The Hoyle was very nice, staff very friendly and you can’t beat the location! Right next to the gate of Chinatown. The only reason I’m deducting a star is you have to park at a local parking garage which was a few blocks away.

This Hotel was an excellent value overall. Property was in a safe area, flanked by Chinatown, and easily accessible to Union Square and public transit via a short walk. The staff was top notch from the check-in experience, and cleaning, to sending periodic text messages to make sure my stay was going well. Although this hotel's decor is not super modern, they more than compensate for this, with their attitude, exceptional cleanliness, and overall upkeep of the property. Highly recommended.

Super friendly staff and great location!
This place is great. It is only about fifty feet from the famous Grant Avenue gate to Chinatown. It is nicely decorated--classy but not ostentatious. Three blocks to the BART light rail. Walkable to Fisherman's Wharf (a couple of miles). And the staff is friendly and helpful. I'd decide to stay there again in a second.
