Beautiful boutique hotel with unique vintage touches, great art and close to everything.
Enjoyed a paper in the morning! The front desk staff were terrific to deal with.
I was in Chicago for a quick overnight trip and the Kimpton made it very convenient for public transportation. Staff very friendly as well..... Excellent choice!
Right in the middle of everything, and easy to get around. Staff was ultra helpful and polite.
A great classic Chicago building outstandingly converted into an extremely comfortable hotel. Great location. User friendly rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant served fantastic food at both breakfast and dinner.
Great hotel with a great downtown location. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
A lovely hotel with a historic past located in the heart of the city -- Modern in design, the rooms are small but the windows are big giving a spaciousness to compensate for the crowdedness when two people are sharing a room -- If you like urban views and the ability to walk to the Art Institute or over to Lake Michigan or jump on a subway, this is the place to say
We wanted a hotel in the Loop for a night so we could enjoy a show & do some shopping & walking. The Burnham was perfect. The room was very nice & quite quiet for being on the 3rd floor corner of Washington & State. The staff was great & the location of hard to beat if the Loop is your destination. We were able to walk everywhere we needed to go & we will definitely be back!
If you're looking to spend some time in the Loop, go for the Burnham! Prices are generally good, if you can find a deal. The building has a lot of character and exhales the Chicago vibe. Staff is always attentive and friendly. Make sure to stop at Atwood downstairs for great cocktails and good food! Only con for me is the fact that you gotta pay for internet.. when even your corner coffee shop gives you free wi-fi!!
The building is beautifully ornate. For the price and location, there are better hotels in Chicago. The shower is uncomfortable slim, one had to bend their ankles or stand sideways to be in the shower. The happy hour is limited to two cheap California wines. Their tv channel selection is very limited. Holiday Inn's have more choices. No idea why this hotel was rated highly USA today and World Reports.
We had an amazing stay at Burnham! We were charmed by the staff! The doggie treats for our canine babies made our day! Let's not forget the great food at Atwood! Pasta was delicious! Definitely staying there again! Thank you!
We loved the hotel's mix of old and new. Location was excellent! Free wifi with rewards card is perfect. The staff were very friendly. Very clean which is a must with us. Wine hour is nice and coffee is good!
The staff was friendly and accommodating. They offered suggestions and dircections multiple times. It was a great location and we loved our stay!
We loved this boutique hotel in the heart of Chicago. The hotels been recently renovated, keeping the architectural features (great mosaic floors, iron grillwork and old wood trim) while bringing in a modern feel. The rooms weren't large but were very comfortable. The staff were so pleasant and helpful. Especially loved the feather pillows (optional) and wine at happy hour (not optional!).
We've stayed here a few times and the hotel never disappoints us with its high service standard. It offers afternoon wine aperitifs and lovely service. The front desk is always helpful and friendly directing us to shows and good restaurants. The location is the best in town and is steps away from Nordstroms, Abercrombie and other major retailers and a block away from the Oriental and Chicago theaters.
this hotel was clean and so close to everything the staff is awesome
Especially for first-time visitors to Chicago, it was exciting to stay in a landmark, architecturally significant building in a perfect location. Our room had a view of the old Marshall Field's and Carson Pirie Scott department stores (now Macy's and Target, respectively) and even a glimpse of Lake Michigan. That said, we felt that the fact that the hotel restaurant was closed for renovations ought to have been disclosed when we made our reservations. Also, the room was a bit shabby, with worn and (lightly) stained carpeting. Housekeeping improved after asking the (very polite and helpful) maid for more soap and drinking glasses. Although the nighttime desk clerk was surly, other staff were cheerful and obliging. All in all, a good experience primarily on the basis of location and price. When the restaurant reopens, it'll be better yet.
The title says it all. It's also a perfect location to explore the city. The building preserves the feeling of old style quality and provides all the modern comforts one would expect. The staff provide excellent service with very human/personal touches. Our second time there. We will most definetly return.
Everything was great! Staff were extremely friendly. Service was amazing. Price couldn't have gotten any better. Location just right.
Loved the location and the comfortable feel of the hotel in a beautiful historic building. The rooms are a bit small, but had all of the amenities you would expect. An excellent value in Chicago!
