Vagabond Inn Executive San Francisco Airport

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Picked this hotel for its proximity to both SF and Stanford University. Nothing fancy. Comfortable bed (which I usually cannot say). Simple but good breakfast.

Close proximity to the airport five minute shuttle ride, staff was very pleasant rooms were very clean

Great place for late arrivals or early morning departures. Or vice versa.

Good Buffet Breakfast & Place to Crash after Working the weekend at the SFO Airport

Arriving late and tired, unfamiliar with the new timezone in SF, requested a 5am wakeup call not to oversleep and miss the morning flight the next day. Also, given a room on the last floor, end of the hallway with no staff to help with the heavy luggage. The staff FORGOT to make the requested wakeup call, and when confronted, dismissed it as not a big issue and not even an apology was given. Luckily had alarm set at the right time (despite confusion on different time zone).

The guy at the front desk was nice. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast hot and yummy. The view was beautiful. Overall we had a great stay with a good view of the ocean.

Very enjoyable to sit in the room and watch planes take off and land. The windows could have been cleaner. We were on the second floor and the people in the room above us were very noisy.

We were woke at three a.m. by the phone ringing with no answer. Then someone trying to get in our front door.stopped for awhile then tried again. Called the front desk which was busy so we used our cell and it went through. He said it was him and he thought we were in a different room so he made more cards for another couple and came to help them when they couldn't get in.

Way much better hotels for the price they offer. Since I need to fill more in this block or else I cant submit my review, ill just copy and paste point mentioned above. Way much better hotels for the price they offer

The hotel was ok, although it is dated and I believe overpriced.

Excellent accommodations and staff. Only drawback is the airplane noise...price you pay for great convenience! Very good restaurant (elephant bar) next door, also.

A/C barely worked, could not keep the room cool. Cheap hotel, will be spending a littl more to get a better place next time.

My whole stay was colored by the fact there was a bug in my bed. Plus all the AC units,in the complex were out. I will say they did change my room for me, but I wouldn't go back.

Good scheduled airport shuttle and breakfast with bacon.

This old motel close to the airport is nicely positioned on the shore of the Bay. Solid wood trim and finish with surrounding trees give it a pleasant feel. The staff, evening and morning, were extremely competent and friendly. Our room was clean enough and adequately supplied with lights, towels, toiletries, and service devices such as coffee maker, iron, hair dryer, fridge, microwave. The passing years are showing though. Holes and patched holes in the walls were pictures and devices used to hang, dings in the furniture and floor molding, and carpeting that holds the markings of many long past adventures set a tone of "somewhat run down." Recommendation: management should spend some time in the rooms and seriously consider whether they would be satisfied with the fit and finish for the price being charged. There's a loud, corporate restaurant/bar within easy walking distance next door for evening R&R.

Strict on check in times. Late April only able to heat the room. To offset this, the front desk did provide me with a portable fan/air conditioner. Every room programed only to heat. On an arbitrary date, every room will only be able to cool. The bay was beautiful and accessible. The breakfast and coffee was over the top.

Pros: Quiet, Stable Internet Cons: Room was not dirty, but I felt itchy when I was in the bed. I was not very happy with the service of cleaning. I prefer not to have cleaning every day, so I have put "do not disturb" on the door, but the staff still entered my room and took away my shampoo without replacing a new one. With that price, there are many better options available in the area.

Stayed there as it was a lower cost alternate to nearby upscale chain hotels. Was attending a meeting down the street. Room was nice. Clean. Comfortable. More like a motel than hotel. Breakfast was OK, not much seating area. Wi-fi was barely usable.

It was a room, the bed was uncomfortable and it was further from downtown than I thought.

The staff were polite and the room was mostly clean, however the beat up ceiling panels, the worn wallpaper, the stained carpet and the worn paint on the door makes it hard to focus on the clean. It could use a good renovation. Elephant bar was right next door and you can see the airport. There is also a lovely trail along the water. So if you can overlook the old, it is a good stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We deeply apologize that your wake up call was not set! We have reminded and retrained all of the front staff to stop, and AS the request is made, set the alarm. Again, we are so very sorry. We hope you enjoyed your stay other than that.
