Mold, unsanitary conditions in multiple rooms offered. It is completely irresponsible for Orbitz to offer rooms at this property if they know these problems persist.

The staff, pool and restaurant were great. The room left a lot to be desired. We had no hot water for the first three days. When hot water was restored we had to run the water for a long time for it to get to our room on the 7th floor. Peeling paint on the ceiling and crumbled paint/drywall on the floor were disappointing.

The beach is great. Easy access with rentable umbrella / chair set-ups. The pool is nice and has a bar. The new restaurant is also pretty good. They are in the process of renovating. Some of the floors are a little dated. Overall, a good experience.

The information on this hotel fails to say that only 3rd floor has been kind of renovated. Our room had mold on walls in bathroom paint pealing off ceiling, toilet leaking room smelled like mold, towels stained with make up smelled clean but a bunch of stains same with sheets. It’s amazing that they dare to charge what they charge a night. Horrible experience!

Hotel had a great location right on the beach. We checked in a little early but there were no carts available so we had to make multiple trips to get our stuff upstairs. There are only 3 elevators but one was broken so there was always a line. Bathroom could have used a thorough cleaning around faucets and tile lines. We would have really appreciated a microwave since we were there a week. The hotel is pet friendly and our first night there two dogs on our floor barking for over an hour. Staff was aware and was trying to locate owners but it was after 10pm and very annoying. You cannot take any food or beverage into the pool area. They have a swim up bar but did not have certain beers that people wanted. The pool is amazing and I loved the availability of fresh towels by using your key card. Looking forward to seeing the renovations that happen this fall. Overall I would recommend this for families looking for a hotel right on the beach. We felt very safe here as everyone wore a wristband letting staff/security know you were suppose to be there. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Terrible check in staff. Rooms are aged and poorly cleaned. The only benefit was the beach in walkway distance.

Just absolutely dirty. Mold on the wall.

No one informed us the hotel was under construction when we booked. Pool was not open, and this meant there was no access to beach. We stayed here a total of 3 nights on 2 different bookings and switched to 4 different rooms. Rooms were dirty, humid, moldy, rusty, old and disgusting. One of our rooms smelled like nicotine also. Balcony furniture was either missing, broken or mismatched in all 4 of our rooms. One manager was so unprofessional and started saying that it said hotel was under construction on the website we used to book, and once I proved her wrong she said "nothing can be done". Another manager came into play and started showing us different rooms and trying to uncharge is to move to a different room with no mold etc. It is SOOOOO loud, the construction wont even let you sleep. When we arrived all 3 elevators were working, and throughout our stay 2 broke. The day we were checking out we waited 10 min for an elevator because the whole building was running with just 1. This hotel use to be a good one about 10 years ago and over time its just gone downhill. Not to mention the firealarms went off in the middle of the night twice at out stay here back in 2014. Just save your money, go somewhere else and actually enjoy. Because Pearl is nothing but a headache! P.S we were promised a refund and I still have not received it on our first booking!

Check in was fast and easy. The room was a good size for the price. The drinks and food were not good and the service was slow. 3 star experience

STAFF WAS OK THE ROOMS ONCE I GOT MY KEY WAS DIRTY , NO TOWELS , MOLD AND RUST EVERYWHERE WHAT I RESERVED I DIDNT GET I HAD TO TAKE WHAT WAS THERE ,FIRE ALARM WAS PULLED NO ONE COULD USE ANYTHING BUT STAIRS FOR OVER 2 HOURS ALL AROUND HORRIBLE!!!!

No pool in service and we were charged the amenities fee of $40. One of the bed's was missing a blanket and had to use towels since they did not answer the front desk phone. Hotel needs maintenance. In bathroom, rusted sink, rusted tub and flooring.

The pictures used for this hotel seem to be from the hotel next door. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED.

The hot tube is broke ... there is mold in the rooms, no room service , no drink water only bottle , want towels go get them urself, no beach towels ( u have to bring ur own) and this is a beach front hotel, pool is all molding busted plaster , horrible toilet smell coming from the out door bar... just not what u paied for

The review is pointless nothing will be done to fix how horrible it was

I walked into no air conditioning in the lobby. They had huge fans blowing to dry the floors. The television was out. Forget a hot shower, the hotel had no hot water.

I really liked the location and the pool is amazing. Staff was very courteous and friendly. I also liked that the ocean was 10 feet away. What i didnt like was my room wasn't clean and the property was long overdue for some renovations. If they can renovate, this resort will be hard to beat.

Property sucked

**EXCITING NEWS from our new management to the online travel community – PLEASE READ** This will be the last season of the Pearl Resort as you know it. Until this September, we will continue to provide a place that promises the following: - Easy on and off access from the Queen Isabella Bridge - A location directly on South Padre Beach with access directly from our resort - All Gulf Views from our Guest Rooms with Private Balconies - A newly renovated heated pool [largest on the Island] - A new swim-up bar and food trailer - A wonderful new restaurant called Landshark Bar & Grill with the best views of the Gulf on the Island - Warm and friendly service - A family oriented environment We will be closing down in September for a full renovation and reopen in 2023 with a brand new resort and become part of a brand that is known to have some of the most fun and upscale locations around the world. We cannot tell you more right now, but if you would like to know, you can search for our hotel on the internet to read more about the changes. I would suggest going on the valleycentral website and search “Pearl South Padre Reopening.” Finally, we are currently aware of some of the items that come along with having an older product that needs renovation in the rooms. This is ok. We know who we are and what we provide and the people who come here with the right expectations as we live out our final months as the Pearl will have a great time.
