard the hotel restaraunt is great but was booked when we stayed so make a reservation ahead of time!

We absolutely LOVE The Chicago Thompson. We love how unique the rooms are, and that they are designed with an inspiration from men's suiting. Also, literally you could NOT ask for a better location. Niko is also one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago at the moment. Win win win! Only thing I could sugeest is that they remove that darn anti-scalf button from the rooms. It was my husband and I, and also our best friends staying at the hotel this time. They ended up with cold showers because of it. Nobody told us about them, and there was no sign anywhere.

The location is the best in the Gold Coast area. Close to everything that you would want. Food, bars, shops and walking distant to the Mag Mile. The out side bellman is the best.(can't remember his name and has amustache). He is an older gentleman who is funny as well as a class act. He is truly a great asset to your hotel. Got us a cab and then would not let us use this particular cab as he didn't appreciate the way the cabbie was going to be. Grumpy and not very interested in providing us out of towners with a fun ride. Love how he thought that we would not enjoy the ride. Thinking ahead for us
