We stayed here 2 years ago and it was fabulous - it appears that it has not been maintained since. Its seen better days. That said, the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, it was clean and the location is great. Close to bus station and some really cheap restaurants. The air con worked well. TV had loads of cable channels. The water was never hot - just luke warm. WiFi is free in the reception and around the pool - not in the rooms. For the price I would stay here again.
I booked this hotel with booking.com and the confirmed the would pick me up from the airport when I landed. I arrived at 2am so tired and there was nobody there to pick me up. When I called they said “they don’t do pick ups” even though they confirmed by email. They then proceeded to tell me they are full and have no room for me even though I had a room already booked weeks in advance. They did not even apologise and were so unhelpful. Do not stay here! So rude and unprofessional and unreliable. Never had a worse experience.
If you're ok with cockroaches then it's adequate. Beds are adequate. Tv worked but in black and white and slightly fuzzy. Ac worked well. Old fashioned simple keyed knob lock. No elevator. Free breakfast, 2 slices of toast and ham. Horrible coffee, no cream, watered down orange juice from frozen concentrate. Kids were given nothing. They told us kids were $3 US each. FYI that will get you full meal at most street/plaza vendors. As in 2 full meals for $6. Pro: cold water in lobby as is internet. Cons: everything else except adequate bed. Actually front desk staff were kind and tried to help as best they could. Recommendation: do not come here with kids, hostels are better for beds and wifi, would never come back.
I got this room from Trip Advisor which led me to book it through Snap Travel. Snap Travel messaged me on Facebook to book the room. I had never used Snap Travel before. Upon arriving at Hacienda Hotel, my boyfriend and I thought the hotel was very quaint and colorful. The hotel had bright orange walls and huge indoor plants reaching the ceiling. The lobby was air conditioned. We noticed that there was a long wait to check in and several people were waiting in front of us. The front desk had two staff members but only one of them seemed to know what he was doing. After about thirty minutes we finally got to the front desk and they told us they couldn't find our reservation. We showed our email confirmation and the booking number but they still couldn't find it. We were put to the side while they tried to find it and simultaneously help other hotel goers. I was feeling sick from scuba diving and waited on a long couch with a coffee table full of books. It took almost 2 hours to be able to go to our room and by then they still hadn't found our reservation. We gave a deposit for the room just so I could lay down. We did feel bad for the guy behind the desk. At that point, his friend who didn't really know what to do had left and it was just him. His manager was yelling at him to find our reservation. He eventually found our reservation hours later and we got the deposit back. Despite the extremely long and chaotic check-in process, the room was comfortable and air-conditioned. We stayed in Mexico for 16 days and this hotel had by far the most comfortable bed we slept it. You sank into the mattress and the pillows were fluffy. The shower had hot water and good water pressure. We only stayed one night so we did not get a good look at the rest of the hotel or pool, but we did manage to look at the pool quickly before going to dinner at a delicious Indian restaurant next door. The backyard was set up like an oasis with a pool in the middle, shaded by trees. Overall, it was a comfortable stay albeit the check-in process was a long and drawn out process.
Didn't see anything about air conditioning in the room, since we weren´t going to be there all day anyway, I was surprised it DID have one worked fine no issues...TV only had about 5 channels...a good light breakfast included...bad thing at the end of the stay the cleaning girl lost my towels (3 days before) so I was charged even though the timeline didn't match up. The wifi was in the lobby and pool, signal was not so good up on the second floor
A clean simple hotel with friendly staff in a good location for exploring downtown Cancun. Very simple breakfast by the pool. Comfatable beds and decent air conditioning. Bed linen and towels where clean and good quality.
First, I will mention the only thing I found good about the hotel. A very friendly staff, most seemed to be English speaking. Unusual for a Budget hotel. Now for the not so good. At reception she asked to look at my cellular hotel confirmation to see the price. I suspect, due to the low price, I was given the worst room. At least hope the others are better. She informed me no TV and said it should not matter much since only 3 channels. Find that one difficult to believe. VERY basic room but appeared to be clean. Air conditioner very hard to regulate. No inside security lock on the door. Two dim lights above the bed and nothing more. Quite a bit of noise from the pool well after the posted closing time. Confirmation said breakfast included. That was a joke. Breakfast was two pieces of toast, coffee and a serve yourself , cheap orange drink. And the breakfast attendant was trying to sell some packets of what he said were health drink mixes and was quite aggressive. I also complained about the taxi drivers allowed to stay in the lobby who would not take no for an answer. I never use taxis at a hotel or the prices are often double of what you can easily flag down on the street. If the price is low and you just need a few hours sleep, this could be ok. Otherwise to elsewhere.

Our first hotel at Cancun and I've realized we're back to our backpackers times ;). Staff was friendly, room small and bit stinky, breakfast basic. Swimming pool was available but somehow none of us felt plunging into it.
