NH Amsterdam Centre4.0 out of 5.0

great location in the museum district near restaurants and across the street from a main canal nice amenities, but no american electrical outlets to recharge cell phones, etc.
the hotel is fabulous and clean, definetly will go again and recomended to my friends and family, love the food and people there
I booked this hotel because it was located near many of the major touristy parts of town like Leidseplein and Museumplein. It also is far enough away so late night partying noise doesn't get through to my room. The bar and food prices were a bit expensive, but the bartenders were very friendly and helped me select some good beers which I'm now buying on the regular back in the States. The only con I have is that breakfast was a bit pricy, but it didn't detract from my overall experience there (not to mention my rate more than made up for the price). Will book here again if I head to Amsterdam soon.
NH was lovely, easy to find the bus from the airport went right past the front door. The room was large, clean and attractive, the bathroom was definitely the best lighting and the tub was deep enough for me to have a proper bath (no small thing since I am over six feet). Staff was amazingly supportive, and quite helpful on the last day when a violent storm disrupted transport across the city.
Toilet was crammed between the sink and bathtub. not a lot of room, otherwise, a grat hotel stay!!!
Great bang for the buck. Near everything on tram 1,2,&5 to Central Station. Walking distance to Museums.
Just stay two nights and was great, as ussual. Great location and nightlife!
Excellent location, neer train stop and Mini Brand Store.
GREAT LOCATION IN AMSTERDAM BUT ITS A BUSINESS JUST WHAT YOU NEED FOR COUPLE OF DAYS, BREAKFAST IS NOT WORTH IT
The staff was very helpful and the location was great. Easy to get on public transportation and close to museum.
Spent 5 days in this hotel during my birthday, great location, close to night life area but far enough not to be disturbed by noise.
This hotel was everything a person looking for a normal level of comfort and convenience could want. The room was absolutely clean and in perfect condition, a comfortable size with two small chairs to be able to sit and work or read, and the bathroom was large and updated. The location, two steps away from the Leidseplein stop, is good for several trams, buses, and the direct bus to the airport (197, which is not included in the GBV transport day passes). The museum area behind the hotel is quiet and residential, with a number of decent, if slightly overpriced restaurants, but there is a Lidl supermarket just two blocks away. The area across the canal has a large plaza with several big cafés with bad and overpriced food for people watching, and is leads to a sort of fast-food alley, but it is easy to reach any other area of the city in just a few minutes. I found this a wonderful hotel. BTW, I am not a user of special luxury concierge services or other amenities, so I can't comment on them. The only negative is their check-in time of 3 PM, which seems ridiculous, considering that flights from the States get in in the morning, however they did accommodate us, and we were able to get it early, after waiting, exhausted, for about an hour.
Beautiful hotel. Rooms are super modern and large! Even has sliding doors out to a 1-2ft wide small balcony. Staff held our bags from our cruise until our room was ready. Great location just across the small bridge into Leidseplein square, The Bulldog Café, and a ton of restaurants and coffeeshops. Looking forward to staying at this hotel again soon.
I have stayed in this hotel about 6 times in the last 4 years primarily because the location is great. I do have a couple of points about which I have complained before by e-mail. The TV used are about 50 years old and so out of focus it is hard to see. Some new flat screen TVs would be great. Also an international hotel like this could do with more TV channels with an international channel like CNN. The beds are getting a little old. The internet, finally for free in the room, is abysmally slow unless you spend 10 euros for a faster service. Don't get me wrong....I will stay here again next year. These improvements will just make the stay more pleasant. By the way my name is Ron de Vogel and not Ron deVo as listted on the survey.
The best thing about this hotel is that it is in the center of the city. Upon check-in we were told our room was not ready, but that for a price we could upgrade to a bigger room with a better view. We did because we were tired after a long flight. The room was rather small and it did not have a great view. The bed was below average, as was the value. Our friends stayed farther away at a Holiday express and breakfast was included in the room price. The best thing besides the location was that there was free wifi in the lobby. I would not return to this hotel. While there, we took a canal ride and hoped to get to the museums which were close to the hotel, but ran out of time.
With use of the tram that stops in front of the hotel, most points of interest are easily accessible. Rooms in the front of the hotel may be noisy due to traffic noise. We had a room in the middle and it was very quiet. Nice room. The staff at the front desk were very accommodating and friendly.
Great location of where you want to be in Amsterdam
Very well located, close to shopping areas and restaurants, not to mention tram and canal boats stations
My experience was good. I arrived at 9.45 anticipating waiting for my room for several hours. Much to my amazement they had a room ready which after a 6 hour time change was really appreciated. Great room and great location
The location is perfect, the hotel its clean and comfortable
