The hotel was awful.. Not worth the price tag that they charge.. the rooms were dirty and very old, the A/C didn’t work even after maintenance came to review it. The beds were hard and lumpy..

Review of My Stay at Riu Palace in Cancun I recently stayed at this hotel and feel compelled to share both the positives and areas that could use serious improvement. Let me begin with the good: the staff was consistently friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with a smile. The food quality exceeded expectations, with a solid variety and good taste throughout the restaurants. However, several aspects were disappointing, especially considering this is a 562-room resort. The gym is ridiculously small, poorly equipped, with barely any cardio machines—completely insufficient for a hotel of this size. The beach area is also extremely limited, almost an afterthought. Architecturally, the hotel lacks warmth or inspiration. It relies entirely on rigid square and rectangular shapes, which give off a cold, corporate vibe. The color scheme is even worse, dominated by a harsh purple and white combination that feels out of place in a Caribbean paradise. What truly detracts from the experience is the overall atmosphere. Instead of offering a relaxing, tropical ambiance that matches the location, the hotel feels like a bustling urban megastructure, noisy and overly dynamic. It lacks the soothing, refreshing energy that one expects in a beach resort. I’ve stayed at other Riu Palace properties—the one in Los Cabos remains the best by far. I can only hope that this Cancun property is the exception, and that the brand hasn’t begun to drop in overall quality.

I liked the inclusivitu! Every type of food was offered in this very clean property. Starbucks-like coffee shop, sports bar and my favorite, the Italian Restaurant offered the best lambchops ever. Most of the staff was friendly. However this Violeta person who was allegedly in charge of PR had the audacity move my family's belongings to a new room without property. The sad part, she lacked the accountability when one fails to follow proper protocol which was disappointing. As we were there celebrating my niece's 21st birthday, we would have preferred the adult property but We had a great time even with the little people running around.

Service was great. Beautiful property. Rooms were average, but clean. It was also kind of loud if you wanted to go to sleep before 12. Most people were spring breakers. Food was average-good, not excellent. There was a wide variety so you should be able to find something you like.

It is a nice place to choose for vacations. I love their beach and all their amenities! Friendly staff! Close to Cancun downtown. Love it!

The short walk from the beach to the pool was very convenient. Entertainment team was amazing at their job. Everyone from Junior at the front desk, Freddy at the lobby bar, Leonardo the waiter at the pool, always made sure we were taken care from the second we got there. The parties are definitely a party. It was a great vacation and we definitely want to come back. The only “complaint”- we could only take the elevators on the right side to get to our room and one out of the three elevators kept breaking. The elevators are small and could only hold 1000kg. So sometimes we would have to wait a little bit. Also, Riu offers transportation only if you book through them. So I had to find transportation. Overall, would do it all again and already planning our trip next year.
