Byward Blue Inn

Hotel looks small from outside. Inside looks nice and more like a boutique hotel.

Great location and price. Staff was great. Breakfast was great and the 3 - 5 tea was a great treat.

This is a great hotel, on a quiet residential street but within a block of the Byward Market area. The hotel itself is quiet and well-maintained, has a friendly and helpful staff, and fast Wi-Fi. A huge breakfast is included in the price. It is within walking distance of many restaurants, as well as the National Gallery of Art and Parliament Hill. It is only a bit further to take a beautiful walk across the bridge to Gatineau to see the Museum of Civilization/History. There is a pharmacy and other shops nearby, and it is within walking distance of the Rideau Center shopping mall. There is a parking garage near the hotel, for those with cars, and it is also easy to get a taxi or Uber in the area. I was very pleased with my stay.

It's a very nice place that keeps it simple. Rooms are large, clean, and had ask the features. Staff is friendly and breakfast is not bad. Location is absolutely great. Steps away from byward market and a shirt ride to almost anywhere in Ottawa. Location / room / price is excellent

I loved this hotel. Close to all the great things in Ottawa, yet quiet and personal.

Felt like home. Very friendly staff. Comfortable room. Outstanding location to see the downtown sights!

WOW! This place was excellent! Walking distance to loads of interesting places. Byward Market is super.Had burgers in a pub that has a red neon sign saying only Bar just 1 block north of Clarence (Byward Blue). Went to mass at cathedral with Bishop and a wonderful organ and organist. Highly recommend all.

The location was PERFECT! So close to so many restaurants!! I think you're definitely paying for location. The hotel itself is a little old and could use some upgrades. For example, the elevator takes FOREVER. If you can use the stairs, do. Parking is not included in the price which is a bummer if you have your car. The breakfast in the morning is delicious!

Great location. Loved the balcony and gardens! The breakfast in the morning was so amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was parking close by which was great.

Stayed here 3 times in March and April 2015. Great location in Byward Market near lots of things to do - all in walking distance. Staff was very helpful and friendly, and free breakfast is reasonably good (for free).

Great location, close walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and night life. Rooms were very comfortable, nice kitchenette area, spacious.

No issues at all with this hotel, it was great! Location was excellent, near the market and close to Parliment stuff. We were going to Bluesfest, which was about a 30 minute beautiful walk away from the hotel. There are several parking options nearby, with different pricing depending on where you park. Watch out if you park in the street though, the parking people are quick to write a ticket, we didnt get one, I saw them giving tickets and the staff warned us which was nice

2day stay for two adults. Comfortable and simple. Close to all sites in down town. Parking next door reasonabe and convenient. Clean and larger than expected with balcony ( ours was in back and quiet with view of neighbors gardens. Not a chain with all bells and whistles, but a pleasant beginning and end to the day. We would stay here again.

Very much enjoyed our stay at the Byward Blue. The staff were pleasant and helpful. They recommended an awesome restaurant (Mama Grazzi's) nearby. Rooms were clean and breakfast was good! Would definately stay there again!

great service comfortablell room suitable breakfast and nice afternoon snack best location

Older hotel. Comfortable room. Liked the wood floor, balcony and kitchenette with small refrigerator and microwave. Location is in a quiet, residential section of Clarence Street but is only a block away from many pubs, diners and other shops. Twenty minute or less walk to Parliament Hill and National Gallery. Limited parking available at the hotel, but public garage 1/2 block west with reasonable rate ($8.00/day). Window A.C. was barely adequate for the temperatures in July, but balcony door allowed fresh air which was nice. Enjoyed our stay.

This hotel reminded us of some of the nicer Pensions we stayed in France and Italy. Staff is kind, friendly and very helpful. The location is half a block from the restaurants, bars, and shops of By Ward Market, and just a 15 minute walk to the National Art Gallery, the National Art Center, the canal. We parked in the City Garage next door, and never had to use the car for three days. We suggest you ask for a room on the 5th floor, in the rear. There you will have shade in the morning on your balcony, to drink your coffee and check your iPad.

I stayed in other hotels in Ottawa as well but this hotel is best of all. especially comfortable room with best breakfast included and also eve snacks. It is walkable distance to the mall and consulates as well

We arrived at 3 PM and were told to return at 4 PM which we did. We checked in and the room they gave us had not been cleaned and the bed was not made. We were told there were no other rooms and that they would send up the housekeeper right away. We waited an hour and no one showed up. We went back to the front desk and were assigned another room. It was a very disappointing beginning to our week end but everything was OK from then on.

Very nice, excellent staff and nice atmosphire, the only problem I did have was my car was damaged in the parking lot.
