The staff is great … will come back again.
We wanted a convenient, quiet place to sleep and take a shower in between days of exploring the city, and this hotel was exactly that. The room was clean, if a little bare, and the bed was comfortable. The shower was hot and the staff was friendly. For the price it was an excellent location, walkable to pretty much all forms of public transit plus a rental car garage. There's lots of food and coffee options nearby, including a diner attached to the hotel itself, and it's only a few blocks from the Market St shopping area. We weren't ever out particularly late but never felt unsafe coming or going even after dark. While the Touchstone isn't a luxury hotel, it IS a great place to stay if you want to get out and see SF.
Excellent location. The hotel is at walking distance from the Union Square. Great area to be at. The room was basic but functional. The receptionists were so kind.

We felt wonderfully cared for by the lovely staff. The room was charming. We would recommend this hotel highly to our friends. Next time we come to San Francisco we look forward to coming back to this hotel!!

Thank you! Yes, close to Union Square we are. The famed cable cars are close enough for you to hear but distant enough not to run you over.
