Sliding doors off kitchen open to shaded deck to watch birds feeding & other wildlife while enjoying your morning coffee or watching the sunset sipping a glass of wine.
The main living room has a wood-burning fireplace, a flat screen smart TV & an upright piano. A second smart TV is located in the reading room also on the first floor. There is 5G Wi-Fi throughout the home.
The property lends itself to very good turkey, woodcock & deer hunting. For the fly fishermen, the legendary BattenKill River is only 3 miles away.
Hike the groomed trails through the meadows as you look at the budding trees of Spring or the changing colors of Autumn. Observe hawks flying in the upper forest or look for the abandoned outbuilding that is the remnants of a hunting cabin.
Take a drive through the Green Mountains to "leaf-peep" or meander over to RS Taylor Brewery in W. Hebron on Rt 30 & sample their Craft beers.
There are 5 covered bridges within five miles surrounding Salem. The closest is on Rexleigh Road in Salem. Also, there is one in Downtown Shushan near The Georgi Museum.
For historians, the Revolutionary Cemetery in Salem is the largest burial ground, in the North East, of soldiers from the Revolutionary War's "Battle of Saratoga". It is a Registered Historic Place.
Cut down your own Christmas tree at Thomson's Tree Farm on Rt 22 north toward Granville. Go skiing at Willard Mountain in Greenwich or Bromley Mountain in VT.
There is shopping in Manchester, VT at the designer outlets (charging no sales tax on clothing) & at the Orvis Flagship fly fishing store, 45 minutes away
Do not miss the Cambridge Antique Center in Cambridge for antiques and collectibles.
A hidden gem is "Salem Art Works", affectionately called SAW, which offers courses in glassblowing, welding, iron pouring & ceramics. Don't miss the Wood-fired ceramic kiln firing twice a year. They also have a several mile hiking trail that is open to the public, dusk to dawn, offering a spectacular view of the countryside & the Green Mountains.
When you return from a busy day, warm up by the fire. A firewood supply is readily available for use in the fireplace & the wood-burning stove in the kitchen.
