Location was great, no ability to control heat or ac in your room though. felt stuffy and hot

Haunted reputation.

Old, quintessential Chicago with a beautiful view of the Sears Tower. Location cant be beat (walk to the Bean and Lake Mich.), and we got a kick out of reading the reviews of the hotel's hauntings. That said, the breakfast was lacking (one day only Decaf), the towels had stains (as did the bedspread), room had only shampoo. For the price though, we were pleased overall.

The hotel’s location on S. Michigan Ave. across from Grant Park, 2 blocks south of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a half mile walk to the Magnificent Mile made it a wonderful location. The front desk attendants and the bellhops were very courteous and helpful. Our room was nice, but with no AC, which was our only complaint. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was great. There was a decent breakfast with very pleasant attendants there. We will stay here again!

We had to pay parking 35 per night. We didn’t get a decent view for the price.

We had a wonderful time staying at the Congress. My Autistic son wanted to stay there to see Al Capone's ghost. Sadly, we did not see a ghost, but we did get to check out some other area's of the hotel with security and every staff member my son asked about the hotel entertained him by telling him he could look somewhere or they told him a scary story. We will definitely be coming back to stay at the Congress!

The hotel was very chaotic. It was too busy to be safe during covid that’s for sure. Only one small elevator worked so we found our selves waiting for over 5 mins for the elevator that we that we then had to then jam our selves in with lot of other people. This hotel attracts a younger crowd it seams due to the lower price so it was very crazy and loud not in a fun way. The security at the front is reassuring and needed it seemed. Our TV didn’t work but we were to busy to really need it. Easy location to get around.

Historic property. Elegant lobby. Unfortunately, rooms badly need upgrades. Clean but it feels like your hotel room is in 1985.

Normal

apparently there were parades and protests the whole week. the hotel did say anything about this when i checked in. the noise from outside (hundreds of cars honking and people yelling, fireworks being shot off in front of the hotel) was so bad that i had to change hotels at 10:30 at night. they wouldn't refund or discount the cost of the room. also, parking was $45 A DAY.

It had a smell on 2 of the rooms i booked. I also had issues with booking i was in the phone for over an hour to change my stay. N i felt like it was a lot for that hotel.

It is clean but in general pretty old and room not updated.

This was a very beautiful hotel. However, our room wasn't all that clean. There was alot of hair on the bathroom floor and the ceiling was falling apart. But the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous
