First room had lots of roaches in the bathtub. Switched rooms and it was a bit better but very old and not too nice

Great staff, simple room, wonderful location. Beautiful grounds

STAFF WAS GREAT, VERY HELPFUL, ROOMS WERE OLD AND NEED MUCH TLC. CLEANING OF THE ROOM WAS HIT AND MISS. ROACHES IN ROOM, POOR SELECTION ON TV CHANNELS, BELOW A HOTEL 6

We opted to stay in a room right on the property. For almost $300 per night, it was a complete and total dump. I understand that the main reason for being there is the park, not the rooms. And the room fee did include our waterpark passes, but honestly, I would not stay here again. The room was a equal to a really bad motel room, tiny, run-down, musty, wall mount air conditioner, SUPER old wooden beds and dressers - downright creepy. I think a little honesty could help. I think if I had been expecting a motel style atmosphere, with plastic tables outside every door, then I could have made a choice to accept it or go somewhere else. All they need to do is a little updating, and things would be much better. I still love Schlitterbahn, but their resort rooms are awful.

We had a great time, especially using the shuttle service going back and fourth to Wurst Fest.

We had 1 bedroom suite right off the river. My husband and I had a blast walking the trails along the river, searching for turtles in the water and enjoying breakfast on the balcony each morning. The rooms are slighly worn and the beds are really hard. However, if you are wanting to stay at the park, this place is perfect! We really enjoyed our stay and would definetly come back to enjoy this place over and over again!

It is somewhat run-down. Rooms are ordinary, but clean. No way would I call this a resort. The staff were the only good thing about the place.

All was great at the resort, but wished I had booked directly with them. I would have saved $20!

Had an awesome stay. We didn't want to leave. Great value and view of the park and river.

The ads are very deceptive. When we arrived at the resort the desk clerk was friendly, but we were assigned to a room that had to be the worse room at the resort. Not at all like the ad for the resort that I saw when I made the booking. The room was small, dark, upstairs over the office with mold in the bathroom. Went back to the office and asked for a transfer to another room. We were given a downstairs room (only because my husband has health issues). This room was again, small, dark, everything old looking with mold in the bathroom. Went back to the office and stated that I was willing to pay extra to upgrade to a better room (resort had only two other cars in our area, beside ours-empty). I was informed that since I had booked and payed for the room over the internet and had not booked directly through the resort that I had to take the room I had been assigned and could not upgrade. Night manager never came out of the back room, but I could hear her talking. She sounded upset that I had booked over the internet and made it sound like I was going to be punished for daring to do such a thing. Not at all happy with our stay. Do not think that you will get the room shown in the ad even though they say half price. The room was a nasty dump and if I had not been so tired from the trip, I would have left to find someplace else to stay. Oh, and when I checked out they tried to charge me for the room, because they had not been paid by the internet company yet. I informed them that they had told me that I could not upgrade because I had prepaid over the internet and then they said "oh, that's right". I told the desk clerk that the ad was deceptive and she informed me that if I wanted to have a choice of the type of room next time that I should book directly with the resort.

The only advantage was its availability for the Formula 1 US GP weekend at Austin, TX

Great for WurstFest! Has a shuttle to and from even on Thursday!

We were in Gruene attending ClayFest, which was a short distance away. For what we needed, this was a true value. Not fancy but not spartan. The room had a full kitchen, a terrace out back that would have been exceptional if the weather had not changed, and the only complaint, not enough hot water to fill a bathtub for a soaking bath. We more than got our money's worth. I have to wonder what it would be like during the summer peak season with a full resort...

Checkin was interesting. Just after 7pm... the office was closed... a sign indicated two names (one was mine) and advised to call security - they had the keys. Nice... but the phone was broken and I do not own a cel. So... off we drove to a phone. We got in... but it was... odd. Checkout on Sunday... equally weird. Nobody there until noon... and the number for security (thinking I could get them the keys - i had already paid for the room)... but the number did not work... actually there were 3 numbers that did not work! Staff were great... the place was dead-quiet but easy to find (go to the Hospital and turn left!). Absolutely comfy... absolutely not fancy. I was there to see a show... it worked wonderfully for my son and I.
