The rooms 600/700s are located in an older part of the resort that need a serious upgrade. I walked in and was immediately hit with a musky smell my, bed sheets were full of sand and we had a wall air conditioner that wasn’t up to the taste of removing the humidity in the room. The balcony is pretty much unusable as the furniture is incredibly uncomfortable. These rooms are the black sheep of the resort. Very disappointing.

It is a hike to get up to the oceanview. You can see the ocean from afar but the view is obstructed by the buildings. The window also obstructs the view. Can't see the ocean unless you are standing. Room was a very small cubical. First and last time I stay in the oceanview rooms. It is a top notch place in all other areas. Room service food not so good. Ordered a Pastrami steak. Never heard of it. It was nothing more than a tasteless flank steak.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The view from our oceanfront balcony was amazing. The location was close to everything. We loved everything about it.

Beautiful location in front of the water. Friendly staff.

Beautiful and clean hotel with amazing customer service!

Overpriced, non-relaxing environment, cramped & dated spa, rude staff

I have to say I was dissapointed w/ Gurneys. I wanted to stay for 2 nights but they have a minimum 3 night stay policy. It cost ~ $1,600.00/night without tax w/a discount I got from orbitz. It rained the entire time. When it rains there is nothing to do, everyone staying in the hotel is stuck in the small commen area where there is the lobby, a coffee shop, a restaurant and bar. It was not what I expected for a place that charges all this money. The food & drinks are terribly expensive as well but good,1 drink was $18.00. To top it off the resort fee is ~20% of what your room fee is a night! But gurneys in RI is $35.00/night fee & gurneys yacht club is 50/night (I stayed there last year). I cannot believe the resort fee here was ~250/night and to top it off I only stayed 2 of the 3 nights and they still charged me the resort fee for the night I was not there which is insane because I did not use the resort. The best part is when I left their system was down I was unable to get a receipt and as I was driving home my credit card company calls me to tell me gurneys charged over $1,000.00 on my card. I immediately called them and they told me they charged me for my last night stay for who knows what reason because my trip was paid for in full prior to my arrival. I had to fight to get a refund which I obtained. I will never ever return to gurneys again and I will never ever recommend it to anyone. In the end I could have went to Italy for cheaper than what I paid for here.

Overpriced for what you get but nice overall - good location — Ritz and Four Seasons prices but not similar accommodations

It's such a beautiful place and I LOVE the seawater pool. I sort of miss the older, funkier Gurneys but the food now is twice as good and it was a deluxe splurge for a friend's birthday and we all had a marvelous time being spoiled brats.

Everyone & everything was wonderful. Perfect/quiet escape for a long, relaxing weekend.

Try to upgrade to oceanfront. The other rooms are a bit of a hike.

I jave stayed numerous times and never dusappointrd

The front desk and the check in experience. We were greeted with "Hello, oh, I see you booked on expedia." I replied that it was Orbritz. I then inquired about the view and if we could see the ocean. The agent replied "Well you have the parking lot in front of you." We booked an ocean front junior suite online and I asked her if that view wasn't great if there was a room we could upgrade too? She just said no there isn't. I then replied I would pay an upgrade fee we just really wanted to see the ocean and she again just replied, there isn't anywhere to upgrade to. We weren't told about the restaurant, where to have breakfast, the coffee bar or the spa. It was just a very cold transaction and being the first point of contact for the guest arriving at the hotel it was less than satisfactory. When we arrived in the room the parking lot was in front of us but just beyond that was the ocean. It was a really beautiful view. The agent really undersold the view and missed an opportunity to sell the outlet spaces in the hotel.
