Hotel was nice. a little out of the way. A bit hard to find. Room was clean and quiet, staff very friendly. I found the stair way narrow, had to wait for a crowd to come up before I could use them.. could use better black out curtains for those of us that sleep during the day.
I recently stayed here on a school trip with EF Tours. The rooms were clean but a little dark. The shower had good water pressure and the beds were pretty comfy. The TV was a little small and cut out sometimes. Ottawa is very warm in the summer and the A/C was not the greatest. The breakfast sausages did not look like breakfast sausages. They did not have that many options but their waffles were pretty good. The Wifi was lacking as well. Not worth the price it shows online but it got the job done.
Checking in was a little slow but friendly. The room was comfortable, complete with a fridge & microwave & small sofa. The bed, pillows & linens were clean & crisp. Towels were clean & plentiful. The bathroom could be a bit cleaner (floor needed to be washed). Shower worked well. Free breakfast is what you expect to get, juice, coffee, tea, cereal, breads, waffles & something hot (eggs & sausage). What was missing was yogurt, bagels & cream cheese. A bit disappointing. This is an okay place to stay & although it is near the highway we did not hear hwy noise. WiFi does not work well, but we were told they were working on the problem.
Service was good at check in. Breakfast was sufficient but not anything out of the ordinary. I was there on business and really just passing through and this location fit my needs for this trip. Carpets are old and worn out but eh beds and Bath room was clean
The first room was not acceptable as the smell of cigarette smoke was very strong. The manager took me to another room which smelled musty or stale. The third room was acceptable. The sign outside said newly refurbished. Not that I could see. Stasy was ok but not what I expected from Comfort Inn. Phone messaging system did not work, missed out on calls from relatives. Had to ask the front desk to print boarding passes as the printer in the guests workstation did not work.
Its ok... Nothing to exciting.. the area is very sketchy. Would not return. Room was alright expect paint peeling from bath ... Holes in sheets and people who stayed in hotel were scary and parties till late and very loud in the corridors.
I have been staying at the comfort Inn in Ottawa (Michael Street) for the past 5 years when ever we are in Ottawa for business or pleasure. The manager (Peter) has always been more than accommodating to our needs, late checkouts, early check ins, last minute bookings, and specific rooms. The staff is friendly and also accommodating (extra shampoo or towels) The rooms are always clean and comfortable. I would love to suggest having mats at the patio doors to keep the rugs from dirt and wet. In fact lots of hotels are taking out their carpets and putting in flooring with mats that are healthier and easier to keep clean. Keep up the good work Peter and staff
Enjoy this property, great location, quiet and a short walk to the mall or local restaurant. Until the internet is upgraded, pack your patience or use your hot spot. Been staying there many years, good to be comfortable and know the faces your dealing with.
We stayed one night and were satisfied with the room for the price. The room was clean plus had extra towels. The Lonestar restaurant is across the street they have a great menu. The down fall is its close to the highway.
when we travel we always stay at a Comfort Inn. I booked our room here for a two night stay as it was close to the Riverside Hospital where my husband was going to have eye surgery. After booking, I started to read some of the reviews on line and thought, omg, what kind of dive is this place? As we were getting closer I mentioned to my husband the reviews I had read and that if this place is as bad as I read then I would not be staying there. Well, I don't know where those people stayed that wrote such horrible reviews, because our room was very clean, it didn't smell, bathroom was spotless. Beds were comfy. Hallways didn't smell like smoke or pot (as I had read), breakfast was great. It was quiet. Staff were very friendly. We have to return to Ottawa in a couple of months and we will definitely stay at this Comfort Inn. I think some people just love to complain about anything. Great job Comfort Inn Ottawa East.
