I booked a 3 night stay at this hotel a few months ago at a rate which I admit was nonrefundable. Just 2 days before we were to leave we had a very unexpected death in the family and had to cancel the trip for the funeral. I called and asked, given the circumstances, if there was any way we could cancel or reschedule. I was told by the front desk they would cancel my stay BUT I would still be charged. Given I had stayed there many times and had always given them positive reviews I thought they would work with me or at least offered condolences. Instead I was given a smart response and no sympathy. This was bad customer service especially given this hotel is right next to a casino and the room could have been booked at a much higher rate with little or no trouble.
We had a cheer competition in Baltimore but chose to stay here. My second stay at hotel. Only reason no 5 Star is my neighbors sexual experience kept us up for 29 minutes but security quickly came when we called them and complained!
Only positives to say about this hotel the staff if really friendly and the stay was warnand welcoming. I would come back on stay here. You can take your family here if you taking a vacation in baltimore. Its located near the car rental offices and BWI Airport.
As of right, now my fiance and my are extremely disappointed with this hotel. I met a representative named Ellie at a bridal expo, and she said she'd be happy to help us block off rooms for our guests coming to our wedding. My fiance has contacted her numerous times, but she either doesn't contact him back when she says she will or ignores him completely. We were hoping we could also book a room for us since it's so close to the airport, and we'll be leaving for our honeymoon the next morning. But that's impossible if the staff never has time for you. I'm sure the hotel itself is perfect however Ellie is making this extremely difficult. I would discourage any bride to avoid blocking off rooms at this establishment unless management takes serious steps in hiring individuals who will actually do their job. Since, this site required me to pick a day of travel I chose February since it's the months we've been unsuccessfully working with Ellie.
I checked into this Residence Inn on 19 February late in the afternoon. The young lady who greeted me at the front desk was so very courteous and kind. Great First impression-- A+ I immediately felt right at home. I stayed in Suite 421. The "Social" that evening was a pleasant surprise. I really like the idea of having a pool table in a separate billiards room. Our suite was very comfortable. The bed was made up very nicely and was comfortable. The Sofa bed in the living room was very comfortable as well. The kitchen and appliances were spotlessly clean and looked practically brand new. The bathroom was very clean and well supplied. Certainly not the hotel's fault, but there was a constant vibration that started early in the morning that awoke me from my sleep. I didn't have my glasses on, but I believe the bedside alarm clock showed 4:30 AM. This vibration felt like the constant vibration of a Compressor of some sort or a large diesel engine very near by. This vibration rattled the windows, glasses on the kitchen counter and even the door on the circuit breaker box. This vibration came from outside the hotel and lasted over an hour. While it may be a coincidence, the vibration stopped after the U.S. Foods truck left the parking lot. While I observed heavy airplane traffic through the window, the hotel was very quiet inside. I could not hear the airplanes at all and there was no vibration when the planes were landing/taking off. Other than the "mystery vibration", the hotel was very quiet. No noise from people in the hallway and no noise from adjacent guest rooms. Breakfast was very good. The scrambled eggs were hot and delicious. I however did Not like either of the 2 breakfast meats offered. I would have liked to have had Bacon. I heard other guests echoing my same opinion, Juices, coffee, waffles, yogurt, oatmeal and everything else was "top shelf". I had a very pleasant visit and highly recommend this Residence Inn.
Needed a few rooms near BWI for a couple of night and this place fit the bill. Nothing really extraordinary either good or bad a very vanilla experience. Room was quite noisy overlooking the interstate, arrived late and this was the only available room, you'd think they might put their Platinum guests on the quieter side. Breakfast was RI standard, seating however was very (very, very) limited. Only two tables for 4, both occupied, this lead to balancing of plates on one's knees in the lobby. Not really a gripe of the hotel, but this area is a desert for food and bev. Aside from a couple of plastic menu national chains (Olive Garden, Longhorn) there really wasn't much around for miles. Nothing whatsoever walkable from the property on a very cold January morning. I'd stay again, but honestly would scope out the surroundings a bit more.
We reserved this room via Priceline for the night before a flight to Cancun. The room was a King studio. While we were only there for one night, I could see it being very comfortable for a longer stay. The room was very clean with a nice kitchen area that would be excellent for longer stays. The bathroom was clean, though the shower curtain was very weird - the inner liner stopped well short of the tub and allowed quite a bit of water to splash out onto the floor.
I don't understand it...Stayed in September and wrote a review but decided not to publish it until I gave them a chance to talk with Corporate and a manager and hopefully they would fix the NUMEROUS issues with our first stay. Went back the last week of December and did not request, but was given the SAME room as before (#415-did not realize this until later in the stay). In September we stayed in this room which had filthy sheets, non working/working safe (items locked in) and a fireplace that did NOT work. We requested and stayed at this hotel at that time because of the in room safes/fireplace. Out of our 3 night stay in September, we had to call numerous times for the safe not working, locking our items in and the fireplace not being lit...needless to say, we won't even discuss the filthy sheets left on a made up bed. Move forward to December 28. Phoned days before arriving and requested early check in and asked to verify we would have a working fire place in our room, "yes" to the fireplace and to check later for early check in (didn't understand this as reservations were made through the Marriott website and requested). When entering our room, not remembering which room we were in September, my friend said is this the same room we stayed in before? Not sure at that time, I said no I guess they are all decorated the same. First thing I did was checked the sheets (clean this time) and the safe to make sure it worked. Next was the fireplace, SMH, it did NOT work and we phoned maintenance. They came up, stated oh it needs a piece (same story as in September) and he said just let it run, which we did until we went out. We returned that night and again, called maintenance to start the fireplace again. Was given the "oh it needs a piece but if it cuts off it should turn back on." Next morning, attempted to turn it on again and finally went down to talk to the person at the desk, whom said they were a Manager and was informed, "the engineer will be here and I will send him up to repair it." Never happened. No engineer Friday or Saturday. We had this issue in our room in September. Finally on Saturday morning I pulled up my receipts from our September visit and realized 415 was the same room we stayed in September and in those months, the fireplace had NOT been repaired after NUMEROUS reports at that visit. I was livid. Not only had we asked at the front desk did it work and was told yes, phoned prior to arriving and specially stated we wanted one that worked. Next on to Sunday breakfast...what a mess. Went down at 9:00 am and out of coffee and over 25 minute wait for more, visitors complaining about the lack of utensils, cold food and running out of items. Not sure what happened on this day, but it seemed the normal crew was not at work and after getting cold eggs and bacon, decided I would grab something after checking out. Room overall was good this go around and though the idea of having a fireplace in the room on a 20 degree night would be great, I can't see myself staying here again as evidently management does NOT take the issues raised serious and though they may respond, they don't get repaired. Gave it a 3 due to agreeing with other reviews, the check-in desk needs addressing.
I just recently stayed here for one night. I’ll give you the in-bias reasoning then go into why i gave it two stars. Room: very spacious, clean, and has everything you need for a long term stay in the future: kitchen utensils, plates, stove, full fridge and dishwashing machine Location: it’s across the street from the center of everything: the casino, the mall, cinema, Dave & Busters, Medieval Times and every restaurant available for your taste buds. Hotel: Nice lobby, gym is sizeable. I wasn’t able to critique the pool or outside area given the cold weather but imagine it’s nice during the warm months Why i gave it 2 stars-Front Desk and Customer Service- I’ve worked/still work in customer service all my life(a part of it was working in Hospitality as hotel manager at Extended Stay My passion is helping those in whatever way we can. But i felt the front desk staff was careless and not compassionate about helping me. 1st issue: when i checked in they had one credit card on file and when i spoke Jason(new FD personnel) i told him that I’m changing credit card info so he took the new card and gave me my keys and i was on my way. I later get an alert at 4am that they were running the wrong card. So i called front desk and told them i gave them a different card when i checked in. They requested i come to the FD(at 4am mind you) to bring my ID and new card. So once that was done i was fine.(or so i thought). Once i left i get another notification that the card i didn’t want charged..WAS CHARGED A THIRD TIME. I called immediately and told them that’s not the card i gave them and they need to fix it. 2nd issue: i left my sneakers in the room and given that they were rushing me out the room i wasn’t paying attention to my routine “check the room”. So i left and realized i didn’t have them. I called the hotel and spoke to Jason who had me hold to get the housekeeping log. So I’m on hold and the call gets dropped. I called back and was trying to tell him that the call Got dropped. I’m assuming he was annoyed because he kept cutting me off so i can explain myself. Nvm that but then i get on the phone with an agent “Mia”(can’t remember her name) and she’s saying that they can’t go into the Lost & Found locker because it’s locked up by housekeeping. Personally i thought that’s BS cuz if someone leaves something and needs to come back to get it everyone should have access but i digress. I told her well I’m 3 hours away can you please call housekeeping to see if they saw them so i can come pick them up. But her attitude and condescending tone was making me more mad because she was basically saying there’s nothing to be done. Trust me there’s always something you can do to assist someone. And in this situation if the value were more, I’m sure people would be more inclined to help. In the end, this Mia person told me there was no manager until Tuesday(another BS story) due to the holiday. There’s always another manager working if one is off. She kept asking for my name and number when i gave it to Jason already so no one was paying attention and that’s why i feel like the customer service was lacking. She didn’t care, and she hung up on me as well. So two stars. I was hoping for more for this place because i wanted to host an event here given the location and they just lost out.
I stayed in this hotel 3rd time, good rooms, free breakfast but limited variety.. and coffee Location is the charm , walking distance to mall and casino.. convenient to use restaurants and shops in the mall. .. free shuttle..
