As we expected the room was a little dated but comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the king size bed after a long day of walking and the hot shower was nice. Definitely needs a small fan in the bathroom but there are small windows for ventilation if needed. Room had a few chairs, coffee maker, multiple pillows, soft towels, mini fridge, and a personal safe. Yavapai Lodge met all of our needs. Definitely like the West buildings. Parking in front of your room is convenient vs the hotel building on the East side but the dated motel in the trees just gives you a summer camp feel. We loved it. Location was perfect. A few mile walk to the rim trail.. few steps away from the market or the dining hall. We had breakfast twice, the bagel sandwich and sausage burrito, which was pretty good. Saw lots of elk around. Tons of walking trails around the lodge too! We would love to stay again :)

Due to a delay - beyond our control - we called the property they said it was fine. (With a fully paid 3 night stay on 2 rooms) those rooms should've been waiting for us on night 2. They weren't. They accomodated us in a different room type. No adjustment, charged for the first night. Told the rooms were recently renovated, they weren't. We were out the entire second day they called and said they needed to move my room. When i returned housekeeping had left my door open. The front desk apologized but that was it. The hotel manager stated that if a "3rd party reservation (as in through Expedia) no shows (calling in is not just not showing up) they are supposed to just cancel it, no refund on any of it". So he acted like they did us a favor. Plus the food in their dining hall was not good.
