We had a wonderful time a the Max Brown Hotel. Our room was very tiny but even more cosy. Everything was clean and tidy. The style of the hotel has addressed us. Casual and cool. Even the staff was so. Cool and friendly. The location is perfect for the visitors who want to visit the important museums of Amsterdam. We would always visit the hotel again.

A lovely hotel with a great breakfast and excellent cappuccino! The people at check in were very friendly and helpful. The room was very small and the beds narrow but still comfortable. It is an old European hotel - that is a lot of its charm. An inviting lobby and bar area with great books available. I would stay here again!

Really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, 2 mins walk from tram/bus stop ,10 mins walk to city centre. Great variety to choose from at breakfast. Lovely to chill in bar after a night out....very relaxing. Rooms comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Close to Rijksmuseum, Nice lobby bar, good restaurant, close to Lucas Bols House. Fine standard if compare to other hotels in Amsterdam. Whole hotel design in 80s. If you like cosy, clear and specific places -visit it

Love this hotel, really quirky, clean, comfy bed, breakfast was included , good internet everything in the room That you need, decent shower. Had a great nights sleep, 2 minute walk from the tram and near some of the museums. Yes there is windy stairs but you are in Amsterdam after all. Will definitely return for longer next time 👍

I was pending for giving the hotel 3 or 4 points. the hotel is in a very good location, in the center, very close to luxury shopping street and other tourist attractions. The main issue is the very small rooms but having in mind that in such a old building you can not have bigger rooms, let's say that is not hotel fault. it was quite cold in the rooms.

This hotel has a fantastic location for a trip to Amsterdam - furthermore you will find lot of small details which makes you feel very welcome. Hotel is located in an old Building with a lot of stairs and small rooms, however they have really understand how to turn negative to positive. Thank you very much for a very pleasant stay.

Lovely hotel very quirky. Clean very friendly staff, food excellent, highly recommend, great position for getting around and near to plenty of shops and restaurants. After the first day was really easy to get around the metro system is excellent easy to follow, highly recommend Berlin for a great getaway. Plenty of restaurants and shops.

This is a nice building and the staff are helpful but the access for disabled people doesn't seem to exist (happy to be corrected), considering the steep stairs into reception and the steep inside staircases. The room I was in is at the top of the stairs and within earshot of the reception and bar, where, of course, customers get drunk and rowdy. It seems someone was rolling something around (barrels again, maybe? See my other review!) in the middle of the avoid the first floor if you can. Those who have read my other reviews know that I like relative peace and quiet, and when my company has paid a *lot* for such a room and expects me to be awake for meetings, it's not too much to ask for, is it? Breakfast was quite good but nothing special. The staff were helpful and pointed out that the kettle marked 'Water' was actually cold water, not hot, once I'd poured some on my teabag. I blame my technical inabilities on lack of sleep...

We have stayed in this hotel in October 2015 and September 2017 and it was great both times. In our second stay we got a room in floor -1, but the room had a big window overlooking the inside yard. the room was very clean and towels were changed each day. the breakfast included is the same each day but the ingredients are fresh and tasty. the staff is very nice and helpful! only fault- wall facing the hall are thin and one night a bunch of guests made a lot of noise in the hall and it was annoying. other than that, no noise or problems.
