It's a smaller hotel, some staff are very friendly but not much for amenities. I suppose it depends what you're looking for. Inside the room: if you're lucky like me to choose a room with 04 in it then you've scored yourself a nice jacuzzi and/or fireplace. It's great after a long day of work 😊 There's a microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. I'd avoid the coffee, i personally am not a fan & the toiletries are meh! There's a small gym & a laundry facility in the basement. Keep in mind they're going through renovations.
The rooms are clean and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. However, you are definitely getting your money's worth; meaning, the low price equates to basic amenities. The rooms are very small, with not much room to move. The microwave is very small and the fridge is smaller than a mini fridge. Parking is available on site for free which is great, but there is ALWAYS a shuttle van parked in the front making it very difficult to load or unload by the front door. Check in and check out were easy; they even gave us late checkout which was helpful. Wifi isn't great, it cuts out frequently. Continental breakfast, they try, cereal, milk, muffins, bagels, tea and coffee. Just know, you are getting what you pay for.
The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is very basic and there is not a lot of room. The price is pretty good, but the hotel isn't in a prime location for sightseeing (fine if you have a car).
With the price of hotels these days it makes sense to try out cheaper alternatives. It would not be worth it in the case of this hotel. It is not clean, is old, and even the non-smoking room had an odour. You could hear the person next door using the toilet or shower.
Very conveniently located near the highway, yet, very quiet. Slightly dated with bathroom could use a spruce-up but overall, clean, functional. The direct access to parking on the first floor was a bonus. Continental breakfast bar with pancakes. Nice! I would return.
Needed a place for our last night in Ottawa and picked this hotel. Good appearance and free parking. Elevator to the fourth floor. The room was large and clean with a view over the parking lot. Free wi-fi, but not in room 410. No signal and very poor way of hooking up when possible. Went to front desk and found I could hook up through a portal we stayed at two evenings previously (in the lobby). Back in the room no signal. The front desk gave me another room key to try and it did have wi-fi, but there was a broken lamp and a couple of other complaints so stayed in the original no wi-fi room 410. Also no television. Had a service person come up and an hour later and three cable boxes later found out the cable (cord) was defective. Nice place, breakfast was good, but wouldn't stay there again.
I stayed at the Hotel as i was in town for the GNR show and i was only there for one night. The check in clerk was very friendly and even spent time showing me on the map where the Td place stadium was for the show and which bus to take there.Sure the hotel may be a little far(from the stadium) but there is a bus station about 5 minutes away and you could get a bus there which will take you pretty much where you want to go.There is also a shopping mall very close by if you are bored or if you need to make a quick purchase,or grab a quick bite. The hotel itself was very clean and very quiet but most importantly very safe and very secure...........i slept like a baby!I only have one complaint and that was the cleaning staff waking me at 7 oclock in the morning to clean my room, then came around at about 10 as check out was only at 11...........just thinking maybe they should have a schedule telling them if someone is in the room and what time check out time is,or at least leave do not disturb signs in the room to be placed on the door.Easily fixable!!!Other then that i recommend staying in this establishment........i would stay again!Thank you Welcom INNs!:)
From the time I tried to check in (which took close to 30 minutes) to the time I left we had a poor experience. While the hotel (as a whole) was generally clean and recently updated, it still feels like a second rate facility. That seemed like pretty consistent feedback from other guests staying there as well. The first room we checked into had a bit of a stale smell and the air conditioning in the room didn't work. The song and dance to get it fixed felt more like "you just don't understand how to work a digital thermostat". After waiting for the handy man to show up, we eventually gave up and we were issued a new room. While the second room seemed a bit cleaner, we only had 1 channel on the television. The second room had a bit of a funky smell as well but it was tolerable. The elevators felt like a bit of a death trap. Some of my family refused to use them. The location was relatively good (minutes in a cab from Parliament Hill and shopping), as was the free WiFi. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel. If you twisted my arm or if I really was forced, I might stay there again, but if I had a choice, I would go with another chain.
I stayed at this hotel for a business trip. It's an average hotel, nothing special. Unfortunately for me, the room I stayed in had a leaking sink in the bathroom and what appeared to be mold on the shower curtain. I was unable to get the WIFI to work for the one night I was there, which was a big inconvenience. That being said, I have to say that the staff were awesome! They were extremely polite and when I questioned them about the WIFI they were very apologetic. Every staff member that I spoke with provided the up most customer service. I just wish the hotel was as good as the staff.
Everyone there is friendly and informative. I read the other reviews and figure that the guest is the problem, not the hotel staff. Simple and worthy of what they charge and what you get. Thank you for your service and hospitality!
