Very happy that I selected this hotel. It had a great location for us as we had tickets to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, Staff are very friendly and helpful, providing suggestions. Reception area has a small bar which was very nice, happy hour 5-7 and a little candy shop. Bed was very comfortable. Yes the rooms are small but they've done everything to maximize use of space, It has a fun design with the pictures and basketball hoop on the wall. We didn't hear any noise from or neighbors. We arrived via train, jumped on tram I think it was #5 that stopped at the end of the street where Max Brown Museum is located. It was a short walk to restaurants, shops, bars etc. The next street over has high end shopping, Chanel etc. Breakfast met our needs, yes the steps are steep, but just go slowly. We would definitely return!

We were there 3 persons in 1 room for 2 nights, room was very very small !!! width was exactly 1.9m and in this width they put two beds and third behind one of them ... very small toilet and bath too ... regretted a lot paying 300EURO per night (100 per person per night) in this "jail" room ... without telling names - the second 2 nights we spent in other hotel - near the dam square - bigger room and newer furniture for only 130EURO per two nights per person ...

Max Brown is quirky and we love it! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great choice at breakfast. The hotel is slap bang in the museum district and near to the Vondelpark. We stayed in the Max Brown in the canal ring previously and overall preferred the hotel to this one. Both in excellent locations. We would definitely choose Max Brown again.

You could not pick a better area to stay. So many attractions near by. If you plan to be there in warm weather ask for a room in the back. It can get be a little noisy on the street with the window open. The breakfast which is included is fabulous! The staff is wonderful! Highly recommend. Be prepared for a small room.

Spent multiple nights at Max Brown Museum-- had a loft room which was large and great for two adults with teenagers. We thought that the location was excellent. Staff was excellent and always helpful. Breakfasts were very good. We would go back to this hotel without question.

We stayed at The Max Brown Museum Square during our first night of a two week whirlwind vacation in Europe. The room was small but charming, the service was impeccable and the bikes...don't even get me started. When you go, you must rent a bike. My only complaint is that the service staff entered the room while we were napping and the bedding smelled slightly musty. The whole hotel is charming, breakfast is great, and they can accommodate your luggage if you have odd arrival/departure times. A really cute hotel in a perfect location - walkable to most everything, right next the the museums and great for a quieter Amsterdam experience.

Visited Amsterdam with my boyfriend and so loved the city. Max Brown Hotel was the icing on the cake! Staff were the friendliest I've met in any hotel I've been to. We were in a room downstairs and the stairs were quite narrow as they are in a lot of buildings in Amsterdam. Staff were more than happy to help us carry our bags down to our room. Room was very small but spotlessly clean, quirky and modern with a very comfy bed. We couldn't have wanted for anything else and the size of the room wasn't an issue as there were only two of us. Location isn't perfect but there is lots to do around and only a very short tram journey into the very city centre and there is a tram stop right beside the hotel. We used Uber at night time to get back to our hotel and it was very inexpensive. Breakfast was fine, we only availed of this once during our 3 night stay. Would recommend renting bikes from the hotel and cycling around Vondelpaark. Have already and will continue to recommend this hotel to friends.

We had a lovely week in Amsterdam at Max Brown's Museum Square, the staff were fantastic, helpful and catered for all of our requests. All staff had a friendly smile and a cheery hello at any time of the day. Our bedroom was spotless. The bar area and afternoon cocktails were great and the breakfast although busy at certain times was good. I liked the vibe of the whole place and was aware that the rooms were small but they need air conditioning or windows that open, we went at the end of May when it was nice but not massively hot and the room was unbearable hot, even with the fans running. Our only negative comment would be that for the elderly or disabled traveller the stairs are very steep and narrow. Watch out for the cyclists their more of a danger than cars. The trams are brilliant go everywhere by Tram!!

I stayed here on a hen do with 12 other girls and it was perfect. It was a short Uber away from most things but close to the park and restaurants. The hotel is done up very nicely although we were on level four and the lift was always busy but i guess helped burn some calories! Breakfast was nice but busy so make sure you get up early!

Visited with two friends (all aged 33). Great hotel in a good location - quiet, close to tram and bus stops. Hop on the express bus to get you to and from the airport for 5 euros in about 40 mins. Close to vondelpark which is a must for cycling round. There are some lovely cafes in it to stop at. Definitely too big to get round on foot. Would recommend A bikes vondelpark for bike hire. Hotel happy hour is 5-7pm all cocktails €6. They are amazing! Comfy beds, compact bathroom. Nice breakfast too. Staff friendly and good with advice on how to get around. Only negative is steep steps outside and inside the hotel but there is a lift which we used most days. About 30min walk from Dam square. Much less than that to get to the shops and bars. Would book again.
