Pool was lovely, many places to sit that were shaded. There was opportunity for a variety of activities. We did an art class. We did kayaking. We did an astronomy class. We did mixology class. We went to the evening shows. The magician show was particularly good and engaging.

My daughter recently had her sweet 16 there and I cannot say enough good things about their concierge they went above and beyond to decorate our room with balloons that we ordered. And it was already there when we checked in despite the short amount of time we requested it. Abigail, I believe her name was even delivered her cake in the restaurant where we ate dinner. She’s excellent! Unfortunately, the downside of our stay was The buffet food was NOT delectable (it sucked)! The restaurants only open for dinner so we have to eat the buffet food. Not a lot of options either. I’ve been to many hotels who have a huge and delicious selections so this one did not impress us at all. Chez MOi was super delicious and became our favorite. The hotel itself is massive and clean. The staff were excellent except for some of the desk receptionists who can improve in their social skilll—a little bit snotty. You cannot swim in their beach. Although they clean it, it still has a lot of seaweed and brownish algae. It reeked when we were there. However, the pool makes up for it. It’s an endless stretched of seawater. The staff on the pool were attentive and helpful. There are some limitations where you can swim bec they segregate the vacation package owners and the regular customers. The spa was amazing. The hotel itself is still under construction so they can still improve. Warning though, they will let you purchase their vacation packages. I was one of them. No regrets. ;)

Our family vacation to Ava exceeded expectations! The customer service everywhere was a 10/10 and they made it their mission to ensure we had the best time! We spent five nights in August with our kids, 11 & 15, on their first trip to Cancun. The F&F suite was ideal, and the resort felt unique, walkable, and packed with indoor activities across both the north and south sides. The kids loved the pool, teen lounge, food, laser tag, and bowling, while my husband and I enjoyed the daily entertainment at the north pool, the gym, coffee shop, and relaxing spa massages. Dinners at Black Iron, Veranda, and Kita were outstanding. As loyal Unico 2087 guests, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed Ava as a family stay. Although the sargassum was unsightly and occasionally smelled bad (not Ava’s fault), and music played frequently (which we expected), neither detracted from our experience. The only downside was that poolside food and buffet-only breakfast and lunch options could have been better. Overall, we would recommend Ava and would happily return!

Bars and Food servicers by the pools are closed by 6 pm - after that no service at all. Why would someone go to Cancun and not have pool side servicer beyond 6 pm? Also, all restaurants keeps saying they are full and do not have reservations while having bunch of tables open all the time. it appears that they want to push as many people possible to Buffet restaurants.

Service made the difference.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ava resort. Service was excellent for the most part. Housekeeping was average and slow to respond. The beach also was full of seaweed and therefore, we did not go. The Lagoon made the difference.

The food at the buffet where you eat for breakfast and lunch was bland and subpar. The restaurants were good though especially the French, the steakhouse and the tepoanyaki grill. They had a show every night at their theater which we enjoyed. Overall, the hotel was impressive, clean and service was excellent. They will try to lure you to buy vacation packages for their hotel by offering free spas. If you like the experience, go purchase them otherwise, don’t even attend the “ seminar “ for it. You will waste a day of your stay there just for that.
