One of the biggest impressions for me about traveling is the people. In reviewing hotels that is a big part of it. It's the people that make you feel welcome or not. I was on a three week trip throughout Europe and this was only the second hotel where I felt as if the staff doesn't understand the true concept of hospitality. While they did their job, there just wasn't a feeling of being welcomed to the hotel. Side note: They even made me feel odd when I kept my mask on in the hotel and commented I didn't have to wear it. Amsterdam didn't have an indoor mask mandate until 11/6/21 except for public transportation. The hotel aims to be this hip hotel full of art and perhaps works for some but not me. I paid for three nights and checked out after even though I extended my stay in Amsterdam by another three nights because I felt so unwelcome I went to another hotel. I mentioned to the receptionist on my first morning with them I paid for the iconic view but all I am looking at is the massive construction project (I have photos) in front of the central station. Zero apology, zero offer to move me. Her response, Amsterdam Central IS an iconic view. Radisson Hotel, you can do better! Stop charging people for the view until the construction is over! Absurd. Positives: Excellent bed linens and towels, comfortable bed, huge rooms, coffee/tea makers, big nightstands (hard to find in hip new hotels), can't be more convenient to train station.

We felt so welcomed the minute we walked in. The staff and service were excellent. Very attentive and thoughtful. 15 minutes after we checked in, they delivered a personalized Thank You note with a beautiful bouquet of tulips for staying 8 nights with them. Almost a week later, they replaced the flowers with new ones. How thoughtful is that? They also accommodated us with a last minute booking for their New Year’s Eve dinner celebration. We were seated at a lovely table as well. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The room itself is very modern, stylish, clean and cozy at the same time. The hotel has a lot of fun, quirky collection of art. The location is convenient - close to everything. Good breakfast every morning. Great location with efficient amenities which made my stay smooth. There were some small mistakes at the restaurant, but the services were forgiving.
