From the time I tried to check in (which took close to 30 minutes) to the time I left we had a poor experience. While the hotel (as a whole) was generally clean and recently updated, it still feels like a second rate facility. That seemed like pretty consistent feedback from other guests staying there as well. The first room we checked into had a bit of a stale smell and the air conditioning in the room didn't work. The song and dance to get it fixed felt more like "you just don't understand how to work a digital thermostat". After waiting for the handy man to show up, we eventually gave up and we were issued a new room. While the second room seemed a bit cleaner, we only had 1 channel on the television. The second room had a bit of a funky smell as well but it was tolerable. The elevators felt like a bit of a death trap. Some of my family refused to use them. The location was relatively good (minutes in a cab from Parliament Hill and shopping), as was the free WiFi. Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel. If you twisted my arm or if I really was forced, I might stay there again, but if I had a choice, I would go with another chain.
I stayed at this hotel for a business trip. It's an average hotel, nothing special. Unfortunately for me, the room I stayed in had a leaking sink in the bathroom and what appeared to be mold on the shower curtain. I was unable to get the WIFI to work for the one night I was there, which was a big inconvenience. That being said, I have to say that the staff were awesome! They were extremely polite and when I questioned them about the WIFI they were very apologetic. Every staff member that I spoke with provided the up most customer service. I just wish the hotel was as good as the staff.
Everyone there is friendly and informative. I read the other reviews and figure that the guest is the problem, not the hotel staff. Simple and worthy of what they charge and what you get. Thank you for your service and hospitality!
For the price you're paying you would expect a lot more. The continental breakfast that's included in the price was awful and the costumer service sucked. We did not have a "do not disturb sign" in our room and did not want house keeping so we called front desk to inform the housekeeping staff to not enter our room and when we got back they were in our room. Our door stopped working for no reason and by the time they sent someone up to look at it it randomly started working again.. I wouldn't waste my money coming here you can find something way nice for almost 200$ a night !!
Booked for 1 adult and 3 kids and they gave me a room with only 1 double bed. Didn't offer a change of room - just offered a play pen but that wouldn't have been big enough for my almost 3 year old. And that's still 3 to a bed. Besides that they were nice. The breakfast was super simple and very crowded.
The first thing we noticed when we entered our room was that it smelled stale. Later on we noticed finger/toe nail clippings on the carpet between the beds. When my husband complained to the maintenance supervisor who was standing at the front desk, housekeeping was sent up immediately to vacuum the floor. She had difficulty operating the vacuum, and because the cord was so tangled it kept pulling out from the wall. The bag cover came off and she couldn't get that back on so my husband did it for her. She was very nice and tried hard, but lacked training. Later on I dropped something on the floor and it rolled under the bedskirt. When I lifted the skirt to pick it up, there were more nail clippings under the skirt which hadn't been vacuumed up. Room lighting was totally insufficient; the bulbs needed to be stronger. To read in bed, I had to take the lamp shade off to get enough light. The toilet seat was loose and moved every time you sat on it. We asked for a wakeup call both mornings we were there. The first morning we got one, but not the second day. Luckily, I woke up early, but if you have an appointment, don't rely on a wakeup call. Breakfast was less than appetizing. You would be better to go elsewhere. The beds were very comfortable. When we checked out, the man at reception did not bother to ask if we enjoyed our stay or if everything had been alright. It's a little thing and costs nothing.
Needed a place to stay because we had an appt at Ottawa Hospital the next morning. Clean and affordable. Continental breakfast served downstairs. If you want more for breakfast, Perkins is 5 minutes away!
Was recently in town for a hockey tournament and at first I was a little hesitant after reading reviews and seeing pictures. Well I have to say that the reviews I had read prior to my stay were harsh. This is a very clean property and the staff is very friendly. Rooms in the 100 dollar per night range in Ottawa are usually pretty awful and I know because I've been to a few. This place is clean, comfortable, quiet and well located. Free wifi that works well, decent breakfast included, no parking fees. Good beds, heating and a/c worked well, clean bathroom. I really couldn't ask for more f a hotel in this price range. Would recommend as well as return in the future.
Me and my wife arrived around 11PM and the front desk guy has informed us that your reservation was expired one day ago. So, if you want something special, please looking for another place to sleep. A car will be welcome, this hotel is far way of downtown and the touristic points.
I was really happy with the choice of this property although the beds were a little soft , it was a nice place Patricia bless her runs a very tight ship at the continental breakfast, right at the stroke of 10 sharp, her enthusiasm had her remove it while I was making mine. Smoothly played Patricia, I suppose I took your enthusiasm personally in a ya snooze ya loose kinda way Yet is this not the point ? It kinda rained on the place after I was sent away by the clock witch 1 minute too late
