Nice property. Pictures are a little misleading because they show condos and townhome along with their amenities that are not part of the hotel. The hotel also has hidden fees that are not advertised with the price on Orbitz.
the swimming pool is outstanding and the sunday brunch was spectacular but no oystrrs rockfeller. l love comming here anytime of year.the beach is relaxing and rejuvinating and the national seashore. is beautiful. l keep comming back.
The staff was extremely friendly. The food was great! The pool and bar area were fantastic. Our room view was awesome. The beds were comfy. The bath and body product were amazing. The building just needs some TLC on the interior. The lounge chairs and umbrellas should be at no charge since we are charged a "resort fee". I would definitely come back.
The property is run down. The waterfall in the pool was never on. The hot tubs had no heat and the main pool was like bath water. The door to our room didnt latch and had to be forcefully pulled or pushed shut. We were at the property for three days without housekeeping. It took multiple phone calls the third day and into the night just to receive fresh towels that were then thrown onto the bathroom sink after we left for dinner.
Problem 1: one of our beds had dirty sheets. There were black hairs On it. When we called the front desk to report it, the clerk said someone from housekeeping would be right up. Over an hour later as the midnight hour was approaching, I called again because no one came. The desk clerk acted like this was the first she heard about the dirty sheets and again stated that someone would be right up. 15 minutes later, someone indeed came, but just handed us the sheets, which I guess is fine, but I was surprised because I thought they’d make up the bed. Problem 2: On our second day of our stay we came back to our room to find water puddled up on two-thirds of the floor. My husband thought the refrigerator was leaking, which was strange because we didn’t use it. We called the front desk and the clerk said she’d send a plumber up. Before I could ask, “Why a plumber,” she hung up. An hour and 15 minutes later, no one came. I called again and she said that no one from maintenance was working that night, but maybe security could take it out. 40 minutes later, she did call back, and told us security couldn’t do that and that they were sorry, but there was nothing they could do. We ended up putting more towels on the floor and going to bed close to 12:30. In the morning, everything was covered in condensation. Our belongings and walls were damp. The doors were so damp that there was streaks of water running down them.
One of the nicer places I have stayed on the island!
Pros - The staff were friendly, the view of the ocean from the beach is lovely, and the chair rentals out front were great. The shampoo/conditioner was Bath and Body Works so that's always nice. Cons - The website states that all rooms have a view of the ocean. That is false - you could not see the ocean from our room unless you walked all the way to the right side of the balcony and even then, you could barely see it. The nicer restaurant in the hotel was OK. If you are vegetarian, there is only 1 option on their menu and they do not accommodate. The staff will leave tables with dirty dishes/food for long periods of time before cleaning them up. The pool was disgusting. The area where the swim up bar is smelt even worse. I left a pair of white pants in the closet and no one called me to inform me. Quite upsetting. Our room was not very clean - sand was all over the floor upon arriving. The hallways smelt horrible and the trash by the elevators had something in there that was rotting and it took them all day to empty. I wouldn't have complained as much as I am had the price per night been half of what it was. We will never stay here again as there are many much nicer hotels on the island or on VRBO.
Whole place needs to be cleaned up , upgraded, no beachtowels, ran out twice, the only saving grace was Beachside grill has amazing food, short staffed however
This hotel is not too great. The room was ok, but the lobby and elevators felt like one giant advertisement. Also, my room faced the side, so the view was not too good either.
The hotel has not been updated in years. You feel like you’re in a really old hotel, don’t be fooled by the 2 towers next to it, the hotel is actually a small building next to it. The staff, horrible service, the jacuzzi didn’t work the entire time we were there. Check in is at 4 pm, we had to stand in line until 5:30 to check in, walked into the room and there was no toilet paper, this is supposed to be a resort yet they can’t even with you a free bottle of water in your room, each water is $4. We had to wait until 11 pm to get pool towels, they kept saying they didn’t have any, when we finally got them they didn’t even give us the towels folded, the just took them straight out of the dryer and gave them to us. In the morning we tried their breakfast buffet. We arrived one hour and half before they closed the buffet and they didn’t have half of the food that was on the buffet menu. The “Swim up bar” was closed by 6 pm l. I will not be staying in this “Resort” never ever again. We payed for 3 rooms and honestly this was a waste of money.
The pool is not heated only swim up bar. So the kids could not swim it was too cold. Also the swim up bar was only open on the weekend in feb. The hot tub was great! Always hot. The beds were comfy for one person double beds.
The staff was great everyone was really friendly and attentive no complaints there pools seemed nice good beach access, the room felt really outdated I guess maybe I just expected more but it was clean overall hotel felt dated.
Great location for beach access. Nice pool area. Not too close (walking) to any shopping. No microwave oven in room. They said they would bring one. But, one was never brought to room.
Excellent location and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. But the property is showing it's age and we discovered a roach in our room. The floors are all tile (I'm not surprised considering the beach location) but they felt cold and clammy all the time. Overall had a pleasant experience made that way primarily through location and the warm staff.
