The Max Brown hotel is surprise for us ,because we find it from special prices .small boutique hotel. The location was perfect it's near museum area in Amsterdam very near to Vondelpark The room it's not so big but very clean .Decoration is fantastic with different photos on the wall.Very friendly staff .Breakfast is nice .We rent a bike from the hotel a little more expensive from the center but o.k. good value for money .we recommend it and definitely come back

Stayed here in August 2016 with my boyfriend. Great location- rijksmuseum was literally outside, also a tram stop. Delicious buffet breakfast. Got upgraded to a deluxe room which was great. Super comfortable bed. Fabulous room decor - planes basket ball hoop with actual stuffed basketball. Friendly staff.

I enjoyed my stay at Max Brown Hotel Museum Square. The room was very small and cozy but we knew that before we booked it. Although the room was small it was set up in a very functional way. The only downsides to this hotel were the fact that we could hear the other rooms listening to the tv through the walls. It wasn't extremely loud but definitely noticeable. Also, the stairs are very steep so if you have a difficult time going up and down stairs then that may be a hindrance to you. However, we absolutely loved the hotel as the bed was very comfortable, everything we needed was provided, and the breakfast was delicious. It is also in a great area that is quiet at night but it is right beside of a tram stop so it is easy to get to any other part of the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

It looked like it was all going wrong when we were told we were double booked but the hotel were excellent. They upgraded us to their sister hotel Sir Albert for one night with taxis paid for there and back. One happy accident was that we discovered Restaurant De Waaghals, Franshasstraa 29. Probably one of the best vegetarian restaurants we have visited. Our remaining two nights back at Max Brown were great. Good location and very helpful and nice staff. We had great fun playing Jenga and Scrabble in the bar. The beers are good too!

Great location! Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Good value for money too. Decor was quirky and fun. Breakfast selection was OK, but great 24-hr bar. Definitely worth a stay!

We chose this place because it is so conveniently situated for all we wanted to see or do whilst in Amsterdam: 10 minutes or less walk from all our destinations - The Rijksmuseum, The Van Goch museum, Canal boat trip, The Concert Gebouw, a choice of 3 fine restaurants just around the corner and 5 minutes to the bus for Schiphol airport, The added bonus was that the staff were very friendly and helpful and the little hotel was very different and absolutely charming.

7 friends stayed for 2 nights in this quirky hotel in the museum quarter. It was conveniently placed near Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum also public transport. The staff were extremely helpful, booking museum and tram tickets for us. They were always on hand to give recommendations of places to visit and local restaurants. The reception come bar was cozy with aromatherapy candles burning. There was fresh fruit and water available on the bar. The rooms were clean and there were fresh towels every day. The continental breakfast was enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again.

Hi, we got home Friday from a 4 night in the Max Brown hotel museum sq which is in the perfect location for Amsterdam, easy to get to by bus from the airport, easy to get anywhere, we walked most places, restaurants were good plenty of them, the hotel was very nice the staff were pleasant, the breakfast was fine if I had to say anything bad it was the size of the room, but I would go back no problem. Thank you Max Brown.

I visited the Max Brown Hotel in Amsterdam for my teenage son's birthday last week. This was a real surprise as he has the same name so he thought it was very cool. Prior to booking, I emailed the reservations coordinator in advance to see if they could make this trip even more special as this was a birthday treat, in which she advised that this would be no problem. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a warm welcome by the reception staff. I was informed of where the breakfast area is, and the opening times and the bar opening times. I was advised of my room number and location of the room and the free wifi code. I was also given check out times and a free guide map of the surrounding areas. The hotel had a warm aroma of aromatherapy candles, and I felt at home straight away. Our room had been decorated with balloons and a birthday banner, and there were some refreshments with a note to wish my son a happy birthday. The room was quiet, warm and the lighting was good. There was European tv channels and English with free view. The internet speed was very good. The twin beds were small but comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was very powerful. In the bathroom there was a range of wonderful smelling shower gel, hair shampoo and body balm. The room was designed very well for a teenager with a basket ball hoop and soft velvet ball. The contininental breakfast was enjoyable and consisted of breads, hams, cheeses, yoghurts, cakes and cereals. All in all I can honestly say that our stay was an amazing experience and we cannot wait to book another trip. This hotel is very highly recommended.

It is always difficult to choose somewhere to stay when you go abroad. You surf the net, look at the pictures, and then kind of hold your breath, press book, and hope for the best. And that is the way that we booked this hotel. But oh how lucky we got. The hotel is perfectly placed in the museum district, and is an easy walk to most places, especially the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijks Museum. Both of which I would recommend too, but back to the hotel. The rooms are really clean and tidy and very well appointed. Tv, comfy bed, kettle with lots of tea, but surprisingly no coffee. The bathroom was compact, but perfectly good, and I loved the rain shower head. I need to get one of those for home. The rooms and the hotel have free WiFi. The reception doubles as a coffee shop and bar that also sells sweets for the kids in bags. A sort of pick and mix arrangement. And they have board games that you can play as you drink your very nice cocktail. Breakfast was lovely. A continental breakfast with tea and coffee, breads and toast, cold meat, cereals, yoghurt, eggs. Basically, everything you could want, and plenty of it. Do I have any criticisms? Well, not really. A few suggestions would be a little bit of a better description. The door to the bathroom didn’t shut, and could do with a catch. And the shower screen was broken, but still useable. And they could do with sachets of coffee in the room, but as I never asked they may be available. All in all, it is a lovely boutique hotel based within walking distance of most things in Amsterdam. And is a lovely place to come back to at the end of a long days sightseeing. Just don’t park outside it!
