Queen Anne Hotel

good value for the money, great location. Staff excellent. Could use a little refreshing in the bathrooms and linens.

It's an experience from a different era. Lovely common areas as well as great staff. Highly recommend. If you're looking for high-end, state of the art hotel, this place isn't for you. But if you like a quaint location with lovely staff and hard boiled eggs for breakfast, stay at the Queen Anne. You might also catch a glimpse of ghost Mary Lake popping in to check on the guests. :)

We were very pleasantly surprised with the Queen Anne Hotel. Convenient to JTown, off street parking (lot), large room, high ceiling (even on 2nd floor), interesting Victorian era decor, staff is very friendly & accommodating.

We'd been to San Francisco a couple times before, so I wanted to stay in a different neighborhood than Union Square / South of Market area. This wasn't the best choice. I like character in a hotel, but this one was over-the-top gaudy and just old. As soon as I walked in, I noticed a weird smell. It wasn't as strong in our room, but was still there. My husband, giving the benefit of the doubt said it might be cleaning products, but I think it was mildew. I noticed some in the bathroom tiles, although the bathroom was otherwise clean. The first night was so cold. We didn't notice that the heat didn't work until about 11 pm. I won't say we both left our trip sick, because of that, but it probably exacerbated our colds. The next night they gave us a space heater. The sherry and cookies in the evening are a nice gesture, but the sherry wasn't very good. They provide complementary breakfast, but this isn't what I consider a bed and breakfast. It was basically continental with a waffle maker. We're in our early 40s, but we still were definitely the youngest ones that I saw. The best aspect was the lounge area with the two fireplaces, although some of the upholstery was also stained and old. Staff was nice and acknowledged it was an old building, but I just can't recommend. We stayed at the White Swan years ago and they did everything right that this hotel did wrong. This place requires a serious updating.

Very cozy & comfortable with good breakfast. Nice places by fireplaces in lobby to sit and chat.

The maid service was very poor in cleaning the bathroom and replacing daily sundries like soap, shampoo, etc.I stayed there for 4 nights, some times Iwe would come back late in the afternoon and the room was not yet serviced and we would have to wait in the lobby after we asked for the room to be cleaned.

When I considered this hotel, 3 stars was the expectation. From the random hairs stuck to the bathroom walls to the jarringly loud rattling windows (whether open or closed), there are a plethora of reasons not to return to this hotel. The staff were nice enough, but upon direct request plates and mugs were not removed from the room. In the end I had to sit them in the hallway - were they remained for over 24 hours.

Quiet location. Easy to walk down to Civic Center and back. Safe neighborhood. Was lucky to find parking. Would return each time in SF if rates were a bit lower.

The staff is friendly and efficient. The hotel was really decorated for Christmas. We had a very pleasant stay.

I love this hotel! Everyone is so accomodating and helpful! The rooms were super comfortable, great parking and the daily breakfasts were delightful, yummy waffles! If you like vintage 17th century decor, The Queen Anne is the place. I'm already counting the days till the next visit :)

This hotel was a great value. It was in a very good location, was clean, and staff was friendly. Would recommend!

Hotel met and in many cases exceeded our expectations

What a wonderful place to stay. Yeah, there's an old, musty smell in the hallways and open areas, but it's a very old building. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and walking in feels like stepping into the past. The staff is over the top friendly and helpful, the lobby is relaxing and really beautiful. This was the only hotel we've ever spent time lounging in the lobby. I'll stay here again!

Beautiful decor, friendly staff, good location. We were on vacation in SF after my son's wedding. We had a nice visit

Maid service did a weird job on the bed one day, with a bottom sheet that didn't tuck in (so didn't stay put) and a top sheet that was several feet too short for the bed. Other than that, great room, friendly staff. Note it sounds like an old house - noise from street can be heard easily through windows, if not on top floor you may hear the walking/jumping (someone was exercising above me, I swear jumping rope..) through the floors. still worth staying in such a beautiful place with so much history.

Queen Anne Hotel was a nice hotel with friendly staff. The free breakfast was a nice touch. I loved the happy hour with delicious cookies. The fireplaces in the lobby warmed us up from the chilly walks through the streets of San Francisco. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location was good as we were walking distance from great places to shop and eat.

the hotel was extremely clean very pleasant staff with extremely out of their way to make you feel welcome would definitely definitely stay again

very confortable, its awsome, its a museum the hotel its a beatifull antique, the breakfast its good, it has a marvelus location.

I can't say enough good things about the Queen Anne. Staff were helpful and considerate while the rooms were spacious and classical.

Great staff- very cool hotel to stay-different from the norm would recommend.
