Single room was around < a third of my friend's while 12 minute walk to his hotel, so I booked as only needed to stay a single night to catch same flight as my friend. Hotel was clean, staff were informative. Room was a bit non-descript, about right for the price. No lobby to speak of, again expected at this price

Easy to drive to and parking was great. Staff was so helpful and room was modern and comfortable. Step out the door and you are in a plaza close to canals shops and so many restaurants! We would stay here again for sure.

A/c not working, windows not able to open. Extremely hot, non ventilated tiny room.

Very good. Room was clean with high ceiling. Very central and close to trams. Great service at the front desk.

We took the megabus from Brussels that dropped us at a station outside of the downtown area, but we took a tram that within 15min left us less than 30 steps from the hotel. The hotel has different tram stations really close to it, not to mention shops, restaurants and bars (there's a Mexican place just across the street :) ). The hotel is quiet and safe, modern and the rooms are well equipped, the room has a safe, tv, a mini-fridge, a spacious shower and the hotel provides slippers and robes #super. The hotel is really close to all main attractions (10 to 20 min walk), from the museum district, to the Anne Frank house, Dam square and the Heineken experience, we really walked everywhere and we only used the tram to get there and out. I liked that I was close to everywhere but I was able to go back to the hotel without having drunk / partying people around the place where I was sleeping / intending to have a break from the downtown living. The staff was nice, helpful, knowledgeable of tourist information, and they allowed us for an early check in. ALL of this for a really competitive price. I would absolutely go back to this hotel.

We liked everything about this hotel! A highlight of our stay in and of itself.

Located slightly away from the main tourist attractions in the center, but all within a 15 min walking distance. Rooms are nice and lobby staff are courteous, though nothing to rave to about.

We arrived about an hour early and it was no problem. The place is beautiful and the staff was friendly and available 24 hours. The location is perfect for walking around to explore. There are multiple shops and eateries very close. The suite wasn't huge like suites in the US BUT! The balcony/ patio space makes up for that. It is a paneramic view of the city and the outdoor space is larger than the room.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were modern and large. It is only a 10 minute walk to the Van Gogh museum where several others are also located. Within a block in either direction you can catch a tram to Dam Square and be there in 10 minutes. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby also. The WIFI worked fine but you could only have one device signed up on the account. The TV did not work when we got there but the staff got it fixed that day( not that it was a big problem since we were there to see the town anyway!). The Hotel it self had a breakfast area but no restaurant or bar. Again, not a big issue since there was stuff nearby.

+ the hotel is new, very fresh, clean and tidy: + the room and the bathroom are very clean + the room is large, it has lot of space, giant windows make room more bright + electric kettle and the fridge are in the room + everything, what you need in bathroom, it has + great breakfast with different dishes every day + the hotel is not so far from the center of the city, but near bus/tram stop are ~10-15 minutes by walk + the staff is very helpful and kind. - nothing.

We only stayed here one night. The room was fine we were put on the first floor, so the view wasn't great. We were a little stressed with checkout. There was one person at the front desk to handle check-out, rentals, and taxi pick-ups.

This hotel is a great value. It's not in the downtown, but close enough to trams & buses & you can walk to the museums & other areas. The staff was helpful & very nice. Our room & bathroom were good sized & very clean. They put 2 twins next to each other for a double bed, but I think that's common in Europe. We had their breakfast one day, but didn't really care for the choices. It also was more European, but there was nothing wrong with it. There are plenty of small cafes close by, so you won't go hungry. We would definitely recommend this hotel

A not so grand hotel. Smallest room I have ever stayed in.

we really liked the staff and location great restaurant right outside with the best breakfast

a bit far away from center but other than that everything was superb

Silent and ok location with walking distance from city centre. All normal rooms are on first floor but it is still silent. Windows can not be opened but there are aircondition. Ok temperature in sleepingroom, and perfect warm in bathroom with heat in floor. Refrigerator and kettle with tea/coffe in room. If I would say anything bad about the hotel it must be that it was not clean under the bed, refrigerator could be cooler and the aircondition in sleepingroom need a better controller/thermostat. It is just small things so I was happy with my stay overall. I stayed for 6 nights.

Very much as advertized. Couldn't have asked for more. Easy walk to RR station.

Hotel is 20 minute walk to Rijksmuseum and Van Googh Museum. Tram to city center is two blocks away or 25 minute walk. Anne Frank's House is around a 20 minute walk. Safe area with an Albert Heijn grocery store right next to the tram (#1) stop. The majority of the regular rooms were on the first floor which ended up being fine. The room was spacious and contained two separate twin beds. The bathroom was current, clean, and had a heated floor. The staff at the front desk good not have been nicer. I took the breakfast for 12.5 euros a day and it included eggs cooked to order, various cheeses, smoked salmon, bread, rolls, fruit, yogurt, potatoes, sausages, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Juice, coffee, tea, or milk were the beverages. Evanline who took care of the breakfast was personable and took interest in our day. I felt the price I paid was fair for the room and would recommend the Grand Hotel Downtown if I wanted to be near to the museum area.

We sprang for the penthouse and it was nice. The only complaint is that the hardwood floors seemed a bit dusty as if they had not been vacuumed very well. The room was very modern, good television and fast internet (25mb/second). The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. It is about a 20 - 30 minute walk to Central Amsterdam.

Great hotel in the expensive Amsterdam. rooms are small but i guess that is expected ...very clean, good service, excellent breakfast....
