I'm checking out early...the fitness center should be condemned. It has years of sweat, dust and unknown matter caked on equipment, floors and walls. I asked 3 times if they could have it cleaned and after 5 days it's gross as ever. I travel 40 weeks annually and try to keep fit, but I don't want to workout in other guests body fluids. This is a tired and unkempt property, there's other and better options.
Booked a block of rooms for a family wedding. The wedding rate far exceeded the value of the hotel. Although the room was clean, it was fairly sterile and not very comfortable. The pool area was a better place to gather as there was nowhere inside for family to be together except in the very public lobby. I would not return to this hotel.
Spacious and very clean rooms in a very desirable location. We had a suite that could easily accommodate a family of four. There was a pull out bed in the living room. Complementary breakfast was more than adequate. Walking distance to three restaurants. Highly recommend.
Went to check in at about 930pm and they walked me. No avail so sent me and my family with young kids to Grand Hotel. Okay...bit I asked the girl at desk if the accommodations would be similar. Although wanted/needed kitchenette...was okay with losing that, but asked the front desk woman if I would get connected rooms or a suite with a separate living area as I had a sick child, didn't want them to wake early, etc etc. She said it was a nice hotel and they would take care of me. Yea, well checked in to Grand and got a standard double room...no separate area, no kitchenette, now it is way late for children. So very frustrated. Called Marriott and they called the Residence Inn. They finally agreed to get me a second room, but by then kids were asleep, it was lare, and the room was across the hall, not connecting. Marriott representative very helpful and empathetic. GRAND Hotel staff over the top acconodstong, polite and empathetic. So I thank them. Just very frustrated we got walked.
A bit disappointed compared to our last experience with Residence Inn : Family room (4 people) are OK, but sofa bed was not even ready on arrival... and not comfortable at all ! Bathroom is not nice... only plain. Breakfast is only average (scrambled eggs are bad...) Swimming pool is nice I don't think we'll go back there... not really worth the money spent
This was our second time staying here, and we was a little disappointed. The front desk was very polite and professional. We thought housekeeping could have done a better job of cleaning our room, as the tub was not cleaned. The beds were kind of hard to sleep on. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people who stayed there this past weekend, so getting breakfast in the morning was a challenge. The hotel is in a good spot close to shops and restaurants. Overall, the hotel could use some upgrades, but is decent enough if visiting the area.
I was in town for a friend's wedding with my wife and friend. The hotel was very nice for the one night. The bed was comfortable and from what my friend said the pull out was comfortable as well. Overall a good hotel.
I'v relocated from Northern Virginia for a work related Government assignment for the Summer of 2017. Jeanette of Marriot was very welcoming to myself and my superior upon arrival and since. Daily breakfast is plentiful and Mon, Tue, Wed evenings there is some chow offerings which we partake of. Indoor pool is sufficient that opens up to a patio grilling area with chaise lounges - a putting green and basketball hoop. Parking is always free and available. I have two more months to go - Keep Up the good work Residence Inn Poughkeepsie Marriot!
We were treated to an upgrade which was a pleasant surprise given the late hour of our check-in. Thank you for that! The room was clean with the exception of a broken cabinet doors in the kitchen (shabby) and a huge disturbing stain on the bathroom rug. I put a towel over it and things were fine. We were comfortable and the popcorn in the room is an excellent touch. Breakfast (I had eggs) was eh, cold and rubbery but I guess I could have opted for the carb fest of waffles, fruit, oatmeal and toast which all looked good. The coffee was very good.
Average sums it up. Room was ok, staff friendly. Pool area was badly used by a group ( family? ) of 8 to 10 kids who were unsupervised and running all over. This is difficult for the staff to control, but nonetheless expected by the other paying customers. Would not be inclined to return.
