If you are looking for a place to get away from it all with family or friends, then this cabin rental is perfect for you! It is nestled on the bank of a 110-acre watershed lake (Banker's Lake) in western Kentucky. The rental is also pet friendly and only requires one small additional fee.
Fishing, canoeing and kayaking are all just steps away from the porch of this rustic getaway. If you enjoy golf, hiking, or just the outdoors in general, you could not ask for a better place. Relax and read a book while enjoying beautiful views of Banker's Lake or just pull up a rocking chair on the front porch and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature as your daily stresses melt away.
This rental is conveniently located just 10 minutes away from Pennyrile State Park and only an hour drive from Land Between the Lakes (Kentucky and Barkley Lakes). It is less than 10 miles from Burdoc Farm (wedding venue), so it is a great place for out of town wedding guests.
The cabin comes furnished with appliances, dishware, gas grill, satellite television (living room only), towels, and all necessary linens. It is equipped with a whole house on-demand hot water heater so no worries about running out if hot water. There is also a fire pit in the yard (firewood provided) should you want to enjoy roasting hot dogs and marshmallows with friends and family.
NOTE FOR PET OWNERS - If you plan to bring more than two pets, please contact owner for a discussion about additional charges for those extra pets.
We (property owners) currently live in the separated walk-out basement apartment of this home. We are a recently retired couple and try to be helpful, especially when making sure guests enjoy a wonderful experience. We are willing assist guests with life jackets for kayaks, getting them set up for a fishing, etc, but we are also very mindful that guests are there to get away, so we keep to ourselves and only interact when requested.
Cabin Layout: 1st Floor - Open floor plan with living Room, kitchen, table for 8 that all run together. Then there is a dining room (6 seat table), master bedroom with queen bed and twin bed, in suite full bath, 1/2 bath located in foyer, laundry room with washer/dryer. 2nd bedroom with full size bed and full bath. 2nd Floor - Bedroom 1 with queen size bed and twin bed. Bedroom 2 with full bed, built in full size bunk bed on top and twin bed on bottom, & hidden twin bed in kneewall nook (cool little spot for kids). Loft area bunk bed with full size bed on bottom & twin size bed on top and a twin daybed. Full bathroom.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 3.5 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 5 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find free WiFi and a TV with a DVD player. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

This was the perfect getaway location. Comfortable, roomy, fully equipped with everything we needed. Because of its size and layout, it allowed us to have great activities while affording privacy when it was needed. The hosts were very friendly and, even though they lived in close proximity, they completely respected our privacy. The beds were comfortable, the couches were comfortable, the showers had plenty of hot water (and there were plenty of bathrooms). We were very happy that we chose this property.

The cabin is located in a very rural, peaceful setting by a lake. It was nice to sit on the back deck and watch the sunrise rise. Lots of wildlife. It is rustic, decor is eclectic, plenty of seating. You cannot swim in the lake, it is full of moss. The internet did not work. It needed to be cleaned, especially the outdoor areas. Lots of wasps on the porches - they kept diving at my aunt - the mud dauber nests were everywhere. Cobwebs & dust inside. The hosts live in the walk out basement - they were kind and did not interrupt our stay - but you can hear them. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We made great family memories.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The spaces fit our family well. We loved the deck to hang out in every day, and the living room at night to play games. The beds were all comfy and the showers worked well, plenty of hot water. Little disappointed about the lake and swim area. We could not use it at all. The playground seemed unsafe for small children. We did take the canoes out on the lake. Out front of the cabin it was fine, but wished we would have know about the sunken forest in the rest of the lake. We did get hung up in the frees and had a hard time getting out of the trees. Would have like to know the history of the lake. Was it a flooded forest?

Absolutely wonderful

Pictures do not do this place justice.. Family spent a week at cabin 5 adults 9 children.. check in and out was super easy. Host Rick was super awesome, and attentive to any needs we had which were very few. Answered all questions with no problems. With 9 grand kids i know it had to be loud at times but Rick was just amazing... As for the cabin and the property very huge, lots of space for everyone to move around, we all loved the canoes, and the lake,. Cabin had a older rustic charm that was just so beautiful and so well thought out when decorated.. Amazing views sitting on deck, fire pit was awesome, kids loved making smores, as well as all the board games and books available to read. We will definitely be looking into booking this place again, as it is also fairly close to water parks, amusement places, mammoth cave, Nashville, and a whole bunch of other places. A big THANK YOU to the host and his wife for putting up with all the noise from the grandkids, one of if not the best vacation i have taken with my family. Definitely a 10/10..

Memorial Day Vacation

Pictures do not do it justice. Property is gorgeous and so is the house. Very large space indoors and outdoors, but comfortable in a way where you can still enjoy that cozy relaxing feeling. Host was great and very easy to work with and was very helpful and responsive. Fire pit area was perfect for large families and groups. Ease of access to the water front allowed for amazing fishing and awesome views of the sunrises in the early morning. Area was peaceful and was an amazing experience for our family vacation. Highly recommend for other large families looking for a relaxing fun filled vacation rental.

Family wedding weekend

We had a family wedding at Burdoc Farms and my family (my husband and I, my two grown children and their spouses and our five grandchildren (ages 4-11) stayed at the property for the weekend. Everything was absolutely perfect! The house is amazing with plenty of sleeping space for all, very well stocked…it has everything you could possibly need, the decor is so cozy and interesting…something cool to check out everywhere you looked! The lake is amazing. We really enjoyed the canoes and fire pit. Our grandchildren were in heaven!! The owner was so nice and very welcoming. We would highly recommend this property!!! We would love to return to it for another trip!!

This place is wonderful for a family gathering away from all of the craziness and it has everything you will need in preparing dinners and such. I will state that the playground and beach area should not be listed as the playset is old, not safe to use, and there really is no beach area. I am a lake person but will will not want to jump in that lake, it's more for the calming scenery while sipping on your morning coffee which is great on that huge back porch. Nothing fancy, just a place that feels like home or visiting your Aunt Betty that awaits you with fresh baked cookies. We really enjoyed our stay here and would rent again.

Nice cabin, terrible lake

Property listing not accurate at all. We had no WiFi all week, power outage for a couple hours and the worst was the lake. Advertised as a nice fishing and swimming place. No part of this lake can be swam in or fished in. Filled with moss and seaweed like we have never seen before. Had to get a fishing license to go to another lake to fish. Then got lake “service charges” of $206 with no explanation. Beautiful cabin but absolutely would never recommend this rental.

A quiet peaceful setting for our family to spend valued time together!

Our purpose as a family of 15 was to spend quality time together. The quiet woods setting of this property created that for us. It was fine that there wasn't a lot of "activities" to fill our time.....the shelves of books & many cozy seating arrangements called us to enjoy simple things....letting any busyness back home....soaking in the appreciation of our relationships. Loven lake life

It was perfect for my family. 3 grandson 10, 8 an 3 an they loved the lake play area! They caught fish so much they got bored. They enjoyed the canoe an They loved hearing all the stories about the antiques.They even learned how to play chess!!! The house is like museum. An tons of beds lots of seating inside an out. An very close to pennyrile state park. Theres 2 fire pits we didn’t get to use but the land an house is so beautiful, peaceful an we loved all the decor. We could have stayed at the house the whole time. Will deff plan a return trip.

Great place to stay with lots of bonus amenities

This was a perfect place to stay for our extended family of 15. We loved being right on the lake and having immediate access to a kayak and several canoes as well as fishing poles. Lots seating throughout the house and outside. Perfectly situated hammocks, rocking benches, etc for adults to relax AND see the kids playing in the water. A cozy Fire pit area with lots of seating and they generously provided wood for our campfire. There was even a good number of camping roasting sticks for hot dogs/s’mores, a family sized griddle, etc. A little of something for everyone. The house was very clean, but the only downside was that it was somewhat cluttered. There are two wood guns (Think red rider) immediately as you enter the home with one that is easily accessible to children. It can easily be moved somewhere else if that is an issue for your family. There are so many books, games, amenities and decor that there wasn’t any dedicated pantry space to store our food items. We made do with a desk in the side dining room. Just come prepared for not a lot of counter space & you’ll be delighted with everything this place has to offer. The owner was very friendly and a great communicator. I would highly recommend staying here.
