Great check in. Room seemed great too. But then with my shoes off I went over to look out the window. I walked on to saturated carpet near the ac. Apparently the ac is dripping on the carpet.
Then later as we got ready for bed, my wife went into the bathroom and I heard a commotion with the door. She said it wouldn’t close. So I took a look and sure enough, the door was sagging so badly that it took my full strength to drag it across the threshold to close it. And then it took even more effort to get it back open. By the scratches on the threshold, it was clear this wasn’t a new problem.
Here’s what disappoints me the most. This was the last night of a one week trip and we were looking forward to a relaxing night at what is usually a great brand. These problems, especially the dragging door couldn’t have been new. My only conclusion is Hamptons maintenance processes and management follow up are so weak they they either didn’t hear from the room cleaners about the issues, or they knew and rented the room in sad shape anyway. I would like a full refund for this night and an apology from the manager for such shoddy hospitality. I can’t believe it.
