I just about didn't book here based off of other reviews, but I'm happy that I did. This motel is dated, but it is very clean, and you can tell that the owners and staff take pride in this establishment. The bed is plain, no pillow top, or fancy covers; but it is comfortable. If you prioritize all things high end, this is not the place for you. If you value cleanlines

If you are like me, you really depend on the reviews. So, I want to leave an honest review. We stayed for two nights and spent most of the day outside adventuring around Blue Ridge. Really, we only slept in the room. Pros: Reid Ridge Lodge is very clean and conveniently located of the main road. I really enjoyed the rustic look. It reminded me of an old cabin with beautiful "wood" work inside the room. The breakfast is a grab and go style (muffins, coffee, and pastries). The lodge has a fire pit with chair for sitting. Cons: The bed was very firm and there was a significantly strong smell/odor in the room. I almost wonder if it was from the carpet or the ac. Not quite sure. We did let the front desk know.

We had trouble signing in. He didn't want to give me the room I reserved. He knew the bed was horrible. One side of the mattress was so depressed, I had trouble staying on the bed. Find another place to stay, is my recommendation.

Would have been perfect had I not been shocked by the exposed wiring of the floor lamp in the sitting area of our suite - 110 volts per hubs. Hubs immediately unplugged lamp, and ran downstairs to tell young man at desk (who said he'd send maintenance up in the morning). I walked downstairs with floor lamp in hand and placed it in front of the desk. When reported to day manager the next morning, he stated, "Well, what do you want me to do about it? We have 65K people come through this hotel every year." I stated, "Well, if you do nothing else today besides collect people's money, how about checking the light fixtures in all of your rooms???." Further told him that I was a nurse and this could have seriously injured a heart patient or a child... He told me to get out. Thankfully, it was I (healthy) and not my husband (an open heart surgery candidate) who touched the lamp. I'm demanding a full refund from hotels.com primarily for the way I was treated by management. I was calm and polite until the the manager gave me attitude. It's been about 18 hours, and my hand is still throbbing. Will come back to visit, but will not stay here!

Just keep driving- I have no idea how this place got any good reviews. Dimly lit, obnoxious fumes from some kind of cleaner or air freshener or something very strong. Knob missing to control air conditioning. No elevator, I didn’t realize this until we had checked in and asked to change to a first floor room but they could not. It was so bad that we just asked if we could get a refund and go find somewhere else- of course not- so we paid for a room we never used. Lesson learned, will not return

Comfortable room no concerns, clean, everything in working order, including K cup coffee machine and refrigerator, AC. Very convenient to town. Did not hear any noise. Would stay here again. Only issue is the continental breakfast was a 2 out of 10. Bagels were OK but tough toaster/MW helped. Juice machine was watered down, not drinkable. Coffee was great! Breakfast included yogurt, and packaged muffins, that was sufficient. Thanks
