We had one staff that's outright rude and unhelpful. Maybe she can't understand the way Asians speak english or simply does not wish to help, we don't know. However, other staff we encountered are polite and cheerful.

Perfectly located at Central station, the ibis has everything you need for a city break. The rooms are small, basic but clean and comfortable. There is a bar in the lobby and a range of snacks you can buy if needed. We didn't have breakfast there as felt it was expensive. Train, metro, trams and canal boats are all just outside so easy to start exploring Amsterdam.

I and my husband have been in ibis Amsterdam Centre during our trip in Amsterdam. First, when we arrived the staff upgraded our room to 9th floor with sea view. Unfortunately, we could not stand the wind noise and vibration in our room due to the heavy rain that day so we asked to change the room. We got smaller room and less facilities. I don’t want to describe all these details to make us feel unhappy. The most important thing we’ve got during our stay here was the good service that we appreciated very much. Mr. Maicon was very helpful. And it’s because of his professionalism we give an excellent rate to this hotel.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend and can’t get over how friendly and helpful the staff were! The location is absolutely perfect, I’ve been to Amsterdam a couple of times and nothing beats this hotels location, just a few metres away from the centraal station. We didn’t book B+B but wish we did as it was open til 12pm every morning and the buffet looked great. There also is a mini shop (sweets, drinks, coffee, tea etc) in the hotel which is open 24/7, very handy!

Went here with my boyfriend in December 2017, we had a room that overlooked the canals and bike multistory. Fab location, it is located directly next door to Centraal Station and the tram station, overlooking the canals and within a 10 minute walk from EVERYTHING we wanted to do, other than the Amsterdam sign and the Heineken Experience, which we didnt end up getting to in the end as we were confused by the trams. Just FYI if you have never been to Amsterdam before.. You need to watch out for the bicycles, as you are likely to get ran into by them. When crossing roads you need to be mindful of bicycles, cars and trams.... and there are paths which you may think are for pedestrians but they're actually bicycle lanes and there is no footpath. The hotel was fairly cheap, we paid £300 for the hotel and flights for 4 nights. We are looking to go back again in the winter this year, and if we can.. will definitely be staying here again as it was the easiest location ever due to being next to the train station which takes you to Schipol Airport, and i have been told by friends that it also goes to the Beach during the summer. However, just to note.. the rooms are very basic, but they are perfect if you are more after the experience of amsterdam rather than being comfortable of an evening, however, having said that... the beds are very comfortable! The shower room is TINY.... But practical. Only downside i would say is that if you have an early morning flight and arrive at 9am (like we did) your room will not be ready until 3pm and you will have to either lug your luggage around with you, or ask for a key to the room which stores your luggage - which we thought was great.. but it is sometimes nice to get to a hotel have a snooze due to being up since 3am and then go back out at midday to explore - but obviously.. every hotel i have ever been to always make you wait until about 2-3pm so that you can check in.

Stayed on travel agents advise as had 38 hours till flight home after cruise and it was central to city Centre. Not much good to us when we had to pay 15 euros for lockers on first day and second day no lockers left large enough and they said they had no room for our suitcases!!! As we had paid 78 euros for tours we lost our money and had to come to airport and wait 10 hours for our flight!!!!! Room was ok, but no tea/coffee or kettle, no fridge and when we asked for ice gave us half a small plastic bag full, which we supplied! Ibis you may be budget but this is just not good enough. Amsterdam tourism is suffering because we didn’t see and pay for what we wanted to see!!!

Stayed here since I had a 12-hour layover in AMS. The train from the airport takes you straight into Amsterdam Centraal, which the hotel is a short walk away. Great for exploring the nearby areas, but if you're staying in Amsterdam, even the hotels across the way are better for a bit more money. The hotel is not for hanging out in, it's basically just for quick stays. It's not quiet, there are trains below you pulling in to the depot. The view of the river is more industrial than romantic. Don't expect anything extra and you'll be just fine.

This is a great place to stay. Location is fab. Right next to central station and an easy walk to Dam square. Rooms were comfortable and staff helpful. I had a lovely view over the city from my room. Breakfast was good with lots of choice!

The hotel is perfectly located near the train station only few hundred yards, it is also within walking distance from Amsterdam center activities, the hotel is so large they have 300+ room however the reception is very small for the number of rooms

Probably the best located hotel, dam square and red light district is right down the road (3-4min walk). It’s right beside the train station and the free ferry port to get over to the other side to the likes of the Amsterdam lookout(2min boat journey). Even with it being next door to the train station the noise of the trains is not a problem, you can hardly hear them. Tram stops are just around the corner to take you to any other place you want to go. Rooms are standard with air-con and the beds are very comfortable. We didn’t eat in the hotel as you can get excellent variety’s of breakfast and dinner down the road. Perfect spot for that city break where you don’t have to bus or tram to see the main attractions.
