Vagabond Inn Executive San Francisco Airport

Recent guest reviews

Good scheduled airport shuttle and breakfast with bacon.

This old motel close to the airport is nicely positioned on the shore of the Bay. Solid wood trim and finish with surrounding trees give it a pleasant feel. The staff, evening and morning, were extremely competent and friendly. Our room was clean enough and adequately supplied with lights, towels, toiletries, and service devices such as coffee maker, iron, hair dryer, fridge, microwave. The passing years are showing though. Holes and patched holes in the walls were pictures and devices used to hang, dings in the furniture and floor molding, and carpeting that holds the markings of many long past adventures set a tone of "somewhat run down." Recommendation: management should spend some time in the rooms and seriously consider whether they would be satisfied with the fit and finish for the price being charged. There's a loud, corporate restaurant/bar within easy walking distance next door for evening R&R.

Strict on check in times. Late April only able to heat the room. To offset this, the front desk did provide me with a portable fan/air conditioner. Every room programed only to heat. On an arbitrary date, every room will only be able to cool. The bay was beautiful and accessible. The breakfast and coffee was over the top.

Pros: Quiet, Stable Internet Cons: Room was not dirty, but I felt itchy when I was in the bed. I was not very happy with the service of cleaning. I prefer not to have cleaning every day, so I have put "do not disturb" on the door, but the staff still entered my room and took away my shampoo without replacing a new one. With that price, there are many better options available in the area.

Stayed there as it was a lower cost alternate to nearby upscale chain hotels. Was attending a meeting down the street. Room was nice. Clean. Comfortable. More like a motel than hotel. Breakfast was OK, not much seating area. Wi-fi was barely usable.

It was a room, the bed was uncomfortable and it was further from downtown than I thought.

The staff were polite and the room was mostly clean, however the beat up ceiling panels, the worn wallpaper, the stained carpet and the worn paint on the door makes it hard to focus on the clean. It could use a good renovation. Elephant bar was right next door and you can see the airport. There is also a lovely trail along the water. So if you can overlook the old, it is a good stay.

Only stayed for a day to wait for early flight. Bed was comfy. Wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the breakfast.

Pro: Clean and comfortable rooms. Con: Small breakfast room.

This hotel offers free airport shuttle with a good schedule, comfortable beds, and offers complimentary breakfast that includes eggs, sausage, bacon, hash brown, pastries, coffee, juice, etc. Nearby, is the Bullshead Restaurant, that serves both American and Japanese favorites, such as, burgers, fries, sushi and bentos. Affordable prices, perfect for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The hotel staff was not as friendly or helpful, to the extent that I kept communication with them to a minimum.

The room was clean, beds super comfortable and the room also has a microwave and refrigerator. Because of the high prices of airport hotels, it is a welcome budget alternative.

Hotel is a fairly convenient place to stay with a free shuttle to airport. Breakfast was pretty good but all the tables had food and stuff on them from the previous guest. Behind hotel is bay and airport and there is a walking path - always a welcome sight for travelers like me. I was hoping for a room with a view of something other than the parking lot. They offered to upcharge me for that. My TV would not power on with the remote but there were lots of choices when I did get it to turn on. The bedding was clean and comfortable. The carpeting and wall decor needed attention or replacement quite badly.

We are seniors with health issues. Put on 3rd floor, then elevator stopped working. Realize hotels in SF, near airport are expensive but this hotel much too high for value.

We were staying at the hotel with our 3 month old and they said they didn't have a pack n play for her when they told us they would have one available. The ladies at the front desk were rude and spoke little English. The hotel manager was supposed to call me about all the issues that we had experienced and still have yet to hear from her and it's been a week. The view is amazing and the bed is firm and comfortable. Remember to ask the front desk for more towels as they give you 2 in the room, don't ask housekeeping because they no habla English. Price was good for San fransisco but would have rather paid extra to have a better experience.

Our stay was great. Quiet and breakfast was great, many options.

The view of the bay was nice. Hotel staff were friendly. However, the room was hot and stuffy. You're not able to control the AC.

Inexpensive SFO option. The hotel is right on the Bay Trail (for those wanting to run or walk). Some rooms are outside facing (motel style). Heating and air was pretty antiquated (i.e. no options, you can only control the speed of the fan, not the actual temperature). Small rooms, good for a single business traveler who won't spend much time in the room. I do not recommend for families.
