As we are out of towners and had an evening meeting, we stayed here as we had a very early morning flight to catch. The reception quietly greeted us and said little. Since the elevator was not easily found, I assumed there were only stairs. As seniors, we were not told where the elevator was and carried our bags as we climbed stairs. We would have appreciated being told where the elevator was hiding.
Great place if you need a place to crash before/after a flight. Shuttle runs every half hour and takes less than 10 minutes to airport. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice and I appreciated the large selection of fresh fruit. Complimentary bottled water in the in-room fridge. The bed was very comfortable. I slept very well, and that is rare for me when I travel.
All the staff I met were very nice. Both the breakfasts were varied with lots of selection and very good. The room was spacious and comfortable with frequent elevator access. The bed good but the pillows so so.
We stayed overnight to catch a flight that left early from Ottawa airport. It was very convenient and the breakfast was available at 4:30 AM so we could grab some food before leaving. The shuttle ride to the airport is short and quick.
Stayed just one night and let me say that was enough... (Short version of the review: somebody else's dirty underwear were in our room) When we got to the room, our bed was "made" but I'll use that word lightly considering there was a blanket in a heap on the end of the bed, and the pillows out of order. A little weird, but we decided to move on from there. Next, my sister decided she was going to take a shower, and went in to the bathroom to discover that all of the towels were damp. And not just in a way that maybe they weren't properly dried, but basically soaked right through. Again, weird, but she skipped the shower and we decided to go to dinner, and just get more towels on the way back. Finally when we get back to the room, I head into the bathroom with the fresh towels, and shut the door behind me. When I turn back around, there are two pairs of dirty (and when I say dirty I mean like visibly disgusting) underwear hanging on the back of the door. For me, this was kind of the tipping point so I decided to head to the front desk to see if we could switch rooms or something (anything really) since this one had quite obviously not been cleaned. The man at the front desk asked me if I had done anything with the underwear (obviously I wasn't going to touch them), and told me he hadn't received any calls from previous guests to say they were missing (not really my point). His solution was for me to throw the underwear out and he'd let the cleaning crew know to clean the room more thoroughly for the next guests. When I told him I wasn't about to touch a stranger's basically soiled underwear, his solution was to leave them there until the next morning, and once we'd checked out of the room, they'd be removed. Needless to say, I was tempted to sleep elsewhere that night, unsure as to what "surprises" I'd find next in the room (spoiler alert: it was old food in the mini fridge). We had been staying in this hotel whenever we were in Ottawa, but obviously at this point, we won't be back. Avoid this place, there are much cleaner budget hotels in Ottawa. Side note: still waiting on a response from Wyndham or any kind of management.
We stayed in this hotel for a day on Friday night. This is a decent place. The staff are very helpful. I liked the ambience of this place. Also it is near to the airport so if you’re an aviation enthusiast you may pretty well go to the airport boundary and see flights take off and land.
Great location near the airport. The room was clean and it was quiet. My main complaint was that I waited at the front desk for 20 minutes at 04:30 on July 24th and tried calling a bunch of times with no answer. I leaned over the desk and looked into the room to the left and the receptionist was asleep in the chair. He finally woke up after a few times of me saying “Excuse me?” Ridiculous.
Overall great value for your money. Rooms clean and neat, nice pool , quiet at night for restful sleep. Shower was great. Front desk very helpful when approached. Recommend this hotel to visitors in Ottawa.
The location was good, really close to the airport and very convenient near to major road access to other parts of the city. They offer simple but handy breakfast and shuttle service (which I did not use). The room was clean and it is a good place to stay if you want to be near the airport. There is a Tim Hortons within the same parking lot, which can be handy if you want to grab something quick to eat.
I stayed here for a business meeting at the Costco HQ down the road. The parking lot is kind of tough to spot from Hunt Club Rd, and comes up rather abruptly. The front desk staff said they weren't able to add my Wyndham rewards number and I'd have to call Wyndham. I'm a nothing member with very few points, but still, it seemed like a basic request. Service was otherwise friendly. The room, while big (two room suite) was kind of musty from the A/C and humidity. It was hard to keep a constant noise level on it as well. The room did have a small fridge and very basic amenities. The bed comfort was just ok. Again nothing terribly negative, just average. The lobby breakfast area was quite busy, and again very basic, yet functional in the morning. It was quite convenient walking to The Keg, just across the parking lot. There's also a Tim Horton's in the front of the parking lot. Overall, the location was what drove this reservation, but in the future I may consider staying elsewhere. This wouldn't be a devastating choice to have to return to, however.
