Loved the hotel and the staff. The staff is exceptional and helps you at every turn!

Positives: The hotel is opulently beautiful, it is a historic landmark for the city of Ottawa. The general splendor is breathtaking and the staff was very friendly and accommodating . The hotel is close to many main attractions, shopping and eateries within walking distance. Negatives: Wi-Fi is not included, the only option for parking is valet which is $45 per day plus tips, there is no complementary coffee maker in the room, and the bathroom was very tiny, had to put many toiletries on the floor.

Stay only two nights but enjoy it to the max. Hotel is located close to parliament and other amenities. The staff was very helpful and nice. If you are not a President Club member I will recommend you apply for this before coming so you can get the extra perks.

Excellent location , you can walk everywhere and not worry about traffic or parking issues . Beautiful setting on the river. Perfect.

Still is the best place to stay. Gorgeous facility, friendly staff and by far the best locale in downtown Ottawa. Walking distance to Parliament, pubs, fine dinning, Byward Market and of course skating on the canal !

One the amount of money spent on the room with no wi-fi for a 4 day stay was very poor service. Double charged our credit cards for the deposit. The waiter made my wife felt she wasn't welcome. If it wasn't for location and ascetic of the building the stay would have been a total waste. It should be converted to museum that allows public functions not a hotel.

hotel needs to be updated. staff are rude peasants... f

Check in was swift and efficient. Room had no view but we booked the Fairmont package so this was not a surprise. We enjoyed the piano music in Zoe's Lounge and marveled at the details of the old building. The bed was extremely comfortable. overall a very good stay.

Excellent location but could have used a hot tub for a February stay.

We had a wonderful weekend here, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel is grand.

We splurged for the gold club- made it very nice. Great service, friendly and helpful.

Ron was nice but needed a few upgrades, but overall was good

It was a nice week the place was very convenient and although the weather was super cold It didn't bother me because of the excellent heating system.

Ottawa has so much to offer and when you stay at the Chateau Laurier , it's all at your fingertips! The Byward Market, Confederation Park, the Rideau Centre and Canal, concert halls and Parliament are all within walking distance. We had our choice of any kind of food, drink and entertainment We wished. The hotel itself is so beautiful and grand, we felt like royalty staying there and were treated like royalty by the best staff I've ever seen. We loved the pool and our room was comfortable and clean. I didn't want to leave but I know we'll be back!

Hotel is beautiful and rich with history. However, it's definitely in need of a room facelift...

the hotel staff were nice and accomodating.the furnitures in the lobby kind of old and definitely needs reupholstering.i love the bedsheets.the restaurant kind of pricey.overall.i will rate it at 4/5.

The atmosphere of the hotel is very warm and full of charm. The room is well appointed and the service attentive. They upgraded us because they made an error in the reservation. We really appreciated that gesture.

This hotel is fabulous- clean and in a great location. 2 things we didnt like : Parking is too overpriced (30 dollars per day) and if you get a standard room its very small.

This is a very nice hotel and the location is perfect just a block away from the Parlament and the river. The hotel is famous. However, I was very disappointment that despite its high price I had to pay extra for internet connection and extra for parking. It is a pity that such a luxurious hotel with its fame does not give these ammentities to all guest. You have to become a member to get it for free. After visiting Ottowa we drove to Toronto. We are staying at a Days Inn which is less expensive but includes free parking, internet, and breaksfast. The Fairmount was not a great deal.

Wonderful hotel for a special occasion night out.

Dear Roblyn, Thank you for your valuable feedback. I encourage you to sign up for our President’s Club. Membership is free and includes many wonderful benefits, including complimentary Wi-Fi. I regret the absence of a coffee maker in your guestroom. Coffee maker, tea kettles and all the supplies are provided in each guestroom, with our compliments and is indeed one of our standards. I do hope you return one day soon, and am confident you will be impressed with the improvements! Sincerely, Shawn St-Pierre Director of Operations
