Lovely lovely staff and food/drinks. Room basic but clean, no sound proofing, woken by noisy people upstairs at 1am, heard shower, someone falling then snoring. Not worth €200 at all. Area looked like student accommodation/ hospital.

not at all a 4 or 5 star hotel- Was very disappointed in the place, thought it had AC, no coffee makers in room.Service in the restaurant was basically non -existent. They don't acknowledge you when you enter or bring you a menu.I could not get hot water in the shower on my night of arrival. When I reported it the next day, the desk clerk told me not taking a shower after traveling all day was not necessary.

Beautifully situated between a park and a canal, the hotel is still within walking distance from the central train station. The restaurant and bar were both great, and the staff was helpful and friendly. My single room was small but well equipped, and the bathroom was modern. I am hoping for a chance to stay there again.

Quick stopover

20 min walk from station and in a quiet area. Room more basic than I expected and needed to have window open due to heat and found a bit noisy. This probable due to people tragic from nearby festival. Tea/ coffee on landing well stocked and meal I had in restaurant was good. Clean and staff friendly/helpful.

This hotel was lovely , first thoughts when arriving , outer area isn't what one would expect. Atmosphere is older Amsterdam feel. The receptionist was so very kind and helpful with arriving early , she arranged a sooner checkin . The room is good size and beds so comfy ! Added touch on our floor was a nice little kitchenet where we could make our own coffee , kettle supplied and filled water decanters . A laundry tub to wash items if needed . There is a restaurant within as well as an outdoor patio . Great location !!

Pension Homeland is a fabulous hotel with lots of local and artistic charm. There's so many cute details like the model ships on top of the elevator, the unique wall paintings, the animal display in the host stand, the twinkling lights on the building that look like the Eiffel Tower, and of course, the feline hostess Queen. I just really enjoyed the vibe of the place overall. I felt like I was on a summer euro trip in the 60's there. The Restaurant was also really good. I would highly recommend getting breakfast there or even just a drink and a snack. They play great music and the servers are all really cool. I didn't get a chance to try the brewery but I did get to swim off the dock during the heat wave. Also a new experience for me! Btw, there wasn't AC in the building as with most of Europe so be weary of the hotter days as the rooms get very stuffy. I happen to go the week they were having temps over 30 degrees celsius. Overall, I had a very nice week at Pension Homeland. I would gladly stay there again during a future trip to the city. Everyone was so nice and I really enjoyed all the locals. Good vibes all around.

We opted to stay here because of the proximity to the cruise ship dock. We thought we'd be able to walk to the ship, however, the cobblestone streets made that challenging with our luggage, so we opted to take a taxi. The hotel was quite a distance from the museums in the heart of Amsterdam that we wanted to visit, making for expensive cab rides. In hindsight, I'm not sure this was the best choice for our needs.
