We stopped on route to Florida from Tennessee. Rented three rooms using points. Sofa beds added a lot of flexibility when traveling with children. I did a lot of research and this came out with a high ranking which didn't disappoint. Breakfast was ok but ended early (9:39) for a Sunday.
We had requested a room with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa- as we were traveling with 3 kids. When we arrived at hotel at 9:00 pm we were given a room that had NOT been cleaned- with our very late arrival the front desk seemed unsure what to do at first, we asked for a new room - they said we couldn't switch rooms because there were 5 in our party. Then they asked if we wished for housekeeping to be called up?!? YES!! Their was leftover food and messes all around from previous guests. There were a large group of girls across the hall being noisy all night. We chose to have housekeeping called back to clean our room and change the sheets. It was 10:30 pm before we were able to even begin to get settled in our room for the night. Both my husband and I tried speaking with front desk about this situation but got NO support or answers from front desk staff. Also- shower had a missing piece to allow it to work, when we called front desk to report they acted as if we didn't know how to operate their shower head, and there was NO hair dryer in our room. While the beds were comfortable and the AC worked well- the customer service is lacking and this location does not meet Marriott's high standards of operation. Avoid if you can - we ended up with more consistent results staying at other chains the rest of our trip. NOTE: the room we were given did not look like any pictures on hotel website- there was no room divider in our room. We could have easily slept all 5 of us in one of the other rooms with the divider putting one of our older kids on the sofa in the living area- but they wouldn't let us change to do that. Not an easy hotel to to work with and not good customer service in our experience- with the exception of the gentlemen who we saw briefly at checkout when we went to make sure they fixed some things in that room before it would be assigned to anyone else, he was sympathetic to our situation but was helpless to do anything about it at that point.
The hotel itself is simply amazing. Very clean and neat. However, the customer service was not up to par. Upon arrive while in the lobby waiting to be checked in with others there was a discussion amongst some individuals about job training and being charged an incidental fee. The two front desk workers were explaining to some of the ladies that they would be charged a refundable small incidental fee until check out. While I'm standing in the back of the line waiting to be checked the front desk worker (a female) went to get a manager. When the manager Erica walked up she looked right me and was VERY DISRESPECTFUL, UNPROFESSIONAL, and RUDE to me about an incidental fee when I didn't have a problem paying the fee. I advised her that I didn't have a problem paying the fee and she didn't have to speak to me in such a rude manner because I'm not sure what the issue was. Erica then stated "what was I called up here for?" I advised her "I'm not sure to ask her employee because I'm waiting to get checked in and didn't have a problem with the fee". The manager Erica then stated good she wasn't about to argue with me, stared at me, rolled her eyes and walked into the back. I was speechless because I was waiting in line with my coworker as we are here for job training and the manager Erica was RUDE for no reason. The other customers asked the two front desk workers what was the manager's issue because she was rude and didn't belong in customer service. Aside from the HORRIBLE customer service experience with the manager Erica, the hotel is very nice.
Quick getaway to spend much needed time with friends. Room wasn't ready upon early arrival but there were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby to waste time. Within a mile is the "new" Macon mall, as they call it. Spent lots of time there shopping and having lunch/dinner. Room was very clean with minor plumbing issue.
My wife and I have stayed in Springhill Suites since their inception -- and have always enjoyed the clean, spacious rooms -- and the wonderful breakfasts. During our stay at the SH Suites in Macon, GA 2 weeks ago -- we were pleasantly surprised to find that this property had a new bathroom design that was fantastic. They finally did away with the bathtubs -- something I have wondered why all hotels didn't do this 30 years ago ! So......there is a beautiful walk-in shower and a spacious vanity......and next door.....with a separate door is the toilet and a small vanity (for washing hands). Both my wife and I commented at the nice design and carefully thought out arrangement of the bathroom area. Hope to see this design in more SH Suites in the future.
We arrived very late around 2 in the morning after a cross-country flight. The room was large and comfortable. When my wife woke up to go to her business meeting she tried to take a shower however there was no warm water that would come out. I went down to the desk and the girl there told us to just let it run for a little bit and the water would become hot. This did not work. By the time that we had done all of that my wife didn't have time to take a shower prior to doing to her meeting and had to take a "sink bath." On her way out she told the girl at the desk that it still wasn't working and she immediately sent up a maintenance worker. The maintenance worker was helpful and actually ended up disassembling the faucet and the hot water worked. It appeared that a previous guest had really messed the faucet up. I was able to take a shower after that. Lee breakfast was okay for it being free. However enjoy the breakfast provided by some other chains much better. Aside from the plumbing issue I didn't have any complaints and they allowed me to have a 1 p.m. late checkout.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times on quick business trips. The staff is always nice and the complimentary breakfast is good. The hotel is at a good location in terms of nearby restaurants and accessible to I-75.
The Staff are caring and friendly. I had no issues during this weeks stay. There seems to be a lot of staff and they were always cleaning, this Springhill Suites is spotless. I would say I do not like the room layout.
Rolled in about midnight to this hotel. Right off highway with ez on and off access. Super comfy beds and nice person at the front desk. The shower and toilet setup is different and might not appeal to some people traveling together. Not bad just weird. Good place though.
We stayed here for one night during a recent road trip. This hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff friendly. The room was huge and included a sofa, desk, fridge, and microwave. The layout was a little different ...The bathroom is divided with the tub and vanity in one area and the toilet with another sink in another area, and with pocket doors that were a little hard to close. However I got a great price and was not disappointed.
