We had reservations at this hotel, when we arrived we had problems with our VISA card. It turns out the VISA cards from this particular bank had a glitch and it was a world wide problem. While trying to get a hold of our bank and making alternative arrangements for payment of our 3 night hotel stay the staff were very patient and accommodating. The room was clean great location next to the train station and everyone greeted us with a smile. Thanks IBIS!
The Best part about this hotel is its location. It is right next to Amsterdam Central Station and is hardly 3-4 minutes walkl. Perfect location and is very convenient for travelers who would want to take outstation trains to other locations. Infact the back side of the Hotel faces the tracks and you can see the trains. It is also easily accessible from the airport. Just take a metro from Schipol Airport to Central (just takes 15 - 20 minutes). One drawback is the size of the rooms. Rooms are very small and not that comfortable. The bathroom was small too and not that convenient. Rooms are neat and clean and with reference to front desk staff its overall ok, some are helpful while others don't seem bothered. if you are looking for a decent hotel for a layover/ a short stay not expecting too much comfort this will work. Regards Ash
The hotel is conveniently located near the central station and you can easily take a tram or bus, or perhaps rent a bike to go around the city. The staff are attentive and friendly though they can seem to be overwhelmed when there's a surge of guests at the lobby. I thought the hotel and my room were well maintained. The buffet breakfast was very good especially for people on the go. Definitely staying at this hotel again in future trips.
Location is perfect for someone staying for only a short time. Right next to station. We arrived early and they let us check in as our room was ready. Room is small, but clean and comfortable. Reasonably priced. We had a canal side view. Watch out for bikes!
Good clean and comfortable hotel. The best thing is it's location. Perfect for the tourist as its practically above the Centraal Station and very close to the City Centre. All bus and canal tours start in its vicinity and public transport is a minute away. Excellent value.
Great location right next to the Centraal rail station in the city center - but they seem to have problems with the heating ventilating and air-conditioning system. On my visit, (early April) the heating couldn't keep the room above 20C - and from other reviews here, they have other problems with it, as well. They have a building over the tracks of the Centraal station - ask for a room on the west side of the main building, unless you like trains (I do, I asked for this building...)
This hotel is in a good location but unfortunatelly it is a very bad place to rest. First the price, it is very expensive, breakfast is not included and you don't even have a kettler or some coffee in the room. The hotel reception is appalling, it's just a room with some food and coffee machines (you have to pay to use them of course) and the staff just walks around and deals with your requests using some standing monitors all around the room. Also, you have to go through a big and ugly bicycles park to enter. The rooms are ridiculously small. I didn't even have enough space to properly use the toilette (I had to stand on the side and target carefully). Regarding cleaniness it was not great by any means. Now the worst part. We were woke up twice in the morning. First they decided to test the fire alarm, without any previous warning, and when I went down to ask what happened some member of the staff, that barely spoke English, explained, in a very rude manner, what happened and didn't even bother with an apology. I went to bed again because I was really tired and then the cleaning lady decided to enter in the room and wake us up again well before the checkout time. The only good thing about the hotel is the location because it is really near Amsterdam Central but be warned, half of the rooms have a very bad view to the other side of the city.
The location is great but rooms very basic and quite small. The pictures online make the hotel look better than in real life. The bed was awful. I am now suffering with serious back pain which has been ongoing for 3 nights now. The heating was confusing and didn’t do what you thought you pressed. Check in was smooth and the staff friendly. I like the idea of having cold food (sandwiches etc) available to buy 24 hours a day if your feeling lazy but the city has lots of places for food that are open all the time! It wasn’t a bad experience, but not sure I would stay again.
The room was very hot, the windows are sealed closed so no outside ventilation. The AC was turned off because of the winter weather. Could not cool the room down. It was miserable. It is quite common in many hotels to seal the windows to keep people from either jumping out or throwing items on the street below, but there should have been some way by making an exception to the rule or turning on the cooling system. I complained to the staff and all I received was excuses and blank stares. It was pretty miserable. Having stated that, the location is very good.
The hotel was clean, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room although small was perfectly functional for a short stay. A couple of minor issues encountered during our stay were rapidly resolved by an excellent management team.
