Room and building were not very clean but location was great

Great location but the hotel is obviously very old. My room was not cleaned at all the first day until 6:00 when housekeeping tried to get in the room.

Pretty cool hotel! Definitely older but the staff was extremely nice and helpful! I did love the tall ceilings too! If you want to be right downtown by the shopping I would stay closer to that area (I believe north of where this hotel was) but if you don’t this is a great hotel to stay at! Only probably 8 min (25 min walk) from the shopping!

The view from our room was Amazing!! The only complaint I would have is the early morning city noise! New windows maybe? Some appliances could be improved, but overall happy with my experience.

The hallways are a bit creepy but the rooms are beautiful

Great and love the history! It is like stepping back in time! REDRUM...

Great location, reasonably priced. Many rooms do not have view, but I actually prefer those type because there is less street noise. Further, you have all the view you want just outside. Room very, very comfortable Relatively quiet, you could barely hear the "L", and when you did, it sounded like a soothing rain. Lobby, elevators and rooms are up to date and in great shape; the halls and their carpet are a little worn. I have stayed their before and definitely would stay again.

The hotel had Historical charm the room I was given was very worn room. When I received the room, shortly after inspecting the room I returned back to the front desk to ask for another room that was more recently updated. I was told even without checking that they were sold out and I should check again the next day. About an hour later I watched at least 12 more check-ins so the rooons were available

The hotel itself is docent and centrally location but very noisy if your room is facing Michigan Ave.

Nice location and view of street and gardens. Walking distance of many great attractions

I liked it. Very good location! Very good service.

Beautiful, historic hotel in a great location! I stayed for two nights and truly enjoyed my visit. I received a room in the North Tower, facing the lake. The room was clean and the hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel is one of the oldest in Chicago, so there are some things that are a little outdated (the bathroom was tiny and some fixtures that weren't terribly modern), but who cares?! With the history of the hotel and all of the urban legends surrounding it, I wouldn't want to stay in a cookie cutter hotel. Well done, Congress Plaza!

The Hotel rooms are a step back in time to the 1920s. It needs a serious renovation, everything was so dated in the room. Way overpriced

Great location. Close enough to walk to many popular sites. The hotel lobby area seemed nice but the hallways, elevators, doors, etc could use some repair. The room was a typical hotel room. For the price, worth the stay to be close to attractions. I’d stay again for that reason.

The locations was convenient - Close to Art Institute and Grant Park.

I was getting married , the upgraded me to a nicer room on the highest floor . The view was breathtaking. They gave me and my bridal party free breakfast coupons . The night before I got married my friends and I decided to explore the hotel . Let’s just say the hotel got me ! It’s really haunted , and scared the crap out of me ! Security did chase us down we went so deep in the hotel ! If you’re looking for the paranormal it’s definitely there . Honestly I don’t think the ghosts like it too much though . I still haven’t slept right !

Great location and a clean room that had been updated since the last time I stayed here, which was a few years ago.

The check in time to wait was a bit extensive. Overall, pretty good experience & great location.

Great hotel in the heart of Chicago. Easy check in and check out process. Great view of the lake from our room. Easy to control the temperature in the room. Cabs were available in the front of the hotel most of the time.
