I wish I could give this property a better rating because it has potential; however, the rooms and the hallways are incredibly dated which really lets it down. The first room we were given on the 4th floor had an overpowering "sour" smell as we walked in the door. We couldn't identify the source of the smell but noticed that the room had quite a shabby appearance - dirty curtains and carpet, banged up furniture, etc. We immediately went downstairs to reception and told the young lady (Corinne) about the smell and she became quite accusatory as if we had caused the smell. I indicated that we had only gone to the room minutes before and left immediately as the smell was so strong. She seemed very put out that she would have to find another room for us and offered no apology for the inconvenience. She came across as very annoyed and appeared to not believe our claim. On the other hand, her colleague at the desk helped us a little later and she was extremely pleasant & helpful. Thankfully, Corinne found it in her heart to give us a new room and we were fairly pleased with it; although it had old and worn furnishings, it was clean and smelled fresh. We headed out to visit some friends and as we passed the front desk we both gave thumbs up to Corinne and said something like "much nicer room; thanks" and she said "I need your keys back" This completely confused as we thought she was kicking us out the hotel or something! Then she said, "I need the keys back from the first room" and I reminded her that I gave them to her when I came to let her know that our room was stinky. Once again she started making faces as if I was lying to her and she said "You did?" Why I would keep them, I'm not too sure, but after she seemed to be carrying on a debate in her head for awhile, she simply and flatly responded, "perhaps" I have to say this was one of the weirdest customer service experiences we have ever had. When we got outside the hotel, we started laughing because it was as though we had entered an alternate universe. Maybe she was having a bad day, but making the customer feel at fault is NEVER the way to deal with issues. Perhaps some additional training is needed here. Next morning, the breakfast lady was extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was limited and bland, but at least we could have tea and some yogurt.

Nice staff and big rooms. Nice bathroom too. Breakfast is standard. Nice small town where salmons come to the lake every four years...make the lake looks red. Beautiful scenery with Rocky and other mountains around.

We visit Salmon Arm once a year in the summer for a family visit. This hotel, formerly a Holiday Inn, is our favourite for many reasons including price, service, room and friendliness. We just stayed here for the fourth year in a row and the experience was consistently excellent. Jill the manager, Shauna the waitress, Heather the receptionist made us feel very welcome once again. We will be back next year! Book a king size room on the top floor (Our favourite is #517). You will not be disappointed!

We stopped at this hotel when travelling through to Victoria. Its an older hotel but was clean and came with a decent breakfast in the morning. It is pet friendly and there is grass to take your pup to. We have stayed here 3 times and would stay here again.

The hotel is nice, clean, and tidy. We were in a suite, the bedding is very good and comfortable room. The one thing that was a bit disappointing was when we came in to park the 2nd night, someone had parked a truck and trailer in prime parking area taking up 6 spots. We thought we would just mention it to the front desk, thinking they may want to put up a sign or something to encourage future owners of a trailer to park further back. We were told in no uncertain terms that it was first come first serve and that she wasn't going to call the owner to move his unit. That was not our goal, we just thought the hotel may want to encourage parking of trailers further back so that in this case 6 other guests could park a bit closer to the entrance.

I needed a room a 10:30 Friday of the long weekend when I found out I am way too old to couch surf. I think I got last room available. The front desk staff are amazing and fit me in for the next night too. Rooms very clean, nice pillow choices on a comfortable bed.

Went here on business ... the preferred hotel was sold out so decided to stay at the Comfort Inn. It was an OK place to stay ... seemed like they could not afford vacuum cleaners since the floor in our room was dirty. Count on spending twice as much on food than you would at home.

This hotel lived up to Comfort Inn & Suites' great reputation. We upgraded from a room with 2 queens to a suite with 2 queens, and a separate room with a pull out sofa and fridge, sink and microwave. A TV in each room with French doors between the rooms. Well worth the money. Breakfast had a good selection. Hotel has an indoor heated pool and hot tub. Front desk staff was very friendly. Beds and pillows were so comfortable.

The hotel had a great presence. Felt a little old. Rooms are a bit old and need some TLC. However, it was a great stay and great staff. Loved the pool. Small but adequate. Had a great breakfast as well.

The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I had a great night sleep!! Didn't get a chance to go in the pool this time, but have in the past. Breakfast was nice as well, with good options. Would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers. My only constructive criticism is that upon check in and check out there wasn't someone at the desk, so had to wait a while. Once the staff arrived though, they were very pleasant.
