Stayed there 2 nights. The rooftop bar is worth noting, the views are spectacular for Amsterdam, given that predominantly there are low buildings. The hotel is in a great location. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Travel to central Amsterdam is quite easy, and the room was spotless and comfortable. Needed extra pillows for bed in our opinion.
Hotel is near a tram 13 stationon that gets you fairly quick in the center of Amsterdam. The show near reception has tickets for one day or multiple days. The rooms are a bit small. Very few have a fridge (in 13 rooms booked by our group only ours had one). Keep in mind that the fridge only works with a card inserted in the slot. Luckly they provide an extra one in the rooms where fridge is present. Decent view from top restaurant. Breakfast had plenty of options. Water from the shower was splashing in the bathroom where there is no drain. It was a bit chilly in the room but they provided an little heater.
We stayed here for 3 nights, Upon arrival we were put to the back of the queue as there isn't a real booking in system. we finally got to the front of the desk and the lady behind the counter picked up the phone. then proceeded to take another call. at this point we wanted to check in and get out to see the sights. we got to our room and it was lovely! The beds are comfortable and just enough for 2 people. The food was lovely although a little expensive for what it was and very little choice. and it takes an age for service. we were out all day Friday and came back to a lovely relaxing sleep. our room was serviced whilst we were out on Saturday which was great, we were then woken up by room cleaning on Sunday morning about 9.30am which wasn't ideal as we were hungover from being at the street parties of Pride. throughout our stay our key card never worked and kept having to go to reception! we then booked the airport shuttle for 6.40pm for the next day to be told on the day of our departure that the shuttle leaves at 6.20pm not 6.40pm, good job we check or we would have been late!! Overall the tramline is just behind the hotel which is a good thing and only 8 stops to Centraal, and has some lovely greenery surrounding the hotel. its just a shame the staff let it down slightly!
9 of us stayed in this awesome hotel about 30 minutes out from Amsterdam square. Tram stop was right outside the hotel door which was brilliant. The hotel it's self is deceiving from the outside. On the inside it's one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in, not to mention friendly. It has a roof top terrace bar located on the 17th floor which was excellent. Thus also staged film nights on a big screen if that's your bag. The rooms are spacious and were clean as you'd expect. The cost was low and made our stay even better
I picked this hotel thinking that as a big name chain, they'd have the basics figured out. We stayed for two nights and had no housekeeping during this time (despite leaving the door hanger out all day from 10am to 5:30pm), one staff member at the front desk was repeatedly unhelpful to the point of borderline rudeness, and the WiFi connection in the room was so weak that it was unusable. To finish off our stay, we were woken up on the morning of our departure (at around 9:20am) by housekeeping to ask what time we'd be leaving. Complaints were met with apologies, but no offers were made to compensate. Our "double" bed was two single beds pushed together that constantly moved apart. Despite the disappointments and failings of this hotel, the view from our room was good and the environment in the Floor17 bar is impressive. Staff incompetence lets down what could be a great hotel.
If you wish to waste your money and deal with incompetent members of staff who have no clue about customer service or general manners I suggest you book this hotel. When we first arrived at the hotel a man named Abdul told us to wait and we would be served there was no greetings at all. Another colleague did arrive but clearly had no idea how to use the computer system so we waited again while he went to find another member of staff to help him with no apologies. A friend was also checking in at the same time and was told British people are 'not well liked here' and because he was not of British nationality his room was upgraded and received free drinks at the bar. The room itself was lovely and clean however the fridge did not work and the pillows seemed to be the size of small cushions. The second day we left the hotel early and spent the day exploring. We arrived back at the hotel at 6pm and we found housekeeping had still not been in the room to clean. Ten minutes after being in the room the cleaner arrived so we decided to go to the rooftop bar. When we arrived back to the room the soap, toilet roll and towels were not replaced. I called down to reception to request these items and milk for some tea.... 30 minutes later these items had still not arrived with no apologies made at all everything seemed like a huge effort for the staff.Eventually someone turned up but just with the toilet rolls so once again there was a wait for the other items. When checking out of the hotel the lady behind the desk did not greet us and in the middle of checking out she went to help another person staying at the hotel! I had to ask her if check out was complete and if we could leave which she answered with an unpleasant response and tone. I would of stay at this hotel again the customer service was horrendous which ruined the trip.
Great little hotel for a work/holiday stay to Amsterdam. Is conveniently located between airport and city. Also wonderful to have the large park next door for walks/jogs. Municipal pool is also just up the road. Service staff were great, starting with the airport shuttle. Had lots of fun and laughs. Food in the restaurant and drinks in the bar also left nothing to be desired. Who can say no to the coldest beer in town!
This hotel was a great stay. We were welcomed on arrival at reception and asked if there was anything we needed to know and given all the local information we needed and directed to the soverigner shop for a tram pass. The tram is directly outside the hotel which takes you into the centre in just 12 minutes, I don't know where people are getting the 20 minutes ect from on these reviews, it really is not that far and I made an effort to check if this was correct. This service really made the difference between being able to get to the centre. One night we stayed out after 12:30 and was surprise that a taxi cost just about 20 euro so between 4 that wasn't bad at all. The hotel was clean, well maintained, tastefully decorated and the rooms were likewise. The staff were great, they were friendly and helpful when needed and at the right times and would give you enough space and privacy to enjoy your holiday. I particularly loved the rooftop bar, spectacular views over Amsterdam and so nice to relax and chill with a drink and music. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel to others. Thank you Ramada we had a great time and I can honestly say I most of the time can find one small complaint but not in this case it was all fantastic! We will hopefully see you in the future.
This hotel is fantastic...... a great location with a beautiful park in its surroundings and a rooftop bar with stunning views of Amsterdam Rooms were clean and in great condition with very comfy beds.... bar was quite expensive but where isn't in Amsterdam Tram stops outside hotel and is a 12 minute trip into dam square.... Amsterdam is a fantastic place....this hotel is the perfect base
If you book this place because you're trying to stay at a name brand and avoid the uncertainties that come with obscure boutique hotels, you may be quite disappointed. Upon check-in were sent to someone else's room, apparently housekeeping had not updated who had left and who hadn't. The room key was highly problematic throughout, the room phone is tricky to use, housekeeping is very very poor. There is a mention about green choice and not changing your sheets or towels, but there's no way to opt out. So if you prefer clean bedsheets, you won't get them. There was no change of linen for 3 nights. Bathroom amenities are not replenished so if you're staying 10 days you need to make do with the amenities you received the first day. Repeated calls to front desk for toiletries went unanswered. Laundry was undelivered after 2 days. Room incorrectly mentions complimentary tea service on the top floor when what they mean is there's tea bags in your room that you can use. Housekeeping does not vacuum or clean the bathroom - to test, placed the shower gel cap in the middle of the bathroom floor, found it right there upon return:( Overall, this place feels like a motel. Definitely not at par with other Ramadas. There's a beautiful rooftop restaurant though with great views of Amsterdam and breakfast buffet has a wide spread with waffles, breads, cereals, salads, yoghurts, hot foods and fruits. The location is also a plus point because it's away from the hustle and bustle of downtown but very conveniently next to the tram so downtown is just 10 minutes away. There's also a beautiful park right next door with walking trails. The best part about the hotel is the beautiful, furry, bushy tailed brown cat that was rubbing it's back on the grass when we checked in.
