Booked hotel based on distance to JFK and price. This hotel is actually a NYC homeless shelter, the place could have been cleaner..... Much cleaner. Yelling and screaming at all hours of the night in the hallway. Parking very limited, and its first come first serve, or its the street! Location is terrible, tourists should not be in this section of the city. I hate to give any one a bad review, It seemed like the hotel was actually a family business. Every employee I spoke to were very pleasant people to deal with, and they did try there best to meet your needs.

I chose this hotel because it was close to friends and family that I was visiting. I was disappointed even before I entered the building. I tried to contact the hotel to see if I could check in early and for two days there was no response. The room was non smoking and when I entered the room the smell of smoke was strong. The receptionist told me they would send someone up to spray the room when I notified them. I found this unsettling since they advised me I would be charged if they determined I smoked in the room before I was handed the key. The room did not have a fresh look and smell. I would only stay here if there was no other alternative.

it was always a good place to stay when i come to NY . close to shops and subway is close by room is clean .. but wifi connection sucks .

The king sized room was cute. Not alot of space but still cute. It was pretty clean. It was a pretty good value for the money spent. Unfortunately the tv was grainy on all channels. Other than that it was enjoyable. Issues with there not being much around to eat but thats ok.

The hotel was clean and the staff was freindly. It was a great value for where it was located

Decent hotel for the price, needed a place to stay overnight in an emergency.

I stayed here while visiting my daughter who attends St Johns college. Everything was fine, front desk helpful, rooms clean.

I stayed at this hotel for 6 days while setting my daughter up for her first year in college. The hotel is just a mile and a half from St John's University and convenient for parents of the students. There is limited parking however, the staff made every effort to make space available for me every day. The room was completely clean, comfortable and quiet. It was a great perk to have breakfast in the lobby each morning, but there are not many restaurant options for the evening. The neighborhood is busy and diverse I did not feel any more uncomfortable walking alone there than I would in any city (ie San Francisco). All in all, this hotel met my expectations.

Hotel was clean and room was nice. I had a great time in NYC however the first at the hotel I did have an issue. But they resolved and I was finally able to go to sleep at 1am.

Location near Jamaica Center, 2 blocks from the F subway line, Q bus service is terrific. Price was reasonable, staff were friendly and helpful. HVAC was not so great; room was stifling (in Winter), temperature was very hard to regulate. Heater seemed unresponsive to adjustments to the thermostat. Although the bed was made daily, there appeared to be no other cleaning done to the room (like vacuuming).

it's accomondating good for shopping and clean rooms.

Good if you don't like the hovering type. The bad thing is, I had my check out for the morning, and the night before they had my bags packed, locked out of my room and waiting in the hall.

I had an overall great experience and I will definitely book again!

one elevator in whole hotel and very busy during peak hour. So if you have lot of luggage then be prepare to wait forever. nothing special about hotel except near subway station, free breakfast and free parking.

It is a good last minute booking! Parking is limited but the train and bus are close and if needed gas is across the street. The room was average size that you can still walk around with a king size bed.

Close to transportation to and from, and close to restaurants. Clean rooms, free Wi-Fi, courteous staff. We felt safe even at late night because this hotel is located on a big street with quite a lot of people walking around. Close to St Johns University (walk or bus)

Everything is pretty good except they have really limited amount of parking area....

The room had rugs stains and tears. The door did not feel secure. I was told the property was no smoking and the room reeked. Not worth $10

The hotel rooms are clean, although a bit small. The location is great for me, because I have friends around Hillside Ave.

I don't understand why the ratings not higher. We've stayed there a number of times and it had always been a good experience. The staff was helpful and courteous, and our room was very clean. We will continue to book it when we visit that area.
