Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Osoyoos3.0 out of 5.0

When in Osoyoos we choose to stay at the Holiday Inn. We visited with my sister in Sept and rented a 2 bedroom suite. Very convenient with 2 bathrooms, a large living, dinning and kitchenette. Coffee n teas were in short demand but a call to the housekeeping staff has an abundance of refreshments along with salt n pepper satchels included! Beds comfortable, living room comfortable and the view of the lake and beach lovely. We were on the 3rd floor and unfortunately the upstairs guests were a bit noise - sounded like they were moving furniture! After a talk with reception and by chance the upstairs guests our stay at the hotel was much quitter. Bonus - underground parking, close to restaurants and downtown area. However the hotel is a bit tired - needs rugs cleaned and the floor on the patio redone. Staff very good and accommodating. There is a restaurant on the premises. Morning n eventing views of the lake excellent and the beach area also has BBQs for guest use. Yes we will return in 2018!
I had researched this hotel before booking and found they had the best pool in the area, which is what we base our stay on when traveling. We were checked in by a very friendly young man who neglected to tell us the pool and hot tub were closed due to renovations until the booking process was complete. EXTREMELY disappointed! Nowhere on the booking site I used was there any mention of the closure. If there had been, we would have changed out plans. But I guess that's the reason they don't tell you up front for fear of losing guests. I don't know if we would have been able to cancel our stay of not, none the less, we were there for the night. When we got to our room I was pleasantly surprised to see a very deep soaking tub in the bathroom. All was not lost, I thought! At least I could have a nice soak before bedtime. Went to fill the tub and found that the drain plug was broken!! Do have to say the beds were comfortable and the view of the lake was beautiful. Not sure if we would stay again. May try one more time when pool is up and functional. We did peek in the pool area and it does look amazing.
elevator did not work, hall carpets filthy, bathroom fan noisy, desk staff friendly. for the price ($125 + tax) not worth another stay, ever. This is one you have to apologize to your wife for. spend 3 times as much and get a place 100 times better.
This is a decent family hotel. It's very basic. The location is good and the beach is very nice. The rooms have full size kitchens and comfortable beds. Osoyoos is a beautiful area, but they really need to hire some city planners from Quebec to beautify the town
We booked this hotel as it looked good on the website. Parking is very limited if you have a suv over 6'2" in height (you won't fit the underground parking lot and will have to go onto the street as the spots out front are always full). The pool is hideous, slippery, there are no towels and the so called hot tub is lukewarm. The hotel does have a good view but it is in desperate need of renovations.
Beautiful view of the lake but who experience ruined by a hideously unclean bathroom. front desk most polite and helpful but problem not fixed for hours until eventually the front desk person came up and personally cleaned the room. Hotel did provide a partial refund
First room we were checked into had a puddle of water on the floor from a leaking fridge. A call to the front desk resulted in a prompt switch to another room which was much appreciated. Unfortunately that room had a tub that barely drained, not a nice surprise in the morning. There is a fitness room but it is in dire need of TLC, there was rotten fruit on the equipment someone else behind, weights were missing and a very poor selection of equipment. Not the worst room I've stayed in but I expected more of a Holiday Inn.
I booked this as looked good on the website but I was sadly mistake. I fully understand the Holiday in is not a flash hotel was not expecting posh and beautiful. Check in was easy, I had upgraded us to a suite. There was a odd smell in the room but thought well it's out dated and bit old so put it down to that. The kitchen was OK lacking a few things but for the night it was fine, the bathroom was OK but the toilet had black marks in the bottom. The towels where no longer white but grey as is the bed linen but as I said it's a old hotel. But when you start looking at the housekeeping you see the lack of standard. After a few hours in our room a almighty banging and vibration of the bathroom floor started, called reception they send a young lad up who had no idea. We asked for a new room which we was given promptly, a room above the noise instead of below, so pointed this out. So they gave a different room, not sure which room was worst, we was on the top floor. We walked in and all you could here was this low tone vibration and it's constant. I think it's either the extractor from the restaurant below us or air conditioning units on the roof. Decided we was not moving again and poked up with it, then I noticed the housekeeping again. Hairs in one bed, ceiling lamp shades filled with flies, sprinklers covered in cobwebs and flies, dirt marks all over the window frames, dust on the backs of table lamps, stained chair with grease marks on the head rest, splash marks on tables and walls. It just felt that completely neglected of any housekeeping and maintenance as socket blanks where cracked and little fingers could stick them in the hole, cracked class on the fire screen and very stained carpets. The whole hotel is tired and in need of a good updated and better trained housekeeping staff. I paid twice the price for this hotel than the night befores hotel and could not even compare the two, this is not worth the money and I would not stay here again due to the poor housekeeping
The Hotel sits on the causeway that crosses the lake. If you're on the north side, you are on the lake, with a beach. South side; roadway, power lines, pedestrian walkway, and then the lake. Get an upper floor room if you want to stay away from beach or road noise. Unless you want to be able to talk/yell at the people on the beach. Rooms have balconies. I watched a great sunset over the surrounding hills, with the lake in the foreground. No CC on TV (think it's a Canadian thing).
We stayed here for six days in September. Definitely the summer rush is over. Our suite was very comfortable with a balcony view of Osoyoos Lake. The room was clean and well equipped . My only negative comment would be about maintenance. On our first day I mentioned to the front desk that the inside door knob to our balcony was loose. It was never fixed in the six days we were there. Also the toilet was very tentative. The plunger beside the toilet gave me a hint that this was an ongoing problem. Overall though we found the location and accommodations very comfortable.
