Econo Lodge Downtown Ottawa

I stayed only one single night. The rooms were certainly dated. In the bathroom there were holes in the wall in the window. Probably from water damage eating away at the drywall. The hotel lobby was undergoing construction. Probably badly needed, but it would have been better to close operations while construction is in process rather than having garbage bins, dust and an overall mess while guests are registering. Certainly, lots of room for improvement.

It's a basic hotel but GREAT location. Nothing to complain about, had everything that you could need. We only used the hotel to shower and sleep at night but would be comfortable if we had to spend a day in there. Price was great and place was clean. Walking distance to good tourist Destinations. Donna at the front desk was SUPERB! Would stay again.

The room was ok, meaning a bit old looking, but very clean. We were able to walk to most places we needed to go from where the Hotel is located, so anyone that is looking for a convenient location and a reasonable cost hotel, should consider the Econo Lodge Downtown in Ottawa. I would definitely stay there again.

Dirtiest place I've ever seen. I would not recommend staying there

not good. water did not flush in the bathroom.

There were ladies of the evening around, and the place was dirty.

This hotel was terrible, would not reccommend.

We were in Ottawa for two days and spent most of our time downtown. The hotel is very central and right on a bus route. Complimentary breakfast was great and all requests by maintenance/housekeeping were taken care of straight away.

Everything was as it should be in an inexpensive motel. Friendly reception, reasonably clean room, window air-conditioner, wireless internet, tv, fridge, iron, fan, breakfast (pretty simple though). The motel is close to the parliament hill (about 10-15 min walk). Would recommend and would stay again.

Ok for a night, good location. Hotel is a little down.

The room was so so. What I did not like was that the floor was not dry enough since I wanted to take shoes and socks off. Bed making was good. Rubber mat in the tub was not clean. Air conditioning was noisy. Price was cheap just to fit to the equipment condition.

15-20 min walk to the main sights on Wellington & Rideau Streets; less by bus. Bus stop for 7, 12, 14 & 18 is 1 min from the hotel. Better breakfasts with fruit would have been great instead of cereals that are probably cheap or bland in taste. Have had better especially in the US part of our trip.

Seemed to be for college and working class kids, wanting a place to stay near downtown Ottawa to party. Just verging on a rough part of town. Lots of beer bottles visible through the windows of some of the guest's rooms. Marginal conti breakfast. Starts at 7am, too late for anyone with serious business to do in the city. Just a bunch of pastries and Cheerios really. Asked for taxis on two occassions, 0645 one day and 0330 the next day. Neither of them was called for me despite my pre-arranging. The night guy 'forgot' both times. I was able to easily flag one however.

No air conditioning, breakfast week, room was pretty run down. Internet (wifi) was great though.

Very convenient location (5 min walk to downtown), plenty of restaurants and supermarkets around, bus near the entrance. Quiet, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Bad note: furniture a little worn out, 2 drawers broken, air-condition too noisy, wireless internet signal too weak and often loose the connection. About what you would expect for the price.

Thank you for sharing your feedback; it is important to us. The renovation process can not be done outside of normal business hours as we have to take into consideration guests who are sleeping at night. Also, we are open 24 hours, so we can not close business operations. Fortunately, completion is near, so everything may resume back to normal. Again, thank you for your feedback.
