We stayed for 2 nights after a river cruise from Budapest. We chose Ibis as close to Station and walking distance from where boat docks. The check in was not good as we had to wait for nearly 2 hours for a room and noticed others arriving after us getting checked in and room keys. The room was OK a bit small for the price. The location is good and probably OK for an overnight stay. We would not stay here again but book a smaller hotel in the Central Amsterdam or Dam Square area as I think the service would be better.
Amsterdam is lovely place to go and so are most of the people you get the odd one or two but yeah good. Thé ibis Amsterdam center is friendly but not everyone and you don’t get any toiletries like hand wash ect but all and all not bad and watch out the beds have bugs or something I was bitten all over.
Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and helpful, good location. We arrived off the ferry at about 11am much sooner than check in time, we went to ask if we could leave our bags but were told our room was ready and we could check in straight away. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel but is was exactly what we needed.
Positives: The hotel is very central, and you are within walking distance of pretty much everything. Checking in and out is fast and you won't have to wait forever. We came early and they had a room for us straight away. They also offered to change the room in case we didn't like the view or the street noise was too much (wasn't at all, except NYE, but thats not their fault). Bed was comfortable and good. Negatives: There is no space. You have a huge desk in the way so there is literally no room for two suitcases (double room). We would have to pack up everything just to go to the bathroom. They never actually cleaned the room, just fluffed the pillows and wiped the sink. Shower head was horrible, no water pressure and it pure out of all directions. Breakfast was expensive and had a bad selection compared to all the offers right outside the hotel.
I travelled to Amsterdam for a long weekend stay with my boyfriend and the hotel was in an ideal location, about a 5 minute walk to amsterdam square and was right right next to the train station. The hotel was ideal as compared to other hotels as the hotel offered a peaceful stay compared to other hotels we saw when there. The rooms were very clean and spacious and where cleaned everyday. The staff were also very lovely and pleasant.
Stayed for 1 night and that was enough! It was noisy in our room. Breakfast was a joke there was nothing left to eat when I asked if the food was going to be replenished I was grunted at! The location is the only good thing about this hotel. I wouldn’t stay again
My husband and my daughter's had my 50th all planned on the Thurs night I was handed a case and told to pack it as we were on the 10 o'clock flight the next morning and this is where we stayed and it was great they had banners and a 50th balloon in our room and the staff were great . The breakfast was continental but really nice and you couldn't get a better location in Amsterdam. The hotel was also very clean and well maintained No complaints here and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again
It was the worst experience ever!! We’d paid the city tax and breakfast on the first day we checked in, but later on the next morning when we were at the breakfast, the staff with bad attitude said we hadn’t paid for it . It ended out that the system didn’t mark our payment automatically even though the payment has already been done. Something even worse was that when we checked out, we were AGAIN asked to pay the city tax, saying we hadn’t paid it. It was like the payment made here was not even managed, and we were like being suspected of not paying for things that we actually did!!!!! Also, there was water leaking inside our room, and when we asked the reception about it, they told us that they could do nothing to fix it but give us two towels. Concerning the dirty bathroom door that wasn’t cleaned up before we checked in, they replied to clean it up the next day, but in fact, they didn’t. Aside from this, for our second night there, they did pack up the garbage for the first day but just located it next to our bed, but not throwing it away. Overall, cannot think of any good points except for its convenient location.
I visited Amsterdam with my boyfriend and we wanted a cheap hotel that was convenient and clean. This hotel was exactly that. Yes you probably could get one a lot cheaper but you will be in the middle of the madness and the not so nice areas of Amsterdam. Our hotel was literally right next to the train station. So we got off our plane at Schipol, went underneath the airport to the train station and then once we got off the train we looked left and there was our hotel! Perfect! It’s right in the centre of Amsterdam so you can walk everywhere and if you did want to travel out a bit further there are trams & busses as well as the train station obviously. It’s in a nice area away from the bars and the ‘dodgy parts’ of Amsterdam but it’s walking distance to everything. You literally just cross a bridge that’s right in front of your hotel and you can go anywhere within about 5-10 Mins that’s in the centre. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and our room was incredible! Yes it was just a bog standard ibis hotel room but we had a very comfortable bed, a big bathroom, a large mirror AND a floor to ceiling window view of the city of Amsterdam. It was beautiful and really made our stay there that little bit more special.
If you are looking for a Great location and little more then this is a good hotel as it's close to central station. However it has unbelievably small rooms and very patchy service from reception staff. It is also far to expensive for what it's worth!
