I have stayed at Summit several times, and have always been satisfied with my stay. I did see some less than stellar reviews as I was looking through them, and I hate to see those. But, NEVER NEVER NEVER rent straight through the condo office! You never know what you're going to get when you do that. You have to RENT THROUGH AN OWNER. Some units at Summit (and most other condos I assume) are owned by the resort and not private owners. IF YOU DON'T rent through an owner and choose to go through the office you have no idea what you are getting, and you may pay the price for it! That's when you end up extremely frustrated and disappointed, and all you get in return is the company blurb in response to a negative review.
Spring break for 30-40 year olds. Lots of drinking, tons of cigarette smoke. Kids have fun! Shopping carts 🛒 in corridors, lots of wireless speakers playing different music that people think you want to hear. Room 514 was especially nice.
I don't recommend staying here. I was told I would have room 102 close to my grandchildren. When we arrived in town, called to let them know I was here early. Was told to check in at 12. That's when I was told they gave my room to someone else and I would be in room 124. Room wasn't ready till 5:05 , it reeked, smelled like a wet dog, the tile on floor was broke they put black duct tape on it. Handles were missing off the cabinets I could go on, but you get the picture. Was offered a room on the 13th floor. Took me 20 minutes to get the elevator to go up. After looking at the room was tired of waiting on elevator I walked down the 13 flights of stairs. Was no way I was going to go through that for the next 7 days. At 8:00 they finally showed me a room on the 2nd floor, Room 208. Need less to say I took it because it did not STINK however the bathroom had mold on the tile, went to dollar store to buy bleach and clean myself. The microwave on the inside was nasty. Don't think it had been cleaned in a month. Stove top was greasy . Counter top were sticky. Not a single bowl in the cabinets or a sauce pan, couldn't boil water if I wanted to. I put a sheet on the sofa, there was no way I was going to sit on it. I would be ashamed to say I owned anything here.. As far as the staff, they don't know what guest service is! OVERALL NASTIEST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED AT.
We stayed the week of July 4th 2019. The washing machine flooded the unit and the unit below. We were not able to use it and it was still filled with water when we left. No one came to help mop it up. My wife and I mopped up the mess. The chair in the dinning room are broken the patio glass door is warn and may fall toward spinnakers. We had a terrible experience and I wish I had read the reviews before being charges over $2,900.00 for the week. Call before you get this unit.
The resort was very clean and a great location. The internet was slow. The resort could definitely use more elevators. We had to wait quite a while most of the time. Overall it was a wonderful vacation. We will be back.
Horrible , nasty , old furniture broken appliances racist security officer just filthy please don’t spend your money . The summit 1505 We was evicted with no warning . Wrongly accused! The security officer was in my face like he wanted to hit me . He’s evil ... very unprofessional not worth it at all
I used to stay at The Summit in college with friends. Now, bringing my family, ehhhhh, they weren’t impressed. Needs updated, needs deep clean of public areas. The trash just outside the elevators reeks at ALL times. Elevators almost ALWAYS busy and at check out time, nearly impossible to get down/up. Did like the gated security, beach security, Bikini Bobs on site, 2 large pools, and proximity to food, Walmart, and souvenir stores. Beach: The chairs/umbrellas provided (or to be rented) are nice and luckily ours came with one.. But, people put their own chairs/umbrellas RIGHT in front of the rental chairs and that kind of annoyed us. If you want to do more shopping (Pier Park) it is quite a ways down the road and took 45min to get there in an Uber because of traffic.
We rented via Expedia. We did not get the unit we made the reservation for. We were told that we don't actually get to choose. We got unit 615. we arrived after 12am, unloaded, and got ready for bed. I pulled the bedding down on the bed and there was a bug so I decided to investigate it further because everyone knows that there are bugs in Florida. The mattress was littered with dead black bugs, yellow stains, and dirt. Had to sleep in a chair. Early next day I texted the manager with the issue and some pictures I took. No response. I then went down to the front desk and was told they do not have anything to do with unit 615. I waited until 9am to call the number I had been given. I called and asked that we be moved to another unit or to get a new mattress. She said she would have to see it before she could make a decision and said she would be there in an hour. We waited over an hour and I had to text her again to see when she would be there. Finally she arrived and inspected the bed which she said was not bed bugs. I said ok but that is bugs, and yellow stains, and filth. She agreed that it was dirty and would put a new mattress pad on it. I asked to be moved to another condo which I was promptly told no. I asked for a new mattress and was told no. I told her I was not comfortable sleeping in the bed and we would like to leave. She said she would get back to me after she talked to "corporate". Never heard from her. We ended up making other arrangements. Got lots of pics.
This condo was ok. For the price that was paid I would have expected a little better, however the location was perfect. Right on the beach, only a short walk past the pool area. The condo was VERY dated. It was clean and the paint appeared to be "new-ish" but the condo hadn't been redecorated in a very long time. There were 3 of us and we had 3 towels and 3 washcloths that we had to use for 4 days. There was a washer and dryer and they left us a zip lock bag with 2 or 3 laundry pods. I didn't use them as I didn't know what kind they were and I am sensitive to changing detergents. I guess we were expected to wash our own towels if we wanted fresh towels. All the doors open to the outside and the breezeway is not enclosed, there is a metal rail up. Same rail that is on the balcony. It was a little scary on the 10th floor. If you are afraid of heights i would NOT recommend this place. We were not able to sit on the balcony much because someone around us was smoking pot and the smell was awful. Elevators are very slow. There were times we had to wait 3 or 4 rounds before we could get on the elevator because it was always packed when it stopped on the 10th floor. A few times we took the stairs down. There seemed to be plenty of parking, depending on the time of day you might have to park a little further out. There is a restaurant right across the street and a go cart place within walking distance. There is a box near the pool area where you can "take a toy-leave a toy" and it was normally full of sand toys, floats and even beach chairs and boogie boards. Due to the outside breezeway and the dated decor I wouldn't stay here again, unless the price was MUCH cheaper than what I paid for this time.
If you are looking for a filthy, gross and completely dilapidated place to stay, this is it. Travelocity had photos posted that no where near looked like our accommodations. Broken curtains, doors that don’t have locking bolts, dirty walls, dirty shower, terrible water stains all over the ceilings, a tv with no remote (but nice VCR- yep...a VCR!!!) we had to go out and buy Clorox wipes to clean the vanity. Our clothes have to stay in the suitcases because the closet and drawers smell like stale cigarette smoke. Hands down, worse place we’ve ever stayed.
