Definitely one of the best breakfasts at a B&B we have experienced. Various components came from their farm that it sits on. The proprietors were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We ordered the cheese/bread plate w/wine and it turned out to be a very good value. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Our room did not have an attached bath but it was right across the hall and was reserved for our use only. This was no problem, but if it concerns you, you should specify that you want an attached bathroom. The B&B provided many amenities, such as cookies, soda, coffee, and items you may have forgotten. Our stay was in cooler weather so we did not sit outside. The building is located quite close (but not visible) to Interstate 90 and the road noise may be of concern to some guests.

Beautiful setting, spotlessly clean accommodations, incredible breakfast, nice, friendly owners. There were homemade cookies, among other snacks, boots to keep your shoes dry and clean if you wanted to go for a hike. Every thoughtful detail was there to make our stay memorable. Can't wait to go back.

Tranquil setting, clean, comfortable rooms. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are delicious made from products from the farm itself and locally sourced items. It was our first time staying here. We enjoyed the fire as it was a cold and dreary weekend.

The Speckled Hen was a unique gem in Madison. You are on a small farm with a Llama and lambs. The home is beautiful, clean and spacious. We had a great room with a huge bathroom and a large comfy bed. I waited until the end for the best part. The Breakfast was amazing. The food was all fresh and well made. 4 courses and all fantastic. It was a very warm and happy place.

The Inn was excellent from top to bottom, start to finish. Clean, comfortable, expansive accommodations , excellent food, beautiful grounds, friendly and welcoming. Relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful and tranquil setting. The proprietors made us feel special and comfortable. B&B is close to the airport and to downtown madison, yet in a countryside setting. I would recommend and stay again.

We can't say enough good things about the Speckled Hen Inn. This is our first time staying at this property, and we will be back for sure. The Inn and the surrounding grounds are peaceful and lovely. The hosts didn't miss a beat with treating their guests to snacks and drinks, games, and walking trails. There are also rockers to sit on outside to gaze at the beauty of the farm or just read and talk. The breakfast in the morning was amazing and Heather and Tim were so gracious. The room was spacious, very clean, and quiet. We had a lovely time.

My husband & I had a wonderful experience at The Speckled Hen Inn Bed & Breakfast! The hosts were friendly, but not intrusive. Breakfast was delicious each morning, plus they even accommodated special diets. Our room was beautifully decorated and had a lovely private bathroom with a whirlpool tub. We had the best of both worlds... a short drive into Madison or lounging on the property going for walks or reading in the gazebo We'll definitely be back!

We traveled to the Speckled Hen for a brief anniversary getaway. This was our first stay but we were so impressed we're already planning our next visit. The farm is tucked away in a pocket of trees on the cusp of where suburban highways and shopping switches to rural farms and cornfields. The Inn is a gorgeous property with views of pasture with sheep, a llama, and wild turkeys. Squirrels and chipmunks run freely within views of your room. We stayed in the Token Creek Room. It was small, but well appointed with a generously-sized bathroom including a whirlpool tub and two-headed shower. We opted for a cheese tray and wine upon arrival. The offering was delicious and included unexpected sweet treats, as well. Breakfast each morning was the star of the day--Heather outdid herself and exceeded all expectations. Breakfast is a well designed multi-course experience of small plates shared with fellow guests in a casual and friendly format. All of the food is locally-sourced, most of it so local that it came from the Speckled Hen's own gardens and chickens. The innkeepers are very communicative and helpful with local recommendations and also accommodating to any special requests or needs for lodging or breakfast. If you have any questions or requests, don't hesitate to call or email the innkeepers.

We LOVED our time at the Speckled Hen Inn. Heather and Tom were personable and gracious hosts. The accommodations were magical. The view of the farm was tranquil and just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. Breakfast was so much fun! The 4 course meal was delicious: breakfast enchiladas and mango sorbet. Farm to table tastiness! We hope to go again soon!

The Speckled Hen Inn is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the Madison Lakes Suite to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Everything about our stay made it the memorable weekend we had hoped for. Jim and Heather are wonderful hosts. The facilities and the property are unique and incredibly relaxing. The Madison Lakes Suite is a private well-appointed suite. We enjoyed relaxing in front of the fireplace and having a wonderful cheese tray in the suite’s dining area. Heather provides absolutely delicious gourmet breakfasts that are a wonderful dining experience. We recommend the Speckled Hen Inn as an exceptional place to stay. Dennis and Nancy
