I travel to Chicago at least once a year. This was my first stay at the Thompson and it won’t be my last. I loved it!! Perfect location… Near great restaurants, shopping, convenience stores… the list goes on. From the front desk to the restaurant/bar employees. Everything was on point!!

Spent one night at the Thompson. Valet and luggage service at arrival was great, very helpful (we had multiple bags and a bicycle). Check in was also helpful, and made sure to alert us that one elevator was out of service, so there was a complimentary drink offered in the bar. Room was spacious, comfortable and well-designed, except the lighting. There was no lamp or light anywhere near the desk. This made it difficult to do any work in the evening. Other than that, we loved the room. When we left, we had great assistance from hotel staff with our luggage. However, it took over 30 minutes to get our car from the valet. The hotel staff and valet personnel were very attentive and continued to provide updates on the status of the vehicle, but seemed confused why it was taking so long to bring the car around. Overall, it was a great stay and the delay with the car was not a big issue for us (but if we had a flight to catch, that could have been a different story).
There is one elevator that has been out of service for months. You have to wait a long time to be able to use the remaining one.
Besides one of the 2 elevators that operate in the building being out of order the whole entire time we were here, everything else was amazing! Staff was friendly and courteous. Views were amazing. Beds were extremely comfortable. I say beds with an s because we got upgraded to a suite after the first night! Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay! Location is great. In walking distance of Michigan Ave which offset some of the cost for parking. I would recommend and would stay again. Kevin was very helpful and pleasant when we checked-in. Kudos to him!
The Thompson Chicago was delightful. Great location just off Rush and a stone's throw to great dining options, including one right in the hotel, and an easy walk to Michigan Avenue. Decor is contemporary but still warm; great mattress, linens, shower, etc. After many trips to Chicago over the years this was our first stay at the Thompson and we've decided it's our new go-to hotel.
