Nice historic hotel close to everything. Friendly staff.

The hotel is in a good location however it is similar to staying at a motel.

Hotel is very well located. Staff is very nice and friendly. Rooms are old but seem they are working on renovating them.

Solidly okay stay. I booked a Single Queen room through Orbitz, but when I arrived I realized I'd been put in a Double. I went back to the front desk and they told me they'd put me in a Double because I selected "Queen" and only the Double rooms had Queen beds, and that the other single rooms were Full size beds. I told them that I preferred a Full Single than Double Queens, and they very kindly ended up putting me in a King Single. Hotel is old but clean. Only complaint with the room was that the carpet didn't seem dirty but felt gross so I didn't like walking on it without socks. I asked for the nearest ATM at the front desk and was told there was one right by Reception, which there was, but when I got there it was out of order. Great location, close to lots of great food and sights.

this hotel has a nice location and old world charm

The hotel is in a good location and the price was very good. However, the room that I was placed in was beside the ice machine so there was noise at random times that was loud enough to wake me. The room also had a view of the roof and nothing else.

Terrible experience, couldn’t be worse !! Very bad value for money ! No amenities, no microwave in the room , no hot water , heater was not working in the winter , very old heater system that you can’t control the temperature in your own room , centrally controlled in the front desk!! Receptionist were very rude, they spare the good rooms to certain guests and otherwise give you a bad room !!! Very old TV , the gore should be totally renovated! Doesn’t worth 1/4 of the money I paid for it !

It was a terrible experience. The room they checked me in didn’t have a hot water , no nice view despite I asked the receptionist for this . The hotel is very old and never renovated, no microwave, very old TV. Totally different from what they show on the website. When I wrote a complaint to Orbitz the hotel tried to change my room , unfortunately they changed it to a much smaller room , despite having lake front view but the heater wasn’t working in the winter , it was incredibly cold in Chicago. I was extremely disappointed. The receptionist told me sorry we don’t have any of the good rooms available , which implies that they have 2 types of rooms good and bad and they keep the good ones for special guests

Quick, courteous and helpful . Great location for theatre goers

The hotel staff were nice but the hotel itself was very expensive

Great hotel right in the middle of everything! Easy access to museums.

This property is old and she's showing her age. I like the elegant atmosphere of the the lobby, but the hallways and rooms are definitely in need of some TLC. The location can't be beat and for one night it was fine. Loved the history of the place!

hotel lobby is nice, but we did not have AC and the hotel's response was to open the windows. TV was small. Bath was OK. Room was dated.

Great location but needs some serious updating. The elevators are severely aged and appear as if they might break and the walls are cracked and need a fresh coat of paint. Good place to stay for a solo business trip.

A lively surprise! Clean quiet room at an affordable price.

Room and building were not very clean but location was great

Great location but the hotel is obviously very old. My room was not cleaned at all the first day until 6:00 when housekeeping tried to get in the room.
